Chapter 1: I'm Turning Into Booker:

Summary:

Nicky goes with Quynh to pregnancy yoga.

Chapter Text

Nicky knew he would never forget what happened on Wednesday 13th October 2012 at 11 AM for the rest of his life. It was the day, he met a very hot yoga instructor.

It happened when Andy had to take over a military exercise and more or less gave the order that Nicky was the one who should go with Quynh to pregnancy yoga with the words "With Nicky, I know he wouldn't do what Booker would do". When Booker heard that he said he would never stare at the yoga instructor but when Andy showed a picture of the yoga instructor, Booker had to admit that he would stare at her, when the yoga instructor would bend over. So, that's why Nicky found himself on that Wednesday at pregnancy yoga.

"Quynh," Nicky said when he sat on the yoga mat. "What am I to do here?"

"I most of all need help with tying my shoelaces when this is over," Quynh replied. "And maybe hold my stuff when I run for the bathroom."

"I can do that," Nicky replied as he looked around at the people in the room. "Should I wait outside? I mean since I'm the only man in the room."

"You're welcome to stay if you want. The yoga instructor says she would wish more men would be involved in pregnancy yoga," Quynh replied. "And maybe the exercises will help on your back."

At that moment the yoga instructor came in followed by a man. Nicky had never seen a man like that before. He looked good in his sweatpants and the pink tanktop he was wearing showed his muscular arms but what made him hot in Nicky's eyes was that his curly hair was pulled back in a man bun, his brown eyes, and the dimples that showed when he smiled.

"Oh my god," Nicky thought to himself as he forced himself to stare at the wall instead of the man. "I'm turning into Booker."

"Nicky?" Quynh asked. "Did you hear what I said?"

"No, sorry," Nicky replied. "I was thinking about dinner."

It wasn't a lie at all. Nicky would love to invite the man out for dinner or eat him for dinner.

"Her name is Nile," Quynh said. "She is one of the best yoga instructors in town."

"She seems nice," Nicky replied. "And who is he?"

Quynh giggled.

"What?" Nicky asked.

"You like him," Quynh teased. "You're like a giddy schoolgirl."

Before Nicky could say anything Nile called for attention.

"As I said last week, today's lesson will be led by Joe," Nile said. "It's all part of his education."

"You planned this," Nicky whispered. "I bet Andy is not even on that military exercise."

"I have no idea what you're talking about," Quynh whispered back. "Now pay attention."

When Joe started to speak, Nicky just knew that he would love to hear Joe speak forever. And because Nicky was more focused on looking at Joe, he didn't see where he placed his feet and he ended up falling down on the yoga mat face first.

"Are you ok?" Joe wanted to know.

"Yeah," Nicky replied. "It's the usual story with me and my feet. I want to go in one direction, and my feet in another direction."

Joe smiled at Nicky.

"Let me show you something," Joe said. "Could I touch you?"

"Yes," Nicky replied. "I mean, yes you can."

Nicky saw Quynh suppress a laugh. Joe then helped Nicky into the dog pose and when Joe let go of Nicky, Nicky wished Joe would never stop touching him.

After the yoga class, Quynh and Nicky went to their favourite cafe to eat lunch.

"I still got you and Andy under suspension for planning this," Nicky said. "You wanted me to meet Joe."

"I still have no idea what you're talking about," Quynh replied as she looked at the waiter. "I want the salad, and the baby wants ice cream. And apple juice."

"Let me have the club sandwich," Nicky said. "And a glass of water."

Before eating Quynh went to the bathroom, leaving Nicky alone with his thoughts about the hot yoga instructor.

"You're still thinking about Joe," Quynh said when she sat down.

"I still have no idea what you're talking about," Nicky replied. "I won't admit it before you admit you planned it all."

"I did not," Quynh replied. "But if I did, it has more to do with that I think it's about time that my best friend should have a boyfriend."

"I know you mean it well, Quynh," Nicky replied. "We both know that Joe would never look in my direction. Have you taken a look at me?"

Quynh placed a hand on Nicky's hand.

"Trust me when I say this," Quynh said. "If you ask Joe out, I know he will say yes because he looked at you the same as you were looking at him."

Nicky doubted it, but at the same time, he couldn't remember the last time Quynh had been wrong about anything.
