Summary
Nicolò Di Genova is home for the summer after he graduated college - except, things are tense and strange. His Dad, a big shot lawyer who works for Merrick Enterprises, has hired extra security, and seems a bit miffed he came home for the summer instead of touring Europe like he had wanted him, too. But Nicky was just trying to spend his summer in the pool while he works some things out . . .
Joe is hired as extra security to watch over a guy who knows nothing about life (or so he thinks). This is his last job, and then he’s done - he’s out, and can just focus on what he needs to do next. But what was supposed to be an easy job of watching a rich kid sunbathing while his Dad coordinates his grand jury testimony with the DEA, turns into something much more dangerous. It’s not just Nicky’s Dad who is in danger - it’s Nicky, too.
Because someone has decided he wants him all to himself . . . and it’s not just Joe.

Summary
Joe is an aspiring artist and art student, working nights and weekends as a bartender to make ends meet, and Nicky is an upcoming priest. They meet when Booker, Joe's best friend, leaves and vacates their shared place to go back to France after finishing his degree. Desperate to find someone to share the rent, Joe asks Andy, a friend but also a regular at the bar, if she knows anyone looking to share a flat. To his surprise, she tells him that he is the second person to ask her that question today.

Summary
The pounding came again. Nicky’s hands dropped to his apron, absentmindedly wiping the butter off his hands as he walked to the door. He looked through the peephole to make sure it wasn’t a mugger or robbers.
He would’ve been less surprised if it was the Queen herself.
Tall, unfortunately handsome, his shirt and apron soaked through in the rain and his curls dripping over his head. Nicky blinked but nope, it was still his arch-nemesis. Nicky rocked back on his heels, wondering why on earth Joe Al-Kaysani would be at his back door in the middle of the night.
In which:
Nicky and Joe's bakeries share an alley and their competitive nature has gotten the better of them for years. Until one stormy night.
