“Is that my shirt?”
Thoma looked up from the book he was reading as soon as he heard the familiar voice from the doorway to the room he was resting in. After the incident with the failed ceremony in which the shogun was supposed to take his vision to inlay as the 100th into her statue in Inazuma City, he had been hiding out in one of the Kamisato family’s smaller properties tucked away in Chinju Forest near the foot of the mountain. Normally, he would be allowed to hide out on his own, especially considering the fact of why he was in hiding, but due to extenuating circumstances involving what he’d found out later was not a sprained ankle but rather a broken one, he was instead joined by the head of the household he was tasked with assisting in - Kamisato Ayato himself, Ayaka’s older brother. Normally, it wouldn’t bother him in the slightest to spend more time with Ayato, but considering he didn’t know exactly when it would be safe for him to roam freely among the people of Inazuma, he was stuck being watched over by the head of the Kamisato family for an indeterminate period of time with no hope of getting some time on his own while they were both still dancing around defining whatever was going on between them. Glancing down at the shirt he was wearing, he nodded in agreement as he determined that the pale blue shirt was, in fact, the other man’s and not his own.
“That’s what it looks like.” Thoma agreed before placing the piece of paper he was using as a bookmark between the pages, closing the book, and setting it aside on the end table that was beside the couch he was sitting on.
“Is there a particular reason why you’re wearing it?” Ayato asked, leaning against the doorway with his arms crossed over his chest.
“It might have something to do with laundry needing to be done.” he replied as he motioned towards his left ankle and where it was propped up on a cushion, casted by a physician who served the Kamisato family before he had even left the Komore Teahouse to hide away from the Raiden Shogun herself. “I’m under orders not to do anything strenuous, including cooking and chores.”
The young lord let out a quiet hum before making his way over to the couch where his companion was sitting, causing Thoma to hold his breath for a moment as he watched him settle in on the floor beside the couch. It was rare for Ayato to sit on the floor without a cushion so having him there, running his fingers along the cast that kept the blond’s left ankle from moving in an almost apologetic way, was a strange experience in more than a few ways. As the fingers that were lightly caressing his ankle moved up along his led towards his knees, Thoma shivered slightly.
“My lord-”
“Don’t call me that when we’re alone.” Ayato whispered as he cut off the other man. “There’s no one else here, call my name instead.”
Thoma let out a quiet sigh before lightly pushing away the hand that was resting on his knee. “ Ayato , shouldn’t you be making dinner instead of seducing an injured man?”
“You seduce me just by existing, it’s only right that I return the favor every once in a while.” the blue haired man let out a quiet hum before grabbing the hand that pushed his away and pressing a soft kiss to the back of his hand. “Tell me what you want for dinner and I’ll do my best to make it for you.”
“Whatever you can make without burning.” Thoma replied before leaning down to press a chaste kiss to the young heir’s forehead.
“Alright. You focus on looking pretty while I cook, alright?”
“I’ll try.”
Thoma watched as the young lord started to walk away before remembering what had started the issue between them in the first place and calling after him. “Don’t forget to do the laundry today!”
