Chapter 1: Work Work, Theseus!

Chapter Text

”My name is Theseus. The best vigilante to ever walk these streets. Or should I say, fly over these streets.” The young boy smirked.

”That’s great and all kid but you know those are illegal.” The hero sighed.

”I would be a hero but my dad would never let me be one, and the number one rule is don’t go against dad or you’ll be in trouble.” Theseus shrugged.

”You get in more trouble for being a vigilante you know.” The hero explained.

”Yeah, but I know how to get away with it.” The kid took a step back, he was cornered but he had a plan.

”You obviously don’t if-“ The hero sighed and put a hand to his face.

”I was fucking serious when I said I fly over these streets.” Theseus laughed as he stepped over the edge of the building.

”Holy shit! Kid?!” The hero ran to the edge where Theseus had fallen. Over the edge he saw the same child but with outstretched wings.

”See ya bitch. Also don’t call me a kid.” The vigilante then made his escape leaving the hero starstruck where he stood.

”Tommy! You could have been caught there. You need to stop being risky and stay out of the hero’s way.” A stern voice rang out in the vigilante's ear as he flew over the city.

”Ranboo, Ranboo, Ranboo. You know for a fact that I, Theseus, is the greatest vigilante ever. I never get caught.” Tommy stopped on top of another building, presumably abandoned.

”Oi, I can hear you two.” Another voice called out.

”I’m spitting nothing but the truth Tubbo. How much crime have you stopped tonight huh?” Tommy asked.

”Eh, slow night, only three petty thieves. Just stopped that third one now. What about you?” Tubbo shared his night.

”Only two for me.” Tommy admitted.

”So that makes me better then.” Tubbo’s voice sounded cocky.

”No! That just means that you had the better patrol sight. I bet Ranboo was being biased and made sure you got a better location, you bitch” Tommy paced the roof he was resting on top of.

”Don’t bring me into your petty argument.” Ranboo spoke again.

”We’re not actually fighting Ranboo. I’m just making sure Tommy knows his place.” Tubbo giggled a little.

”You are both bitches. I hate you both. I’m not gonna do vigilante work with you two ever again.” Tommy huffed.

”Oh really now?” Tubbo’s voice echoed a little.

”Where are you Tubbo? You have an echo on my end.” Tommy questioned.

”There’s no echo on my end.” Ranboo said.

”Wait, so if I have an echo but you don’t then that means..” Tommy stood confused.

”It means I’m behind you.” Tubbo whispered into Tommy’s ear causing him to jump.

”You stupid bitch!” Tommy almost smacked Tubbo out of instinct.

There was laughter from Tubbo and Ranboo causing Tommy to pout.

”I think we should head home now. We have school tomorrow and our parents will be worried.” Tubbo wiped a tear from laughter.

”Yeah I suppose it’s getting late.” Tommy sighed.

”See you two tomorrow.” Ranboo said his goodbyes.

”I’ll see you tomorrow Atom bomb.” Tommy smirked preparing for his flight home.

”I’ll see you tomorrow, Theseus.” Tubbo went his own way back home with a little wave.

Tommy went to school the next day exhausted. Him and Tubbo had definitely been up too late doing vigilante work.

When he went to go to his locker there were some hybrids being shitheads and bullying some poor dude. They also chose to do it outside of his locker.

”Hey shit heads, move. And how about you leave this dude alone.” Tommy looked them dead in their eyes. He wasn’t up for bullshit today.

”Whatever man.” “Yeah whatever.” The two walked away.

”Thanks man, it’s nice to have a hybrid that doesn’t treat you like shit.”

”Yeah whatever, I just want to get to my locker.” Tommy replied without thinking. “But hey, don’t let them get to you. Powers and shit don’t fucking matter.”

The kid thanked him and moved on. That was the sad part about Tommy’s society. People treated you differently based on your class. There were hybrids like himself, there were people with powers like his brother Wilbur, there were people who were both because of their parents like his friend Tubbo, and then there were the powerless like his friend Ranboo.

All the powered hybrids thought they were better than everyone else and everyone thought they were better than the powerless. Tommy thinks it was all stupid, there were quite a few people who did agree with them but it was still an apparent trait in people.

Of course, hate leads to violence eventually and that leads to crime and that’s where the hero’s come in. The most elite of people solved all the crime. Tommy even met some a couple years ago before he became a vigilante….. They saved him.. They nearly-.

”Hey bossman, I see you’re looking as dead as I am.” Tubbo woke Tommy up from his daydream.

”Hm? Oh yeah.” Tommy chuckled.

”You good, you seem distracted?” Tubbo asked, slightly concerned.

”Yeah I’m Tommy Watson, I’m amazing. Just tired.” Tommy elbowed Tubbo playfully.

”Just making sure.” Tubbo put his hands up in surrender.

”Even when we’re not out stopping crime on the streets, I’m stopping bullies by my locker.” Tommy sighed.

”People are shitheads, what can I say?” Tubbo shrugged.

”That’s what I said.” Tommy threw his hands up.

Tubbo laughed at the gesture. “I wish people would stop being so entitled though. We get it you’re overpowered as fuck.” He rolled his eyes.

”Woah, slandering your own people are you? Have Ranboo and I made a difference on you?” Tommy asked jokingly.

”Haha, don’t act like Philza isn’t your dad.” Tubbo laughed.

They laughed and joked while walking through the corridor. They eventually met up with Ranboo and went to wait outside their first class together. The only good thing about Thursday morning was that his first class had his two friends.

”How’s the plan working out?”

”Just fine, a little too easy if I have anything to say about it but since it helps with the mission it’s good.”

”Great, let’s begin then.”
