Summary:

KuroKen Week 2021 Day 1 - Domestic

Tetsurou truly loved the weekend; no work to worry about, no stress about deadlines. It was just him under this big house with his two worlds within an arm’s reach.

Notes:

Happy KuroKen Week everyone! Here is some domestic fluff for my first entry of the week!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Ever since he was small, Tetsurou only dreamt of one thing – and that was to have a home to return to. No, his home in Tokyo didn’t count. It was his home, sure, but having a roof over his head didn’t count as a home for Tetsurou. What Tetsurou considered home was the living embodiment of it.

Tetsurou let out a tired sigh, toeing off his shoes the moment he walked through the front door. He loosened his tie as he set his briefcase down by the shoe shelf. “I’m home!” He called out to the empty and dark hallway.

Normally, back when Tetsurou was still living in Nerima Ward, he would hate going home. His house was empty most of the time with his grandparents and father being busy with work or local volunteering. It was always cold and empty in that house, no one to welcome him home, to ask him about how his days went.

But that was not the case anymore after they had moved a bit closer to the center of Tokyo. Still not Roppongi Hill, but that’s okay.

Tetsurou quietly climbed the stairs and entered the first room on his right. The door was already slightly opened so he invited himself in, poking his head through the crack and a fond smile immediately found home on his face.

Yep. This was what going home is all about now.

The sight of his husband sitting on the giant beanbag, passed old cold with his head drooping to the side. His eyes moved down at the little bundle that his husband was holding onto so tightly – their little sunshine that came into this world just 5 months ago. It was so soft, so pure that Tetsurou couldn’t help but to admire the view with a lovesick look on his face. He preserved the moment with a quick sneak photo before heading over to carefully extract the little bundle. The moment Tetsurou managed to grab their son, he could see Kenma had shifted and he chuckled lightly.

“Your parental instinct is really a natural, Kenma…” He settled the infant into the crib before turning to the bigger baby. He knelt down, brushing his hand to his face to caressed it softly. “I’m home.”

“Mmm…” Kenma let out a tired groan but didn’t wake up. Tetsurou let out a quiet chuckle and slipped his arms underneath Kenma to scoop him up, steadying him in his arms.

Tetsurou began to turn and carried the love of his life to their bedroom, planting a quick kiss on his forehead while on the way. “Thank you for your hard work, papa.” He whispered softly as Kenma leaned onto his touch, humming.

“We’ome home, Tetsu…” He slurred almost incoherently, earning a smile from his husband. Tetsurou set the streamer down onto the bed, reassuring him that he’ll return quickly after a quick shower and change of clothes.

Everything he wished for in his ideal home was right here in his arms, all snuggled up under his protection. Tetsurou truly can’t trade for anything else when his whole world was right here. Well, not until a huge cry broke out, screaming into their ears from the baby monitor on their nightstand. Tetsurou let out a tired huff and could feel Kenma pushing himself out of his grasp.

“Kyanma… Don’t leave me~” He whined, struggling to open his eyes to try to grab his husband, to pull him back in.

“Kou is more important right now. Go get some more sleep.” Kenma gave his head a quick ruffle before leaving the room.

“I can’t sleep without you here…” Tetsurou whimpered, shifting to the side so he could stare at the opened door. At least the house had quiet down to a reasonable level and less than 2 minutes later, Kenma walked in with their son in his arms. The smile on the former Nekoma captain was almost immediate as he quickly opened his arms in a very quiet but loud invitation.

Kenma scoffed at the sight, walking over to set the infant down in between them before using one of Tetsurou’s arms as a pillow. After Kenma had settled down,  Tetsurou’s free arm found home around his husband’s waist once more.

“You’re like a huge baby.”

“No, I’m just in love.” Tetsurou grinned at Kenma, seeing the slight blush on his cheeks.

“You’re a sap.”

“Only for you, Mr. Kodzuken.” He sung and glanced down at their son. He moved his free hand that was comfortably resting on Kenma’s hip to poke at his son’s cheek instead. “He has such a mochi cheek.”

“It’ll deflate if you keep poking it.”

“Then…” Tetsurou glanced up to poke at Kenma’s cheek instead, “I’ll poke his dad’s.”

“Don’t be ridiculous.” He swatted his hand away, “go back to sleep. You came home late last night, didn’t you?”

Tetsurou hummed and closed his eyes, his hand moving back to their son and smiled when the infant had grabbed onto his finger.

Tetsurou woke up once again but this time, instead of the baby monitor blaring off into his ears or the sound of his own son crying, it was the cursed ringtone from his phone instead. He grumbled, moving onto his back so he could reach for it resting on the nightstand but he didn’t. He was just staring at it resting on the nightstand while the ringtone kept on playing.

“Stop glaring daggers on your poor phone and pick it up before Kou starts to join the noise pollution.” He felt a soft smack from the side.

Tetsurou immediately reached for the phone to silence the ringtone, reading the name on the screen. “It’s Kotarou…” Tetsurou pushed himself off the bed, “ Guess I’ll wake up and go prepare brunch then.” He picked up the phone and quickly walked outside. “Bold of you to disturb my beauty sleep, Kotarou.”

“Your father is too dramatic for his own good.” Kenma moved to the infant, smiling when identical gold eyes were staring back at his own. “I hope you won’t be as dramatic as him when you grow up.”

After a quick talk with Kotarou about the upcoming V-Leagues, Tetsurou freshened himself up before heading down to the kitchen to start prepping for brunch. Tetsurou truly loved the weekend; no work to worry about, no stress about deadlines. It was just him under this big house with his two worlds within an arm’s reach.

Tetsurou never really thought he’d grown this domestic or so grossly in love. With a bad childhood, Tetsurou had only wished for a home where he knew he could always come to whenever he wanted to forget all of his worries or the chaos around him. He’d always craved the warmth, the protection home used to provide him in his first 8 years of life.

But moving to Tokyo definitely changed his view on home.

After finishing cooking, Tetsurou set up the table and headed for living room to call his husband in. But his feet stopped dead in its track as he stared at the scene in front of him – of his husband sitting by the open porch to their yard, quietly humming a tune that Tetsurou found vaguely familiar while feeding their son. Kenma was staring out at the yard, listening to the birds chirping outside, to the sound of the soft wind blowing through and to the sound of the rustling grass. The scene was so serene, so godly.

Kenma really looked like an angel. How did Tetsurou get so lucky?

“Stop staring.”

He broke out of his trance, meeting the glaring golden eyes. Tetsurou chuckled lightly, walking over and plopped down beside him.

“I can’t help it. You just looked so beautiful, Kenma.” He leaned onto Kenma, kissing the top of his head.

“Am not.”

“You are.” Tetsurou peppered kisses down his face. One on his forehead, then on both sides of his cheeks and on the top of his nose. Once they were eye to eye, Kenma was glaring weakly at him, a light blush dusted his cheeks.

“Stop calling me that…”

“But you are beautiful, Kenma. I am really lucky to have someone like you in my life.” Tetsurou leaned in close the distant and they shared a quick short kiss before he pulled away. “You’re such a natural father, Kenma. And an amazing husband. I really can’t get any luckier.”

“Why are you being such a sap so early in the day…”

“It can’t be helped when I have such a beautiful husband.”

“Not a valid reason.”

Tetsurou let out a soft laugh, giving him another quick peck on the lips before moving back. He stood up and extended his hand out.

“Come on my prince. Let’s eat before it gets cold.”

Notes:

I cannot NOT add Kou into domestic hahahahaha. But this time, he's in infant form!
