“Alright boys, I have a very exciting announcement to make.” He announced, reminding Kenma of when he used to be their captain. How he would always be able to motivate the team even when they were at their lowest.
“Are you finally stopping your conman way?” Yaku shouted, earning laughter from everyone.

Every year, everyone from the Nekoma Volleyball Club would meet up at Kenma's house for a mean together. It was their annual tradition. But this year was a bit different. Kuroo had a special announcement for them.

Kuroo beamed, putting his hands on his hips and grinned widely. “I am, your highness! My life belongs to Kenma, after all!”
“Oi!” Kenma hissed, smacking his chest and Kuroo winced, turning to him.
“W-What? It’s true!” Kuroo rubbed the sting away, oblivious to the shock expression on the King and his father’s faces. “My goal is to become the Royal Guard and then get assigned to become your personal guard!” He openly declared.

Kenma is a prince who hates following traditions while Kuroo is his self-proclaimed Royal Guard. (And a very oblivious dork who often proclaimed his love for the young prince.)

“Are you two dating?” He read the question aloud and Kuroo visibly froze in his seat. It took Kenma a bit too long for his liking before he shook his head, “we are not. Just friends.”
“We’re childhood friends so I guess some of our actions may have confused people.” Kuroo added, nodding. “Even our friends get confused a lot too.”

He looked around, hoping Kuroo was just playing a cruel joke but he then remembered the gift he got yesterday. His hand raised up to the stone around his neck, transferring his magic and watched the way it glowed.
“Kuro…?” His voice cracked slightly as he whispered onto the stone. “Please come back to me.”
