He Doesn't Bite

Summary:

Pastry is Trying to overcome her fear of cakes, and Red Velvet has the perfect cake to help her with.

Notes:

I tried my best to write from viewpoint of someone with a fear of dogs. I did have Cynophobia (fear of dogs), and I used this method to get over it, so I'm using the same with Pastry in this story.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Pastry stared at her hands, trying her best to stay calm, which was hard because she wanted nothing more then to run away and get out of this agreement she made. She agreed to meet Red Velvet here to overcome her fear of cakes.

"I can do this," She whispered to herself. She stood up, smoothing out the wringles in her skirt and fixing her veil. "Its a dumb fear, if everyone else in the kingdom can handle them, I can aswell."

The sound of leaves crunching under boots caught her attention. Pastry was turned around, her smile falling when she noticed the cake hound in his arms, with its tongue lolled out and tail wagging. Pastry felt her chest begin to hurt, the the realization and fear setting in.

"Pastry," Red Velvet slowly made his way to her, nodding towards towards the hound in his arms. "This is Chiffon." The small thing barked at its name, jumping towards her. She couldnt hold it in, tears ran down her face, her throat tightening and every nerve in her body begging her to run. She started taking slow steps backward, her gaze switching between the two.

"Its okay," Pastry watched him set the Chiffon down "Chiffon, stay." The hound laid down, allowing Red Velvet to slowly approach her.

"I cant do this." She whispered, taking deep breaths and she paced in a circle.

"You don't have to, but I think it would help if you did." She turned back towards him, drying her face with the sleves of her shirt. THey stood there for a moment, Pastry taking a breath and nodding.

"Okay." She made her way back, Red Velvet behind her, slowing down as the cake hound came back into view. Stopping right in front of it, she felt herself panic again. Red Velvet scooped up the small thing in his arms.

"He wont bite, will he?"

"He hanst before."

"Okay."

"Just hold out your hand." Pastry nodded, shutting her eyes and raising her hand infrony of Chiffon. The hound sniffed it, Red Velvet slowly bring him closer to her hand.

"You're touching him." he whispered. Pastry opened her eyes and looked down, gasping when she saw her hand resing ontop of Chiffons head. She slowly too her hand away, a smile pulling her lips.

"I did," She slowly brought her hand back back watching a Chiffon headbutted her hand, his tail wagging. "Oh my, I actually touched one!" She smiled, scratching his head softly.

Notes:

Sorry that was short, but I hope you all enjoyed it! I was reading a comment section and someone said that all Velvet/Pastry stories don't end happily, so why not add one that does.
