Valyrian Wench

Summary:

A collection of unrelated drabbles inspired by the Olympic Games, showing some disciplines I think Brienne could participate in. Our girl is a total athlete, the first time we see her is through Catelyn's eyes, and she's winning a freaking melee. Then, in Jaime's first POV, she rows, sails, swims, climbs, and dives.

Notes:

This is my second incursion in the rabbit hole that is writing fanfics. I hope you like it. Thanks to my lovely beta ladamablue for giving me the push I need it.

Chapter 1: Shot Put

Chapter Text

When she's presented in the final, Brienne can barely contain the tears, both from happiness and sadness. The occasion is special, not just because of what a final means, but because it will be her fourth and last time as a Valyrian athlete. She shows her favorite picture of her children to the camera, her most precious medals that neither her two golds nor one silver in the previous games can surpass. Genna and Duncan had to stay home with Jaime because of the pandemic. This is the first time she's in a competition without her family in the stands, they are her staunchest supporters –Jaime can be really noisy in his demonstrations. Even so, she knows they must be glued to the television, no matter the time zone difference, wishing her the best.

Notes:

Inspired by Valerie Adams' (NZL) presentation in the Shot Put final, where she showed a picture of her kids. Tokyo 2020 was her fourth Olympics. She won gold in Beijing 2008 and London 2012, silver in Rio 2016, and now bronze in Tokyo 2020.
