Work Text:
I can never forgive the you who said this to me.
Someone asked, and Cale answered. He might have done it without much thinking, but his answer made Choi Han angry.
At first he was happy at the thought that maybe Cale was thinking of him when he answered. That maybe Cale was willing to die for him the same way Choi Han would. Then at the next moment, Choi Han realized Cale was clearly disregarding himself. He didn't put too much value to his life. And that made Choi Han angry.
"Would you die for someone?"
"Probably"
What a fool Choi Han was to be happy even for just a minute, thinking that Cale was willing to die for him.
"Cale-nim" He called out to the redhead, taking a step closer, trapping Cale between himself and the closed terrace door. Cale didn't look the bit nervous, he's always been that way. So trusting, always has been trusting. Because it was Choi Han who called? No, because he doesn't care about whatever happens to him.
That thought made Choi Han frown. Displeased.
Cale just looks at him, waiting, without much reacting. And Choi Han, Choi Han is mesmerized at the man's beauty but his heart aches at the same time.
He reach out and wrapped his arms around Cale's waist, pulling the young man closer.
"Don't do it." Choi Han said, solemn. Cale didn't understand what he was trying to say, so he explains.
"Whether it is for me, or for anyone else, don't throw away your life."
You are important.
You are important to me, to everyone.
"Cale-nim"
Cale just stares. And stares. His brownish-red eyes shimmering in thought. Choi Han thinks Cale is brewing an excuse inside his head. Again, he's displeased.
Choi Han took Cale's hand in his and brought it to his lips, "Promise me, Cale-nim. You won't break a promise, won't you?"
You won't hurt me, right?
Then promise you won't ever try.
"Why?"
Was Cale's first word since the start of the conversation.
"Because I want you to promise me that you..." you won't ever throw away your life for anyone, even if its me "...will live a long life with me, that you'll let yourself grow older beside me"
Because I love you. Don't you feel the same?
"Or does Cale-nim want to make me angry?"
Something flashed through Cale's beautiful irises. Then his eyes crinkles. A small smile to his lips.
Choi Han was stunned for a minute, but quickly recovered.
"Are you worried?"
Choi Han didn't even think of what to reply.
"Yes."
Cale's smile widens quite a bit. Beautiful, Choi Han thinks. But he focuses on Cale's lips that were forming words to utter.
"Then, I promise. But in return, you'll do the same."
The one hand that Choi Han wasn't holding wraps around his neck, Cale brought their faces closer. He took advantage of the fact that Choi Han was momentarily taken off guard to take back his hand that the black haired youth was still holding and place it against his cheek.
"You don't want to hurt me, no?"
Choi Han didn't reply. His answer already obvious.
He would never do anything that would cause Cale pain, ever.
"Then do it too, promise me we'll be together until we both get tired of seeing each other's face"
Impossible.
He would never get tired of seeing Cale.
"Come on, Choi Han, I already promised, didn't I? Why are you still not saying anything?"
Choi Han contemplates for a minute, then he leans forward, pecking Cale's lips.
He was taken by surprise, Choi Han didn't give him time to react.
"I promise"
Cale was still for another second, then he lets out a hum.
"Again"
Choi Han finally smiles.
This time, he stares lovingly at the man in front of him who was closing his eyes, trying to record the sight, before he leans forward again.
It doesn't matter if Cale keeps his promise or not, Choi Han just needs to make sure Cale doesn't sacrifice himself for anyone. After all, they'll still be together until end comes.
