Work Text:
Donald decided to wake up his nephews from their everyday nap. "It had been lot easier to convince Dewey", he whispered, "he had been jumping and romping around all morning, so he was a bit more tired than usual."
While waking up the triplets, Donald noticed a well known smell. "Yuck!" It came from Louie. "Dang, looks like he needs a diaper change." Louie was the only one out of three triplets to still not be potty trained.
"Yuck!", Huey complained too.
"Louie made a stinky!", Dewey said.
"Don't worry boys, I'll change him", Donald smiled.
Donald brought Louie to the changing table, removed the diaper from him and cleaned up all that mess. "Louie", he said, "how old are you now?"
"Thwee, Unca Donald", Louie confirmed.
"Correct", Donald replied, "and you're gonna be in preschool soon. You really need to learn to poo inside the potty or toilet, your brothers do it too."
"Why do I need the pah dee?", Louie asked.
"Look at me", Donald said. "Do I wear diapers? No, I do not. We all need to relief ourselves somewhere no one else notices, and that doesn't work well with a diaper. I can't keep changing you forever."
"Sorry, Unca", Louie said with a sad look on his face.
"I am not mad at you", Donald said while bringing the powder and a fresh diaper. "I just want you to grow up a little. I understand you take a little more time than Huey and Dewey, but you gotta make some progress. Your potty training isn't that bad, you are pretty good at going Number 1. And going Number 2... we'll try again tomorrow. But on the other hand, you also had been the first one of the three to speak your first words. You're a smart kid, Louie, never forget that."
The next day, after breakfast, Donald asked Louie: "Do you need to go potty?"
Louie shook his head.
"We will try nevertheless", Donald commanded. "So you can show that you are a big boy."
Louie didn't protest, but follow his uncle to the bathroom.
Donald helped Louie on the toilet.
"Can ya stay here, Unca Donald?", Louie asked.
"Sure I can", Donald said.
He stood next to Louie and waited a couple minutes.
15 minutes later, Louie finally said with a smile on his face: "I'm done!"
"Let me see", Donald said while Louie got up.
He looked inside the toilet bowl.
"Hey, you indeed went poo!", Donald said with a smile on his face. "You finally did it! I'm so proud of you!" He gave his nephew a firm hug and flushed.
"What convinced you to manage to go this time after so many attempts?", Donald asked.
"Well", Louie said, "cause I knew you wove me and I wanted to make ya pwoud."
"And you couldn't have done it better", Donald smiled.
Over the next days and weeks, Louie would have less and less accidents, since he felt confident now. And when he still had one, his uncle would be here to cheer him up.
"Hard to believe how fast kids can grown", Donald smiled. "It's a relief to no longer have to change diapers. I bet I will kinda miss it, tho."
