Work Text:

this feels too good to let it go

"I don't want to go, Donghyuck."

“You promised me that you'd go to at least one party. We're just some weeks away from Winter Break and you still haven't done it."

“Yes, but I never gave you a date for it and as far as I know I'll still be here for two more years. I have plenty of time."

Donghyuck's gaze fell on Jaemin, who was sitting on his own bed, looking at the mountain of clothes that his friend had left while trying to choose his outfit. Surely those clothes would still be there for a few more days. Lovely little things of living with Donghyuck.

"You take tomorrow for granted, Jaemin," the mentioned huffed, not surprised by it. Donghyuck had always been the carpe diem type of person. "Think of it this way, if you go out today you won't have to do it again."

"Knowing you, you will get a way to convince me any other time so I'm pretty sure I'll have to do it again."

The brunette smiled maliciously. Surely that was his plan.

Jaemin flopped down on the bed, looking at the photos he had posted on the ceiling of his dorm room the first day he arrived in Canada. It had only been three months and yet it seemed like a lifetime.

The black-haired never thought that he would spend the last years of his degree on the other side of the world, but there he was. He didn't regret it. He liked what he had visited and seen so far. Canada had something special that Jaemin didn't quite know how to describe. It was like a feeling of well-being and familiarity, which he didn't understand since he had never been there before.

Also, Canada in winter was so beautiful Jaemin couldn't wait to put the photos he had taken in his portfolio. He knew they would help him in a professional future.

"My point is that since you have arrived you haven't gone out a single night and no, it does not count the time you had a study meeting," said Donghyuck before Jaemin could contradict him with that exact argument. For Jaemin it was a good argument.

The black-haired snorted. It was clear that Donghyuck would end up getting what he wanted, but if Jaemin was able to waste a little time arguing, he would.

Fifteen minutes. That was the most he got until the brunette made him get dressed and leave the residence. Donghyuck had insisted on dressing a little nicer that night. For what? According to him, the hockey team had won some game Jaemin didn't know about and everyone wanted to celebrate it.

Yay.

He still didn't get Donghyuck's point of pampering. In the end, if it was a party to celebrate the hockey team's win, shouldn't they be the ones well dressed? However, Jaemin wasn't going to be the one to contradict Donghyuck, he just accepted his fate. That was why he was walking towards a bar, dressed in a red sweater with a V-neck, revealing his clavicles, even though it was freaking snowing, and black leather pants that, although they made his ass look good, squeezed him from all sides. His hair was still a bit wet from the shower and one black line was drawn on his two lids, because in Donghyuck's words "everyone looks better with eyeliner".

Why lie, he knew that the only reason he wouldn't end up hooking up with someone that night would be because he didn't want to. He didn't really know if he felt like it either. Everything was to be seen.

Once they got to the bar the atmosphere was heated. There were, according to Jaemin, too many people. He didn't know what the maximum capacity of the premises was but it certainly exceeded it by far. There were even groups of people drinking at the entrance.

Damn, the thing was packed.

Before the black-haired could turn around, Donghyuck grabbed his arm as if he knew of his intentions and dragged him inside. After a lot of shoving and a few drops of who knows what on their clothes, they managed to get on the bar.

"Not so bad, hmm?"

Jaemin just grimaced, not quite sure how to respond to his friend. Was it the worst place he had ever been? The answer was obvious considering that his best friend was none other than Lee Donghyuck. Did that change the fact that he wanted to go back to his room? No, not at all.

The image of a beer in front of him snapped him out of his trance and he took it, taking a small sip and turning to Donghyuck, who seemed to be scanning the crowd of people, almost as if he was looking for someone. The brunette was looking more than nice. He, as well as Jaemin, was wearing black leather pants and a sweater with the logo of their University, which in Jaemin's opinion was very ridiculous, but in Donghyuck it seemed the perfect clothes. His hair was more brushed than Jaemin's and he even had some... Glitter? Yeah, that was definitely glitter. He looked stunning.

Jaemin leaned his elbows on the bar, his back facing to the entrance.

"Who are you looking for?"

Donghyuck looked at him for a moment before returning his gaze to roam the people. "The team hasn't arrived yet."

Jaemin shrugged. “Isn't it supposed to be like that? It's supposed to be their party, they can arrive whenever they want. I'm sure that when they appear it'll be the typical scene where everyone shuts up and looks at them as if they were God or some shit like that."

Donghyuck chuckled, shaking his head. Jaemin was very recurring when he wanted to. The black-haired had nothing against jocks, he could live with them existing. Also, Jaemin wasn't the type to put them into the box of being stupid or narcissistic as most people did. He hated prejudice. He just didn't care about sports, like at all, but the University seemed to. A little too much for what Jaemin was accustomed to.

“Yeah. Whatever. Do you wanna go dancing?"

"Damn yes. I don't want to stand up like a stick all night."

With a laugh, he and Donghyuck made their way between a wave of bodies until they reached what was supposed to be the dance floor. Rather, it was an area where the tables had been cleared, but hey, something was something.

One of the few things that Donghyuck and Jaemin had in common was dancing. The two of them had met as kids at an academy in Seoul and that was what made them such good friends over the years. Jaemin didn't know how he could have survived this new adventure without him.

It's not like Donghyuck had decided to go with Jaemin to not be alone. He had been offered a scholarship to study performing arts at the same university where Jaemin had sent his tuition to continue his photography degree.

He didn't believe in fate, but if that wasn't life screaming at them that they couldn't separate, he didn't know what it was.

After almost five or six songs, neither of them was sure, they decided to have a drink, sit down, and later, infected by Donghyuck's energy, they returned to the improvised dance floor.

This time Jaemin positioned himself behind Donghyuck, his body glued to his and his hand gripping the other's hip tightly. Donghyuck, smirking, allowed himself to be held even closer to Jaemin's chest and stretched his arm to meet the black-haired's neck. Jaemin shook his head smiling when the brunette began to move his waist, purposely rubbing his ass into Jaemin's groin exaggeratedly.

"You're a fucking tease, Lee." Jaemin's hoarse voice gave Donghyuck a chill and he sucked his lower lip as Jaemin started to keep up with him.

"You know I like to put on a good show, Na."

Yes, he knew it very well.

Looking up, he realized that, in fact, and as always, they had undoubtedly caught the attention of some people. To his right, there was a group of girls looking at them curiously. To his left, a blond smiling with his eyes fixed on Donghyuck and he didn't have to see his friend to know that he was ignoring the boy's gaze on purpose, making it seem as if he didn't know that he had all the attention of the stranger.

"Such an attention whore," Jaemin said, hearing how Donghyuck let out a little noise of false surprise, to which he laughed, continuing to dance.

Taking his eyes off the boy, who was clearly going to ask the brunette for a dance as soon as they finished the song, he looked forward, finding another black-haired boy leaning against the wall. Jaemin flinched when he saw that his eyes were poking holes in his skin. The stranger just took a long gulp of his drink, making his Adam's apple jiggle.

For an instant, Jaemin stopped breathing. The boy was possibly the most attractive person he had ever seen, and that was saying a lot.

He wasn't wearing anything special, just navy jeans and a T-shirt that clung perfectly to his torso and arms, showing how strong he was. Surely he was only one head taller than Jaemin and his body wasn't exaggeratedly big either but Jaemin was sure that his own little body could fit in his arms perfectly and the boy could lift him without any problem.

That thought made him tremble a bit.

His black hair was tousled, not on purpose but because it seemed to be his natural shape, and the corner of his mouth curved, even with the glass in front of his lips, when he realized he was no longer the only one watching.

"Oh shit."

Jaemin brought back his attention to his friend, who had turned on his arms, now facing each other, and he raised an eyebrow.

"Mark Lee was eating you with his eyes."

That made Jaemin frown, obviously confused.

"Who is Mark Lee?"

Donghyuck opened his eyes as if he didn't believe it but then he seemed to be aware that the surprising thing would be that his friend knew who he was talking about.

"The black-haired leaning against the wall who hadn't taken his eyes off you since we started dancing and who surely hasn't done it yet," Donghyuck explained with a mischievous smile.

Curious, Jaemin cast a small look to see if it was true, and yes. Those brown eyes were still fixed on Jaemin, who smiled briefly as the supposed Mark Lee licked his lips. Shortly after, he smiled back, showing perfect white teeth.

Jesus. Did he have to be so attractive?

"I'm assuming you're eye-fucking right now. Do you guys need a room? Or... Oh! Do you think you would be able to come just by gazing at each other? That would be very hot."

Rolling his eyes, Jaemin brushed a lock of hair from the brunette's forehead, who smiled gratefully at him.

“Mark Lee is a fucking hot guy. What it's so special?" He asked, ignoring his friend's question.

It was Donghyuck's turn to roll his eyes.

“He's the star Hockey player of the University. Everybody says he'll end up in the NHL."

"Mmh. With that body, I don't doubt it."

Donghyuck shoved his shoulder playfully. "Look at you. Are you sure you still want to leave?"

Jaemin cocked his head like he was really thinking about it. "If it's with him, I wouldn't mind."

"Who's the whore now, huh?"

"I've never said I wasn't, darling," Jaemin replied, winking, to which his friend laughed.

"Do you want to know the best?" Jaemin looked at him, waiting for him to continue and Donghyuck leaned closer to his ear as if he was going to tell him the biggest secret. Jaemin took advantage of their new position to throw another glance at the jock, who was pretty occupied talking to some girl. “The captain has never shown interest in anyone. Nobody, Min. But it was seeing you and he almost drooled."

That was Jaemin's turn to laugh. "Are you telling me that he's never done anything looking like that?" Donghyuck only shrugged.

“I am not telling you that the boy is a virgin, although it's unlikely. I'm telling you that in the two years he has been playing he has never been seen with anyone, much less leave a party hand in hand with someone, despite the number of people who have tried."

Mmh. Interesting.

"Maybe he makes them sign a confidentiality agreement."

Donghyuck snorted. "Whatever you say, hun. But if I was you, I would go to him right now before he changes his mind and decides to follow his lonely and boring route."

"If it's true that he has never shown interest in anyone until now, I'll let him be the one to come to me."

Donghyuck's smile widened as Cheshire's. "That's why I love you."

"Uhm, sorry."

The two friends turned towards the voice of the person who had interrupted them and it was no surprise to see that it was the blond from earlier. Jaemin smiled and broke away from Donghyuck. Their song had finished long ago but the boy had been patient enough to wait until they finished speaking.

"I'm going to get another beer. See you later."

He waved goodbye to his friend, who winked at him and threw his arms around the stranger's neck.

They looked really cute. But Jaemin wasn't sure the poor boy could handle Donghyuck. His friend was... A lot. In a good way for him. But it wasn't easy for most people to put up with him. Especially his possible flings. Their loss, Jaemin thought.

It was twenty minutes later when he was certain that he wouldn't be seeing the brunette until the next day. Oh God, it would be so funny to see him doing the walk of shame. It had been a while since he had done it. But the point was that he had lost sight of his friend, and sadly, the hockey captain as well. So maybe Donghyuck had been wrong.

Sighing, he sat down on one of the couches in the bar. There was no one else there. Understandable as it was placed in a corner, quite separate from the bar itself. The party was still going on but there weren't as many people as before, but there was a lot still. Jaemin had been lucky to find that empty couch.

He didn't know how long it had been since they had arrived. Maybe two hours or even three. Jaemin had drunk, danced, alone and with a few people, and drank again. So no, it's not that he didn't like parties. He liked them, he enjoyed them, but most of the time he was simply lazy or the parties weren't worth it.

That had been a good one and he was satisfied. He hadn't gotten the future NHL star to talk to him but at least he'd had fun and even some new phone numbers.

Jaemin was about to get up to leave when someone sat next to him on the couch. It was probably some drunk who could no longer stand and was about to vomit. On top of him if he didn't hurry.

"You are possibly the first person to avoid me."

Frowning, Jaemin tilted his head and his mouth parted in surprise. Apparently, Donghyuck hadn't been wrong. 'I'm never wrong, duh.'

Mark, as Donghyuck had named the boy, smiled intrigued at him, placing one of his arms on the back of the couch, behind Jaemin's back.

If he had already found him attractive from afar, he was even more attractive up close. His hair was still as crazy as before and although this time he no longer had any drinks in his hands he did have little beads of sweat running down his neck.

Jaemin bit his lip, refraining from saying something completely stupid, like offering to wipe the sweat away with his tongue. But he wasn't going to think about that right now.

"Maybe I don't like hockey players," Jaemin replied, leaning his back on the back of the couch, very close to Mark's arm. That made his skin tingle.

Mark just looked at him with a small smile before speaking again. "I'm sorry for you then because I don't think you've come to the right place, considering it's crawled with hockey players."

Jaemin gave a small laugh, nodding. "I suppose you're right, but it's impossible to tell my friend no."

That seemed to get the Canadian's attention, who turned his body completely to Jaemin. "Is your friend the first boy you've danced with?"

Jaemin looked at him with a raised eyebrow and narrowed his eyes.

“How do you know that I have danced with more guys?" Jaemin's eyes pierced the other's face. "Was my friend by any chance right and you were eating me with your eyes, Lee?" asked Jaemin amused.

Mark didn't seem surprised by what Jaemin had just said, much less that he had been caught making him eyes.

"It's hard not to" Mark's eyes swept over Jaemin's body, pausing for a long moment at his collarbones and he swore he had seen Mark swallow hard, before looking back into his eyes, smiling sideways. Jaemin's cheeks turned a light pink and he looked at his hands.

"Yeah, he was the first guy I've ever danced with."

The boy next to him seemed pleased with the response and the reaction he had gotten from Jaemin.

"I think I saw him eating Huang's mouth a few minutes ago."

Jaemin snorted. "Of course." He shook his head but inside he was happy for his friend. It seemed as if someone had been able to put up with his friend in the end.

"For a moment I wondered if he was cheating on you."

Jaemin couldn't contain the laugh that came out of him. It wasn't the first time someone thought that he and Donghyuck were something more than friends. The answer was a clear no, but he didn't blame him for having thought about it. They would make a hot and pretty couple.

"Then I remembered you're way too beautiful to be cheated on. And in that case, you're better without someone who can't see what they have at their side."

Oh, fuck off LeeThat's playing dirty.

“Maybe we have an open relationship. Or we were looking for someone else who share our bed with," Jaemin teased, ignoring completely what the other had said, even if his heart fluttered harder because of it. What Jaemin had said was obviously not the case, but why not have a little bit of fun with Mark's curiosity? There was no harm in it, right?

"But you are not," deadpanned Mark seriously. As if it could never be an option. Jaemin almost laughed at the way the other's smile had dropped so quickly.

“Yeah, no. I guess you're lucky. And so as you know, I don't like sharing what's mine."

Heat passed through Mark's eyes. "Me neither," he replied hoarsely.

Jaemin ignored the feeling in his stomach when he heard Mark's voice and nodded. He wasn't entirely sure where Mark wanted to end up but Jaemin was going to keep his word. He wasn't going to throw himself to him, even if he ached for it.

"What's your name? I just realized that I don't know the name of the person who has had my attention all night."

Jaemin settled into place, a small chill running through his body as Mark's fingers caressed lightly the exposed skin of his nape.

"Do you even know the names of all the people in this bar?" Questioned Jaemin curiously as he focused all his attention on Mark, trying to ignore his goosebumps. If Mark had noticed, which he had, he said nothing. He just tilted his head.

Somehow or another they were closer than Jaemin remembered and now he could smell the bitter beer coming from Mark's lips along with a slight aftershave scent. Without noticing it, his gaze had gone from his eyes to his lips and oh, they were pretty pink lips. Mark seemed to notice, because he moved slightly closer to Jaemin, their bodies brushing and his fingers still gently stroking his skin.

"Only from those who interest me."

Damn Mark Lee who knew how to make Jaemin's legs shake. It might have been too long since Jaemin had flirted or received so much attention but he couldn't remember a time when someone had gotten him to react like that.

"I interest you?" Whispered Jaemin, his eyes going up to Mark's, who for the second time that night wetted his lips with his tongue and got close enough to Jaemin. The smell from before hit him again. Almost intoxicating.

However, Mark turned his face, leveling up his mouth to Jaemin's ear, nearly touching it.

"More than what you think."

Jaemin swallowed hard, his throat dry. Mark's voice tickled him as well as his breath, making his skin itch. His heart began to beat at an incredibly fast rate, and he unconsciously leaned his body forward, his forehead falling on Mark's shoulder.

Since when was he this weak for a boy? All he knew was that his body seemed jelly.

Mark didn't move and having his breath right on Jaemin's ear worsened the boy's well-being at the same time that was making him just want to throw everything to hell, grab Mark's face, and taste once and for all those lips. Would they also taste like beer?

But he refused to do it.

Why? Because Donghyuck telling him that he was the first to attract Mark's attention wasn't enough for him. He wanted more. He wanted to be the first one Mark would kiss at a party, the first one Mark wanted to touch in front of everyone, and the first one to leave a bar with. But above all, he wanted to be the first one to whom Mark dared to throw himself.

Jaemin wanted that and more.

“It's Jaemin," he announced with a shaky breath.

"Jaemin..." Mark whispered in his ear, slowly, as he was testing how it sounded to say it.

The named groaned. His name sounded so good coming out of that mouth.

A hand settled on his thigh, drawing little circles. Jaemin almost screeched as a pair of lips settled on his neck.

"Shit," Jaemin blurted out, shuddering at the feel of Mark's tongue making contact with his tender skin. Jaemin decided to let him do whatever he wanted for a while. It felt like a wave of heat swept through his body every time Mark kissed hard his skin, or when he let his teeth pop out. God. Jaemin hadn't known kisses could be this wonderful until now.

Shivering slightly, he drew his hand to the other's hair and lightly tugged at it, separating Mark from his neck, keeping only a small distance between their faces.

"What do you want?" Jaemin asked with his eyes closed, voice deep. His breathing quickened again as the hand that was on his thigh came up and gripped his flesh tightly above his pants, dangerously close to his crotch.

"You. I want you, Jaemin” Mark blurted out. "Please."

Fuck it. Jaemin adored when boys begged him. It made him go nuts.

"Then have me."

As soon as he said those three words, Mark's lips fell on Jaemin's. They both grunted at the sensation. Mark's lips tasted like beer and were deliciously soft. Jaemin couldn't help himself and he nibbled on them. They were perfect. Mark sighed happily and with his other hand, he cupped Jaemin's face, keeping it in place while slightly opening his mouth, running his tongue over Jaemin's lower lip, who immediately opened his mouth, more than happy to do so.

The moment his tongue made contact with Mark's was like touching the sky for Jaemin. He couldn't help it and moaned on Mark's mouth, making Mark kiss him even harder, wanting to get another sound like that from him. In one swift movement, Mark had him on his lap. The jock had used his strength just as Jaemin expected and knowing that he could actually manhandle his body as he wanted, so lightly and easily, made his dick twitch.

"Fuck."

They both parted, trying to catch up for air. Mark's hands rested on Jaemin's waist with force, not wanting him to move but Jaemin being Jaemin couldn't stop himself from moving until he placed his ass on top of Mark's remarkable erection, making the poor boy throw back his head, his mouth open and his chest rising rapidly.

"Jaemin..." Mark moaned softly as Jaemin began to lay wet kisses along his neck and jaw. Jaemin just hummed, very happy that the only thing the boy beneath him could say and think was him. As he should. And just to tease him a bit more, he grinded slowly his ass, drawing little curses from Mark and making his own pants start to tighten even more.

"Sweetheart, this is—shit, fuck, Jaemin," Mark started to say. Taking out all the self-control he had left, he grabbed Jaemin's hips, stopping his movements, making him whimper. "I'd rather have you doing all this in my bed and with no clothes."

Jaemin pulled away, leaving a small bite at his neck, and looked at him with his eyes half-closed. Mark hadn't seen anything so precious until now.

Jaemin was a sin he was willingly ready to commit.

"Not a fan of exhibitionism, huh?"

Mark laughed softly, resting his cheek in the palm of Jaemin's hand, who smiled at him.

"Maybe another time."

"Who tells you there'll be another time, superstar?" Jaemin bit down on Mark's lower lip and tugged on it before releasing it. Mark's eyes clouded with lust.

"Oh sweetheart, I'll make sure that the only thing you'll want after tonight is me. Only me. Trust me."

They both smiled because it was clear that there wasn't a chance Jaemin would say no to repeating whatever was going to happen between them that night. Something told Jaemin that it would be very difficult for him to say no to this boy from now on.

"I think you said something about your bed and no clothes," Jaemin muttered, stroking his thumb over Mark's cheek.

The Canadian gave him a chaste kiss on the lips before patting his thigh in a signal for him to get up. Jaemin did it with clumsy movements. He had forgotten that his legs were shaking, same as his entire body, and if it weren't for the firm grip of Mark's arm at his waist he would have already fallen.

It cost a bit, but after some shoving and insults on the way, they managed to get out of the bar in record time. All while holding hands, surprising everyone they crossed paths with.

Because for the first time in two years, Mark Lee had decided to go with someone. With him. And to Jaemin's greatest delight, it had been the hockey captain himself who had been the first to go after him. Because he chose him. Mark desired him and he had wanted the first time he decided to do something like that to be with him, although Jaemin didn't know that last part.

Fucking crazy if you ask them.
