Zenitsu could feel his eyelids growing heavy, occasionally slipping closed. He was attempting to pull an all-nighter with only Inosuke as Tanjirou had passed out as soon as his head hit the pillow. Living with five siblings meant having company but never being alone, especially in a small house like the one the Kamado family resided in.
They were having the sleepover at Inosuke’s house due to his step-dad spoiling him with a new gaming console for finally getting somewhat decent grades. Of course Inosuke being Inosuke, he had to show it off to his friends which led to where they are now. On a pile of messily placed blankets and pillows on his bedroom floor playing video games.
Inosuke challenged Zenitsu to an all nighter after watching Tanjirou fall fast asleep. Stupidly, he agreed, thinking he could do it. He discreetly tried to rub the sleep out of his eyes without being caught by the other boy. He was staring intensely at the decently sized TV with his tongue sticking out of the side of his mouth. Zenitsu’s attempt at being discreet failed when he let out a yawn, catching the attention of Inosuke. Inosuke quickly glanced at the clock that read 3am before looking back at the other boy who was nodding off, head falling down and shooting back up in a never ending cycle.
“You don't actually have to stay up, ya know.” Inosuke whispered. Zenitsu slowly turned to him, eyes partially closed and yawned again before turning back to the game, not wanting to accept defeat. Inosuke huffed and turned it off in retaliation. He was getting bored of kicking Zenitsu’s ass anyways.
Zenitsu slumped over to his side, head softly falling on Inosuke’s lap, smiling contently. He nearly jumped out of his skin when Zenitsu nuzzled into his thighs. “I think I'm just gonna lay right here.” He yawned, slightly giggling at his own antics. Damn punk knew exactly what he was doing. The pair had been dancing around their very clear feelings for quite sometime now. Zenitsu teased him from time to time but this was completely new territory.
“You're out of your goddamn mind!” Inosuke whisper-shouted but the older boy’s eyes fluttered shut and semi loud snores filled the silent room. Inosuke was trapped, his legs were already falling asleep just from sitting on them but now he couldn't even move. Carefully he removed Zenitsu’s head from his lap and placed it on a nearby pillow. He was the only one still in his day clothes so he quickly changed into his pajamas which were really just an old pair of plaid pants with 5 different holes in them.
Once he was ready for bed he laid next to Zenitsu. Tanjirou had taken up his entire bed and left room for the family dog. The same family dog who only liked his step-dad and apparently now Tanjirou. Inosuke cautiously pulled Zenitsu closer until he was practically on top of him, head now resting on his bare chest. Hesitantly he ran his hands through the blonde’s hair. It was a little rough due to the mass amount of bleach and heat damage it had endured but the feeling wasn't entirely unbearable. Zenitsu hummed in content and cuddled closer, pressing their bodies together even further.
Inosuke felt his face go hot but continued combing the knotted mop supposed to be Zenitsu’s hair. After a few minutes of detangling his hair Inosuke felt his arms start to slump. He sleepily planted a quick goodnight kiss on his forehead, hugging him close before joining in with the other two in peaceful slumber.
