“I want to tell you something, but you can’t freak out,” Bianca said to her parents who were sitting in the living room.
“It’s a guy thing, isn’t it?” Nico complained. He understood that his 17-year-old daughter dating shouldn’t come as a surprise to him, but he wished she wasn’t dating anyone.
“Yes, it is a guy thing. You said that I can date whoever I want If I give you a heads up.” Bianca said on the couch across from them.
“That’s right. So when is your date?” Will asked.
She stared at them awkwardly, “Actually I have a boyfriend.” She said with a slow and steady tone.
“Who is it?”
Bianca shrugged. “Here’s the issue. You know him. Very well.”
“Oh no.” Nico got worried by the first boy that came to his mind that Bianca could date. “Just say it.”
“I’m dating Charlie.”
“Oh, Gods. No.” Nico said and turned to Will. “I told you something like this would happen.” His worst nightmare came true. Bianca was dating Percy’s and Annabeth’s son.
“That’s not the point. We’re going out on Saturday.” Bianca got up. “You can discuss it all you want and overanalyze it when I’m in my room and we pretend that you aren’t actually about it.” Then she left the room.
Nico made sure that Bianca wouldn’t hear what he was about to say. “So what are we going to do?”
“About what?” Will asked him.
Nico rolled his eyes. “She’s going out with Percy’s son. He’s going to corrupt her.”
“You’re being paranoid. If any of Percy and Annabeth’s children is to corrupt Bianca, it’s Zoe. Let her date. What is the worst that can happen?” Will was far more relaxed about Bianca dating than Nico.
“They get married,” Nico stated the obvious.
“Slow down cowboy. She is just going on a date with him. They are friends since they were three. She obviously likes him-“
“Obviously? How is it so obvious that I missed it?”
“She told us that she is dating. When the whole Tyler situation was going on she was too secretive like she was ashamed. Charlie will be good for her.” Both of them knew how horrible it was when Bianca’s previous boyfriend had broken up with her.
“I hope so. I don’t want her to go through the same stuff.”
“I have to go to the hospital. I’ll see you later. Don’t do anything stupid while I’m gone.”
“Like what?”
“Just stay out of trouble.” Will gave him a sympathetic look while he got out of the house.
Nico wouldn’t stay at the house doing nothing. He went to Percy’s house through the kitchen door which was always open during the day. “Hey, Nico,” Percy said without even lifting his head from what he was doing.
“How did you know that it was me?”
“I knew you were coming.” He turned off the stove.
“Do you know about Charlie and Bianca?” Nico asked.
“Yes, what’s up with them?”
Nico wasn’t sure if it was his place to continue talking. “Don’t you know about them?” He emphasized the last part.
“Dating? Yes, I know.” Percy started mixing something that was boiling in the kitchen. “And you’re here to threaten me?”
“I am not sure of what I’m planning to do, to be honest." He said. He had imagined giving Percy a lecture on telling his son to stop dating his daughter and all that, but Percy's lack of interest wasn't inspiring. "What's up with you?" Nico asked him confused.
"Nothing. Why?"
"I march inside your house ready to lecture you and you don't even tell me a not my type joke."
"Your daughter gave my son a hickey."
