Chapter Text
Atsumu was walking through the halls when he saw four members of the first division rushing past him "Shirabu, did something happen?" Shirabu, who was running behind the other four, stopped in front of him, his face disinterested as always as he spoke. "No, not really" and he continued walking past him, as if that was helpful at all, it wasn't, but Atsumu ignored it and continued walking to his department.
"Hey everyone." he said, while walking into the room, a pile of books on his hands. He walked past Tanaka to get to his own desk, hearing the sounds of... some odd kind of porn... ad? He isn't exactly sure. "Sheesh. This damn website with their ads." he heard the man complain, mostly to himself.
"The guys in First Division are in a flurry. You heard anything?"
"I don't know anything in particular" He didn't know why he asked, Tanaka wasn't exactly the kind of guy who would know what was going on.
The phone ringed, "Hello, Modern Crimes Force." he said with practiced ease; the person on the other side was from the security department, asking for backup. Again. "Yes. understood." he turned to his boss, Bokuto. "Chief, the security department says they're short on manpower, so they'd like a couple of us as backup for the Classic Car Festival in Ginza"
"Okay, I'm trusting you with it"
"I'll go, and then one more person..." He looked around the room; Suga was sitting at the resting area, drinking a cup of tea, with Yachi in front of him, eating another one of her weird snacks. "Always so sudden, talking as they please... we ain't that bored" Noya said, slapping the desk, Atsumu could see he was currently busying himself with writing his... ninth paper about horse racing. There was only one person left that he could take with him, "Tanaka."
"Ah, no, i just found this website that I can't overlook and-"
"I heard that Kiyoko from Security has been deployed as well" he said, cutting off the bald man's excuse, he knew that would surely convince the other to come along with him. "She is? Let's go, then, Miya-san!" he sighed and got up, following Tanaka out, telling the rest of the department that they'd be back at around 17:00pm.

"I heard the First Division guys drink at a pretty nice place in this area" Atsumu was driving them to the festival while Tanaka filled in the silence with endless chatter about different subjects, it was oddly kinda relaxing, even if his voice was particularly annoying to hear sometimes. "Oh, that reminds me, you used to be in First Division, righ-" he stepped on the brakes as the light turned red, making the other crash his head against the car dashboard. "Sorry" he said, even though they both knew he didn't mean it, Tanaka should know by now that talking about his time in the First Division was not something he was interested in.
"What's that? Looks amazing." a bit in front of them, partially hidden by the people walking in front of it, was a car, a very fancy, probably very expensive, car that, in Atsumu's opinion, looked kinda ugly. "It's not a car someone with a respectable job would ride."
$$$
"Quite the scene we've got here." Cars all passed by slowly, giving people time to appreciate their beauty, he didn’t really understand why people got excited over old cars, but he wouldn’t judge their odd tastes.
"Apparently, the prince of Abura Emirates will be participating; I heard he's quite the speed demon, scooping up cars left and right with his oil money"
"Anyways, aren't there too many?" Atsumu asked, not very interested in the display in front of him, "there's never too many" he heard his friend mumble to himself.
"Where is Kiyoko?" He wasn't even sure she had been deployed; it was just an educated guess that would convince the other to come with him.
"Man, we're getting worked to the bone with cheap pay, and they get to ride cars like these." The pay shouldn't be the reason for him to be working this job, it should be for justice; He told him as much, hearing yet another stupid comment from the other, talking about his stubborness and guessing that was the reason he was taken out of the First Division, he was ready to retort when he saw what seemed to be two of the First Division's members on the other side of the road.

"Its 35 more minutes until 12 o'clock."
"Shirabu! You got a case?" Said man looked up from the watch on his wrist to look at Atsumu and Tanaka, who were running up to him, the blonde faster than the other, even if he was over three years older than him. "It has nothing to do with you" The copper haired male said (quite rudely) in response.
"What do you mean?"
"We're saying this is a case for the First Division and you're not authorized personnel" His partner, Ushijima, spoke before he could respond to the confused man in front of him. He heard a sound coming from his earpiece; Atsumu took it from him to listen to the information intended for only the First Division. "A man suspected of being the bomber targeting the prince has been located. Target is fleeing, currently in Ginza district 1, heading towards Tokyo Station." the voice repeated what had been said twice "What the hell is going on?" The earpiece was taken back from him. "I said, this has nothing to do with you anymore!"
"Suspect under custody! I repeat, suspect under custody!"
"If there was advance warning of a crime, why didn't you make them cancel the event?" Shirabu told him they had, but that there was interference from the Kantei, who insisted in the prince's visit being at that time. "That's a completely different matter, human lives are at stake!" He really hadn't changed, still trying to save as many lives as he could, brandishing a naive justice, even if he was no longer part of the First Division, they all knew that the police needed to be in good terms with the government as a public office.

"This place would be fine, wouldn't it?" Yaku pointed at a jewelry store, they passed by multiple of them, each declined with a poor excuse from the tall man next to him. "No, then that place we saw earlier was better than this one"
"You think so? This place looks pretty good though"
They walked around more, finding yet another store. "What about here?"
"That guy, I'm sure he knows some judo. Look at his potsticker ears."
"But we have this, too." he said, clutching his purse and looking at Lev. "Don't underestimate judo! Those chokeholds are nothing to laugh at! They'd take you down in an instant!"
"Are you sure you're serious about this?" He was seriously starting to doubt Lev at this point (as if he wasn't always doubting his boyfriend's stupid ideas)
Each store, a different excuse, all of them equally ridiculous, but still making sense in an odd way. "What about here? The guard looks like an old man"
"No way. Veterans are the worst. If he can do the job as a security guard, that means he has a lot of experience. If we can find somewhere with a frail-looking girl as the guard..." Yaku had enough, he was tired of walking aimlessly trying to find a store up to the silver haired's standards, he started walking away when a hand grabbed his wrist, stopping him. He begged and begged for Yaku not to abandon him; he saw something out of the corner of his vision. "That place looks good! Looks like they got money, and no security guard in sight!"
Having settled on a target, they quickly put on their cat-like masks, entering the shop.
"Hands up!" Yaku said; there were only two people in there, a customer and a clerk, both equally surprised. "Hurry up and raise them!" They scaredly raised their hands. "Put all the money and jewelry you've got in here" he swung the empty red backpack onto the desk, keeping his gun pointed at the woman.
"We have no jewelry." The woman said, both of them stood there confused, before realizing that instead of a jewelry shop, it sold chocolates. Fancy chocolates, but still chocolates.
"They're chocolates" Lev walked forward and took one of them, putting it into his mouth and realizing something. "Hm, these aren't sweet..."
"Those are made of 75% cacao, and what we're famous for" she explained quickly. It might not be jewelry, but at least it was still tasty, at least in Yaku's opinion, Lev wasn't exactly fond of the lack of sweetness.

"The explosives seem to still be in the car the suspect had been using." Atsumu and Tanaka were next to Shirabu, trying to listen to the sound coming from the earpiece, Shirabu didn't care enough to interfere. "The car is a white van, with Fukunishi Cleaning on the sides." the voice repeated the message as the blonde stepped away, seeing the exact van described in front of what seemed to be a chocolate shop. At that moment, two people came rushing out of the shop, bumping into Kiyoko, who seemed to appear from nowhere. "Kiyoko!" Tanaka said while rushing to her side. "Are you alright?" at the comfirmation from her, he turned to the two, "Hey, what the hell are you-"
"Shut up!" aaaaaaaaaand he got shot, okay then. He fell to the ground and Kiyoko gasped, rushing to his side while the two ran into the van and sped off, Shirabu and his partner quickly got onto their car and started chasing after them, leaving him with the menace that was his 'friend'. "Tanaka!"
"Kiyoko. I always thought of you as..." his head fell to the side as he trailled off, seemingly dying in her arms as the woman started tearing up slightly. Atsumu kicked him on the shoulder. Violently. Because now was not the time to be overly-dramatic, also because he was being annoying, he kicked him a second time for good measure. "Hurry up and get on your feet." The bald man raised his hand and touched the spot he was shot in, it was just paint; Kiyoko looked at him unninpressed, moving him off of her lap and practically pouting.
"Twenty-five more minutes." Atsumu looked at the watch, he considered going after them as well, but decided against it, hearing sounds coming from the festival behind him.
"What the fuck" he muttered, looking at what seemed to be the same ugly ass car he'd seen on his way to the festival, bumping into all the cars in front of it. A woman and her kid were still on the road as the car got closer and he ran in front of them so they wouldn’t get run over, it turned and crashed onto the pole.
He rushed to the car, opening the door. "What the hell are you thinking?! You're under arrest for obstruction of police-" the man inside the car was... beautiful, he wasn't exactly good at describing people; he would have blushed if the man hadn't blown a puff of smoke from his cigar right. Onto. His face. He might be pretty with his stupid black hair and his tailored suit, but that was extremely disrespectful. "Sakusa Kiyoomi" the man introduced himself, and damn, even his voice was pretty, although it sounded very arrogant. "As of today, I have been appointed as Inspector of the Metropolitan Police Detective Division."
"Inspector, you say? Hey! Give me more details on..." He ignored him, walking towards a mostly blue car, slapping his hand on it and looking under it, muttering to himself. "Get off. This car will be purchased by the Metropolitan police." the man laughed after the woman translated to him what Sakusa had said. "I'll sell it for 300 million. Tell that to this poor-looking cop..." He grabbed the man (who Atsumu realized was the prince) by the collar and threw him onto the floor, hearing the woman tell him that he couldn't do that to the seventh prince of the Abura Emirates (obviously, but that didn’t stop him from doing so). He put on what seemed to be sunglasses and took the wallet out of the man's jacket, inspecting it and taking out the credit card before throwing both of them back at the prince. "HEUSC, my checks"
"As you wish"
"I transfered you a billion yen. Keep the change" he said and got onto the newly purchased car.
"Deposit complete. Balance: Unlimited" said the disembodied voice. The car started moving, Atsumu ran up to it and jumped on before it left, hearing some old man complain about 'watching where they were going'

"There's only 80k in here. I didn't think it was a chocolate shop" Lev sighed, picking up another chocolate even if he'd previously mentioned he didn't like it, Yaku took one as well, eating it as he drove the van. "Let's turn ourselves in. There's no way we can outrun them" they heard the sound of police sirens, the platinum haired boy started panicking, earning a shove from the other for being too loud.
"What the hell is going on?"
"I don't care! Just stop! Let's hurry and turn ourselves in..."
"Let’s go as far as we can"
$$$
"You're going after the perp, right?" The dark haired man ignored him, asking whoever 'HEUSC' was for the location of the car. "Lead them towards Kachidoki Bridge, get rid of all the police cars, too"
"What's the meaning of this? You're making quite the show here. How are you going to take responsability for this?" ignored again as he asked 'HEUSC' to identify all individuals, vehicles and buildings involved in the commotion and send reimboursment for double the damage cost.
"Who are you talking to?"
"My butler" He finally replied. Other than their car, most of the street was empty, due to the butler's meddling with the system and creating traffic jams everywhere.
"The target vehicle will arrive at Kachidoki Bridge shortly."
It was already 11:56; there was no way they'd get there on time. "We won't make it. We have to evacuate the residents in the area" And Sakusa went back to ignoring him, fucking great.
"Yaku, I'm really sorry i got you roped into something like this."
"All things considered, something isn't right" He said, referring to the lack of cars, not the idea of robbing a jewelry shop.
"You're right. Robbing a jewelry shop in Ginza was such a silly thing..." They were going through the bridge when it started coming up, making the car start sliding down. He stepped on the brakes to get them back on stable ground faster before they crashed onto something. They looked back, seeing a blue car behind them, pushing them forward, Sakusa had a smirk on his face as he looked at them, they screamed in surprise and fear. "It's going to blow! What the fuck are you doing?"
"Isn't it obvious? I'm dropping it into the river" He started pushing it to the left, making it scrape along the side of the bridge. "I'm sorry, Yaku" Lev opened the door, rolling out of the van, hurting himself a bit by his clumsiness. "You're kidding! You're kidding me, right, Lev? I'll fucking kill you!" He said, with slight tears in his eyes out of fear. Hearing the man's distress, Atsumu jumps over the car and gets onto the van. "Who are you?"
"Move!" He says as he puts a hand on the steering wheel, getting it away from the railling. 11:59:51, only a few seconds until the bomb exploded.
"Hurry up and jump out!" the van was halfway off the bridge and they needed to be fast to get the bomb in water before it exploded. He jumped out just in time before it fell out, with Atsumu still inside. The van started sinking as the bomb finally exploded, Yaku slid on the water, getting safely on ground, seeing Lev in front of him. "Yaku... are you alright?" he walked off, ignoring his stupid question. Once again, a hand grabbed his wrist, stopping him from walking. "Give me a fucking break!"
"I'm so glad you're okay, Yaku! I can't do anything without you" he said, crying and hugging him. "Lev..." he hugged him back, tears coming to his eyes.
Sakusa got out of the car and started walking in the direction of the bridge, Atsumu hung off of it with some blood on his forehead, he smirked as the annoyed blonde's hands slipped off and he fell into the water.
- The next day –
"Good morning, Chief" Bokuto looked up, seeing Atsumu coming in. "The incident report..."
"Looks like they're okay without one", he walked into the office and sat down next to Tanaka as usual. "Did you hear? Apparently the damages for this case were paid double the market price for" At that, the door opened, revealing one Sakusa Kiyoomi, looking as pretty arrogant and fancy as ever, he could almost hear a band playing some kind of fancy jazz song as he walked into the office, looking like a (pretty) anime protagonist. "I'm so glad you came!" Bokuto said while walking towards him. "This is Sakusa Kiyoomi. He'll be joining our ranks as of today" He tuned out what Chief was, instead focusing on the fact that he was right there, in front of him, and that they'd be working together.
He later walked out onto the roof of the building, finding Sakusa, once again smoking a cigar. "What the hell was that? That's not the way a cop handles things. You're not a superhero. Infinite lives would not be enough"
"Ah, I see. So, how much?" he wanted to wipe off that stupid(ly beautiful) smirk off his face.
"You fucking bastard!"
