Work Text:

"Hey, what are you doing up here?"

Tohru turned her head to see Kyo climbing onto the last step of the ladder and making his way towards her.

"Kyo-kun! Why are you up at this hour? Shouldn't you be sleeping?"

Kyo sits down next to her and sighed, "I should be the one asking you that."

"Well... I–I guess I'm just nervous about actually moving away tomorrow. I know I've said it before, but I really am going to miss everyone and I just–"

Tears started spilling from her eyes and Tohru quickly placed both of her hands over her face.

"S–Sorry, I'm just going to miss all the memories we've made these past few years. Everyone I've met here has played such an important role in my life. It doesn't feel real sometimes. I'm sorry for crying and for making such a big deal out of this," Tohru concluded, her hands muffling her speech.

Kyo looked at her with a soft expression. "Hey... just because we're moving away and leaving this place behind, doesn't mean that we lose all of the fun moments we've had here."

He gently lifted up her chin and he continued, "We cherish those memories and continue to make more of them in the future. And I look forward to taking every step with you."

She looked at him with teary eyes and buried her face on the crook of his neck, hugging him.

"Thank you, Kyo-kun. Thank you for everything you've done for me. I don't deserve someone as caring as you," Tohru told him.

"Are you kidding? I'm the one who doesn't deserve you. You and Master are the best things that's ever happened to me. I couldn't have been more grateful to have you by my side."

"Kyo-kun, I love you... so much. And I'm sorry again for crying," she told him, bashfully.

"I love you too." He turned her face to wipe the drying tears off her cheeks.

"And you don't have to apologize for letting your emotions out. It doesn't bother or annoy me. It's what I'm here for anyway, to stick with you through the good and bad times right?"

Tohru smiled, "Right."

He pulled her face towards him and fervently kissed her. The kiss was sweet and passionate. It reminded her of their love.

Tohru pulled back and leaned her head on Kyo's shoulder. Together, they stared into the endless sky, watching as the stars fill their view.
