Did you practice that?

Summary:

Sol was helping Jiwan with her art piece when they take a break and spend a sweet moment together.

LOOK, the way Sol slid across the bench during ep. 10 while talking to Na-bi was so hot, I just had to make her use it on Jiwan.

Notes:

Hey guys!
So ep.10 was... sure something... Well, at least we got some adorable crumbs of Soljiwan. One of the scenes that caught my eye was Sol sliding across the bench while talking to Na-Bi. She is so effortlessly cool, so why not make Jiwan swoon with that move.

I am half asleep while posting this, so bare with me. I shall edit this tomorrow.

Enjoy and feel free to leave feedback!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

It was already 11 p.m, the art department of Hongseo University was empty except for two sculpture students that had requested to stay late and work on their pieces. Well, Seo Jiwan needed to work on her piece that was due in 2 days. Yoon Sol offered to stay with her and help her, like the supportive girlfriend she was. They had been working for quite a while and decided to take a break. They still had a long night ahead of them. Jiwan was sitting on one of the benches of the department, gummy bear pack in one hand as munched on one of them and the other running through her girlfriend’s hair. Sol had made herself at home on Jiwan’s lap, laying her head on the other girl’s hips and just enjoying their closeness.

“Yoon Sol” Jiwan said to get her girlfriend’s attention.

Sol opened one of her eyes and glanced up at the girl above her.

“Mmm” was the only thing she replied, enjoying her current situation too much.

“Have I already thanked you for pulling this all-nighter with me?” A smile graced Jiwan’s face while looking lovingly at the girl laying in her lap. She had never thought that being is love would feel like this, let alone being in love with her lifelong best friend. She had always thought that fireworks, suddenly seeing the world in full color, just being content with having the other person in one’s life, was something invented by the media and wasn’t possible. But here was Sol, her Sol. Strong, talented, chivalrous, supportive Sol, who made her believe in all of these things and in so much more.

“You were working so hard the last few weeks for the exhibition, I am sure you are exhausted. And yet you insisted on coming and helping me with my piece…”

“Seo Jiwan, you know I will always be here to support you, in whatever form you need” Sol told her sweetly, smiling up at her.

“I don’t deserve you…” Jiwan whispered and ran her finger through Sol’s locks. “You know, I finally understand why Professor kept telling us to get out there and date”

“Oh yeah?” Sol smirked, she liked where this was going. She kept quiet though because she selfishly wanted to hear more. Sometimes she still couldn’t believe that Jiwan liked her back. She had been pining for the girl for over 10 years. During that time, she made sure to keep her feelings bottled up and to be the best friend Jiwan could ask for. A total platonic friend, that respected the boundaries, supported Jiwan in everything, even her mindless dating. However, this proved to get harder in the months leading up to them getting together. A couple of weeks ago she could feel herself falling more more for the other girl as their touches had become longer than usual and their gazes more loaded and meaningful. There had been a shift in their relationship, it had just taken them a bit longer than they might have wanted, to admit their feelings. But now, after everything had changed, Sol thanks god for each day she gets to spend with Jiwan as her girlfriend. She looked lovingly up at the girl in question, patiently waiting for her response.

“Ahh, Sol-ah. You know what I mean. How Professor always says that we should go out and date, in order to get inspiration” Jiwan took a deep breath and could feel herself starting to blush as she added “I feel like my art has gotten better ever since we started dating…”

Upon hearing that, Sol sat up and with one push, she slid across the bench to close the gap between her and Jiwan and put her arm around her. The girl gasped as Sol gracefully invaded her personal space, and blushed even more because she felt herself heating up for not so innocent reasons.

“Sol-ah…” she whispered. “What are you doing?”

Sol smirked leaning in closer “Providing some more inspiration for your art, of course”

Jiwan could feel the other girl’s breath on her face, it faintly smelled like gummy bears. She wondered whether it tasted like that as well.

Even though flustered and wanting nothing more but to close the last few inches that were separating them she had to tease Sol just a little bit as well. She tried to sound as unfazed as she could, as she said:

“Did you practice that sliding move on your own, just so you could use it on a girl someday?”

Sol grinned “Well it seemed to have worked”

“And what makes you think that?” Came the response from Jiwan, still holding Sol’s gaze, refusing to give in and look at her lips even though she longed for it.

“You sound breathless” Sol said matter-of-factly, her voice dropping.

“I…I -“  before Jiwan could finish her weak protests, Sol closed the gap between them and captured her lips in a deep kiss. Jiwan let her hands fall to the other girl’s waist and pulled her closer by her shirt. Having Sol kiss her was always as thrilling as the first time. She could feel the butterflies form in her stomach and spread through her whole body. Sol deepened the kiss as their mouths moved against each other…

As they separated, both heavily breathing, Sol rested her forehead against Jiwan’s, eyes still closed.

“Again” Jiwan whispered “Professor was right. Being in love does wonders to the flow of artistic ideas”
