Work Text:
sunlight can be marvelous.
it can be golden and glistening and glamorous.
but the sun can also be the most annoying thing in the entire world.
right now it’s the latter.
you turn to the side with the simple goal of getting away from that stupid glowing ball in the sky (like seriously, it’s stupidly bright) but instead of a large warm body, you find nothing but satin sheets and a pounding headache.
memories of the night before are fuzzy but you could’ve sworn damian had fallen asleep next to you.
pushing yourself up on your arms you look around the bright room. the wardrobe is closed and the desk is neat and orderly, a boy is pulling - wait - a boy is pulling a grey shirt over his body and running a hand through his hair. you relax against the unbelievably comfortable mattress and smile. damian was there and smiling and sweet and GOD did your head hurt,
you want to cry, but instead, you open your arms and whine out, “dami, come here i wanna snuggle.”
damian smiles softly and walks back over to the bed, kissing your temple, “i’m gonna make us some breakfast.” reaching around the side table he hands you a glass of water and two small pills, “take this aspirin, it’ll help ease the hangover.”
leaning up you smile - heart pounding with fondness, “thanks babe,”
running a hand through your hair he works through the messy bedhead, “i’ll be right back, OK?’
“mhm,”
he kisses you.
and suddenly your headache doesn’t seem that bad.
