He sat in his room, all the lights turned off, the only light coming from the phone that was clutched in the hero’s shaky hand. Tears burned his eyes as he attempted to suppress them, watching the same video clip over and over again.
It was taken six years ago, on July fifteenth, Izuku’s birthday.
Just the thought of the green-haired hero brought more tears to the blonde.
“Midoriya! Midoriya!” Denki’s voice came from behind the camera, he was the one holding it. He filmed the birthday boy, Izuku, as he sat with his two out of the three best friends, Shoto and Uraraka, his boyfriend, Katsuki, sat on the other side of Uraraka.
“What?” Izuku looked past the camera, at Denki, with a large smile. “How old are you now?” Denki asked the other hero. “I’m twenty-four!” Izuku said, “And still kicking!” Uraraka laughed at his joke.
“Let’s do some cake!” The Katsuki in the present time talked along with the video.
The people in the video began to sing. “Happy birthday Izuku/Deku/Midoriya” Voices had blended, but with a few people saying the three different names that he had, it was a bit of a mess, but the song faded back to normal.
Katsuki watched with tears flowing freely, sobs raking his body. “I miss you” Katsuki muttered, wiping his tears. The next video started.
Izuku laughed, throwing his arms around Katsuki while Mitsuki filmed.
It was a video taken during a family vacation.
The video showed Inko and her husband, Toshinori, standing by the pier, Toshinori's arms wrapped around Inko; her middle sticking out; she was nearing her sixth month of pregnancy at the time.
A gold ring rested on her finger, a matching band on his.
"Along comes the lovebirds!" Mina's voice came from somewhere behind the camera, it catching the large smile that blossomed across both Katsuki and Izuku's faces.
At present, Katsuki skipped to the next video. Their wedding videos.
Izuku stood with his groomsmen and groomswomen, celebrating with toast; before the ceremony started. "And here's to Izuku, who's been the greatest of great for each and everyone one of us, even for those who haven't always been there for him" Uraraka smiled softly, raising her glass, the others following in her lead.
Iida, Shouto, Melissa Shield, Uraraka, Izuku, and Izuku's younger sister, Kali, all raised their glasses, though Kali's had apple juice and not wine, and took a sip.
The next video rolled on.
Katsuki, Kirishima, Mina, Kaminari, Sero, and Shinsou sat around the room, assumedly at the same time as the previous video was taking place.
"We love ya' man, no matter what!" Kirishima said, and they drank to it.
Katsuki backed out into the camera roll, selecting one section that he typically avoided- the news clips of his death- of Izuku's death.
"It's a tragic night as we've just learned that Number One hero, Deku, has just passed away last night. He was rushed to the hospital after a villain attack yesterday, and they had managed to get him stable for a little over three hours before Deku's body gave up on him, the stress of his wounds too much for his body to handle it any further. A public funeral will be held for our beloved hero in two weeks, thank you and have a good night"
