Summary
Dirt clung to his face, and the body heat trapped between them made it difficult to breathe. Still, he threw an arm over Wash and drew him closer. Maybe in another life, he’d be cracking innuendos and praying they were loud enough to mask the beating of his heart, but it was silent now. There was no heat to his cheeks nor any witty entendres, just dull exhaustion and overwhelming concern. As the light waned outside, the floodwater sounded just a bit closer than before.

Raph’s eyes burn as he uses stretches his mystic form farther than ever before to reach Leo and yank him to safety. The weight of his brother’s hand in his fills him with such relief that he almost collapses then and there, but it isn’t until Leo crashes into his arms that he lets out a shaky exhale.

Deku had listened to what he said—Katsuki pointedly ignores the cold tempest in his stomach at that thought—had finally respected Katsuki enough to listen to him after a decade of ignoring his demands to get lost. This was what he wanted. Katsuki had won.

Stuck in a ghost-like state, the boy enters a race against time in order to save himself from permanently dying. Much to his luck - or lack of it -, the only person who can see and talk to him in this state is no one other than Kacchan.
