"Oh my God, they're all so adorable!" Kirishima Eijirou basically squealed with delight. "Katsuki, I wanna adopt them all~"
"Our apartment doesn't even allow animals," Bakugou Katsuki replied.
"Then we'll persuade the landlord or somethin'! C'mon, I wanna get a puppy, please?" The couple were at an animal shelter, per Eijirou's request, because this was what he wanted to do with his free time.
But Katsuki had to admit, the dogs were pretty cute.
"Look at this little baby puppy right here, I wanna adopt him and we can raise him and he'll grow up and we'll get to watch him-"
"Eijirou, you're getting too attached. We can't adopt any of them because of our apartment's rules."
"Fuck the rules, I'm texting the landlord."
Katsuki sighed.
He loved his boyfriend more than anything else on this goddamned shithole of a floating space rock inhabited by over 8 billion idiots. He would do anything to make him happy. And it's not like Katsuki didn't want the puppy, the little guy had the most adorable big brown eyes and fluffy, beige fur, and his little tail would wag every time a human made eye contact with him, and when he was panting it kinda looked like he was smiling at Eijirou-
Fuck, Katsuki was now attached as well.
"Even if we adopted him, we both have full time jobs. We can't just leave him alone at the apartment."
Eijirou continued tapping his phone, trying to figure out what to say to the landlord. "We'll figure something out, we have friends and I'm sure they'd be able to dogsit for us on their days off."
Katsuki could see Mina and Denki fawning over the little guy- Koro, an apt name, because he rolled around a lot- and begging to dogsit him. He could actually visualize a lot of people becoming attached to the dog... himself included.
"The landlord says it's okay! Katsuki, we can get the dog!!" Eijirou was jumping up and down like a little kid. Maybe it might seem weird for a 22-year-old man to be cheering about getting a puppy, but Katsuki found it cute. He felt a small grin appear on his face.
"Alright, let's do it."
A few months later, Katsuki was pondering something over. It was a day off for him, but Eijirou had to go in to the hero agency. After being sidekicks for a couple of years, they had opened the DynaRiot Agency, which somehow became pretty popular. Katsuki was pretty selective about sidekicks, but even so, there happened to be quite a few.
"Should I do it, Koro?"
Koro had grown a bit since Katsuki and Eijirou had adopted him. He still loved to roll around on the floor whenever he could.
"Yip!"
Katsuki snorted. It was almost like the dog was giving confirmation to go ahead with his idea, something that had been on his mind for a while, and something that Eijirou was probably also thinking about.
Koro continued to roll around.
"Oh, fuck it, I'm gonna do it. C'mon, Koro, let's go for a walk."
"Yip?" Koro perked up at the idea of a walk.
Even if it wasn't a walk to a park, but to a jewelry store.
Katsuki was worried that Koro wouldn't be able to come into the store, but the person behind the counter fell in love with the little guy. Katsuki looked around for a piece that would remind him of his Eijirou.
"Do ya think he'd like this one?"
"Yip yip yip yip yip!!!"
"I'm home!" Eijirou called out, already changed back into civilian clothing. Koro came running towards him. "Hey, buddy! Have you seen Katsuki?"
"I'm right here."
Katsuki walked out of the doorway from the kitchen to the living room, wearing a tuxedo, a smile (not one of his demonic grins) on his face. In his hands was a small box, the top of it open. Eijirou saw a gold ring with a garnet set in it.
"Kirishima Eijirou, the love of my life, the person who's always been by my side, will you marry me?"
Eijirou nearly ran into Katsuki, hastily kissing him. He could feel Katsuki's body tense up.
"Yes! Of course!"
Koro barked happily and rolled around on the floor, sensing the excitement in the room.
Katsuki slipped the ring onto Eijirou's finger, then grabbed his face and kissed him again.
"Oh my God, I wasn't expecting this, Katsuki, I love you so much-"
"I love you too, but please, just fucking kiss me!"
"Yip!!"
Eijirou fulfilled Katsuki's request while little Koro jumped at their feet. Eventually, they had to stop to focus on him.
"I forgot to mention, but Koro helped me pick out the ring."
"Really?! Aw, that's so cute! And the ring is really beautiful, Katsu!!" Eijirou couldn't stop smiling. "Oh my God, I'm so excited!!"
The two of them continued kissing, thinking about the future, and giving Koro treats throughout the night. Their friends might not believe them, but it's true that their dog that they raised like their child is (partially) responsible for their marriage.
Even though all the dog hair on their clothes can be kinda annoying.
