Work Text:
“I’m home,” you yell as you lock your door and take your shoes off. You loosen your tie and unclasp your bra after a hard day at work. Your main meeting today was with the manager of a chemical supply factory for your lab. Although the deal had gone through well, the man had made many sexist and rude remarks about you which you had endured as you did not feel particularly confrontational that day. You sigh and make your way to your closet to get changed. After gently putting your expensive pantsuit away, you throw on one of your beanpole of a boyfriend’s huge hoodies that goes all the way down to your midthigh.
You were happy to be home, especially since today was your boyfriend’s first day off in a while and it was one of those rare days when he was home before you. When you realized you hadn’t received a response to your initial announcement, you pouted and went to the second bedroom in your apartment, the room that housed Sanha’s gaming equipment and your art supplies. It was too early for Sanha to be asleep, so naturally, you assume he must be gaming with the volume turned up. As you neared the room you heard him talking to his teammates on the headset and knocked on the door to not alarm him.
You opened the door and your pout deepened since he still didn’t turn toward you. “Sanhaaaa I said I’m home~” you whine as you pull his chair a little further back from his table and slightly obscure his view of the monitor by standing in front of it. Startled by his chair being moved, Sanha drops his mouse and turns up to look at you. The slight tension in his brows relaxes as he looks up and sees your pouty face. “Gotta go guys,” he hurriedly says into the microphone. As he pulls off his headset he apologizes, “Sorry baby, I didn’t notice you with my noise cancelling headphones on,” he says with a sheepish smile. He holds your hands and pulls you closer to himself so that your knees touch his. “How was work? Did your lunch meeting go well?” he inquires. You climb onto his lap putting your legs through the space under the armrests as your chests press together. You rest your head in the juncture between his head and neck. One of his hands comes up to stroke your hair while the other holds onto your back, cradling you like a child.
You were glad Sanha had been working out and gaining both muscle and fat recently because it made you feel more comfortable sitting in his laps, considering you have always been much chubbier than him. “Did something happen?” he prompts softly when you still choose to sulk in silence. “I hate all men,” you say against his skin, where the neck of shirt has slid a little further down his shoulder. “I don’t blame you,” Sanha says with a giggle. “Do you want to talk about it?” He asks. “Later,” you say as you nuzzle further into his shoulder. He hums your favorite song as continues to stroke your hair, his fingers gently massaging your scalp.
You have the sudden urge to bite him. You nip his skin a little, right at the base of his long neck. He flinches at the sudden movement and slightly ruffles your hair at the back of your head but doesn’t complain. You lick and nip at the spot a few more times until there’s a small purple bruise there. “Are you marking me?” He asks belatedly. You nod your head and he lets out a little giggle. “Do you want me to stop?” You murmur against him. “No, keep going,” he says as he laughs trying his best not to jostle you too much, as he goes back to humming after pressing a couple kisses to your temple.
A couple minutes later, there are three purple hickeys on Sanha’s neck and your stomach grumbles. “Shall I cook you something?” He asks, pulling away from you a little so he can see your face. “Want leftovers,” you breathe, not having the mental capacity for words. Suddenly, you were being picked up off the chair as Sanha rose to his feet, one of his arms going under your butt. Your legs immediately lock around his waist as he carried you to the kitchen, where he sat you down on the counter.
He got to work putting the leftovers in microwave safe bowls to heat up and then grabbed spoons to eat the fried rice. As he worked, the veins in his arms caught your attention as you stared at them unashamedly. “Baby,” he called, getting your attention. “Do you want to watch something while we eat?” he asked. At this you perked up, “There’s this new romance drama I wanted to start! Dongmin recommended it to me at the party last week, and he’s been raving about it for a while now,” you say.
While you were talking, the microwave had beeped and Sanha carried two bowls of food to the coffee table in front of the couch, and you followed him, picking up two wine glasses on the way. Sanha went back to the kitchen to grab the alcohol and peach juice. You set up the show on the TV while he got back and filled both of your glasses. You held up your glass and before clinking it with his in cheers, you let him know that the deal went through and that you now had the necessary chemicals for a few years through the contract. An immediate smile breaks out on Sanha’s face as he pulls you closer where you sit next to him on the couch and gives you a tight hug being careful as to not spill his own or your drink. He doesn’t ask about why you were upset even though it went well and you are glad he doesn’t. You don’t think you can explain it without getting infuriated about the sexism. Instead, you choose to enjoy the domestic moments with your lovely boyfriend and the slight buzz from the alcohol.
Soon enough you both had inhaled your food and lay down on the long end of your L-shaped sofa to cuddle. You were sprawled across the side of your boyfriend with your head on his chest, your arm and leg hooked over him as his arm curled around you from underneath you held you close to him. You were listening to the show more than watching it at this point as your eyes fixated on a spot on his chest as you traced patterns there.
Sanha turned the TV down a little bit before he spoke next. “Do you want to talk about what happened today?” he asked gently, as if he was approaching a frightened deer. You sighed. As much as it was frustrating, you also wanted to get it off your chest. “That guy was saying things about how he didn’t want to make a deal with a female and that my husband would be disappointed that I am here instead of making him dinner and just frustrating things. I couldn’t say anything back to him though, because he owns the only sales line in this area with the chemicals we need,” you explained. Sanha pet your hair as his eyebrows furrowed. “Who the hell does that old geyser think he is?! If I was there I would have beaten the shit out of him!” he says, looking like an angry bunny. You couldn’t hold it in and started laughing. “Baby, you were running around screaming bloody murder when that housefly got into our bedroom last week,” you breathed between spurts of laughter. At this Sanha started laughing too, “Well the housefly wasn’t being rude to my girlfriend,” he defends.
You lift your head off his chest to face him, and gently card your fingers through his bangs. “I appreciate the sentiment,” you say, a small smile lingering on your lips. “Still, I’m really sorry you had to go through that,” Sanha says with a sympathetic smile. You lean your forehead on his and whisper, “Now that I’m here, I just want to soak up your warmth and not think about any of it,” and press your lips gently against his. He kisses you back, chaste and filled with affection.
The automatic lights in your apartment slowly dimmed as the sun had been down for a while now, and you started to feel sleep pulling your eyelids shut like heavy doors on an ancient castle. As you slowly fell into sleep’s embrace, you were jostled awake. You squinted in the darkness of your apartment, and you could make out Sanha sitting up after having gotten out from underneath you, with an expression that read oops. “Sorry baby, you still have your makeup on. I was going to go get makeup wipes,” he whispers. He gets up to go to the bathroom, and you groggily get up behind him and wrap your arms around his waist in a back hug. You both softly pad to the bathroom, with you still attached to Sanha’s back. He gently maneuvers you to the front as he pulls out some makeup wipes and gently runs them over your face. The smell of mint and cucumber woke you up enough for you to wash your face and do your night routine as Sanha did his in the sink next to yours. Once you were done, you turned to look at Sanha and he held his hand out, reaching for yours. You placed your hand in his and let him drag you to bed.
You cuddled into Sanha’s arms in bed and hooked a leg over his. You sigh, feeling sated emotionally. Sanha presses a kiss to your forehead. “Sleep well, princess majesty,” he murmurs against your hair, the nickname reminiscent of the aegyo he had come up with many years ago when you first started dating. “Back then you were so adorably oblivious and mischievous, you know?” you whisper into the darkness. “But I like that that side of you is something only I can see now. It feels special,” you add. “Only for you, my love,” Sanha says giggling. “Cheesy,” you murmur. There’s a beat of silence where you think he’s fallen asleep. “But you like it,” he counters. You couldn’t argue against that logic, so instead you chose to press a kiss to wherever you could reach him and heard a small chuckle followed by an “I love you too” before you finally surrendered to sleep.
