Chapter Text
The five-minute break started and Kerry ran backstage. He was panting and sweat was covering his body but he felt like his heart was pumping energy drinks straight to his veins. The cheers of his fans became louder when he took off his earbuds and walked to the dressing room. It was small performance with only five songs but Kerry was giving it everything he had. The staff rushed to him, drying him with towels and giving him water while complimenting his performance.
‘New message from favorite gonk'
The notification popped up in his optics. He smiled not thinking much of it:
‘One minute.’
Kerry froze, eyes widening. He frantically looked around but couldn’t see V. He quickly dialed up the head of security. He had given V’s picture to all of his bodyguards and security team and asked them to look out for the man but the message proved that V was there. That message was a war cry and Kerry was left with his guards down.
It all started as a silly game of Tag. Him and V were in the Chinese market shopping when they decided to run after one another in the market, trying to catch each other. It was a fun evening filled with laughter. Now, it was very serious.
The rules were easy: They could only paly it once a day and the “it” had to send the other one a message to let them know the game had started and then give them a one-minute head start. Now that V had started the game, he had thirty minutes to Tag Kerry or he’d lose. They had been playing the game for a week now and so far, neither of them had lost. There was no prize or punishment, they were solely playing for pride.
“Yes, sir?”
“He’s here!”
“It’s impossible sir, we’ve been controlling the cameras nonstop.”
“It’s because his face doesn’t fucking show up on cameras! That’s why paparazzies hate him so much! I already told you gonks!”
“But none of the guys have reported anything, Sir.”
“You mean to tell me he just appeared out of thin air then?”
Kerry hung up with a groan, talking was only going to waste his time. He made his way out of the crowed of busy staff. He wanted to leave the dressing room when the door opened. He gasped but relaxed a bit when he saw it was only his new manager. He wanted to walk past her but she grabbed his arm and stopped him.
“We switched the fourth and fifth song, also maybe we can switch the—”
“Awesome, sweetie!” Kerry cut her off and left the room in a rush, ignoring her calling his name. He only had to stay out of V’s reach for the next five minutes until the break ended.
Two bodyguards walked to him. One of them was Andrew who was more than happy to kick V’s ass because of their first little encounter. Kerry took a deep breath, “Don’t need to fight him. Just hold him back until I get away.” He instructed.
“Not even a little?” Andrew asked, disappointed.
“We’re in a battlefield right now but V is still my gonk so no.” Kerry replied.
“Did you really think you could stop me?” V asked, his voice dramatically low.
Kerry spun around to see his face at the end of the hall. He gestured at the guards and they started walking towards him, rolling up their sleeves. V looked as carefree as ever and showed no care to the noticeably buffer men. Just before the guards could reach him, his eyes shined in blue. He shot the guards with finger guns and Kerry watched in horror as both of them fell on the ground like ragdolls.
“What did you do to them?” Kerry took a step back as V walked towards him like a hungry predator. Kerry had to admit it was a huge turn on.
“Killed them.”
“DA FUCK?”
“Oh my God, Ker! They’re just sleeping.”
Kerry continued taking steps back until his back hit the wall. V smirked, “There’s nowhere to run.”
"At least tell me how you got in."
"Playing for time, Eurodyne?"
“I won’t be going down without a fight.” Kerry said before opening the door at his side and dashing through a hall filled with staff who were looking for him with V close on his tail. He heard V stumble and fall. Worry almost made him halt and look back but he kept running, deciding V would probably survive a little fall. Kerry managed to get to the lifter that leaded to the stage. The platform started moving upwards but it wasn’t as fast as Kerry would like so he climbed up, barley getting away from V's grasp. when he got up, he blew a kiss at V’s scowl before the platform reached the stage and blocked it.

Kerry finished the song with a flourish and watched the crowed go crazy for him with a smile. There was a time when the crowd, the spotlights and even the music wouldn’t please his soul and it was before V practically broke into his heart and made him shine so he wouldn’t have to be afraid of the shadows.
He was looking around, answering the crowd cheers with quick gestures and words when his eye caught a glimpse of someone forcing his way up the stage and running to him.
“Son of a bi—"
V lunged at Kerry with full force, making him lose his balance and fall back. The fall wasn’t painful since V had placed his hand on the back of Kerry’s head to protect him from the impact but it still knocked breath out of his lunges.
“You’re it, baby!” V giggled devilishly.
“But it’s been thirty minutes already!” Kerry groaned, looking at the cocky look on his output’s face.
“Twenty-nine.” V replied, giving Kerry a quick kiss before being forced to stand up by the bodyguards.
Kerry groaned, “Just let him go.” He waved his hand dismissively, still lying down on the stage. He watched as V did his little victory march: he showed devil horns to the crowed and stuck his tongue out while walking off the stage. Kerry could recall a time when V was shy in crowded places or in front of interviewers.
“I have created a monster.” Kerry chuckled to himself, feeling proud.
