Work Text:

Bobby's best friends are dumbasses, and he actually cannot deal with them anymore. He really, really can't.

What he had thought would be a normal, completely chill hang out at the skate park turned into a hospital trip, a broken ankle, a broken wrist, and a panic attack.

He's not really sure why he seems to love putting himself through mass amounts of stress, but if his choice in friends is anything to go by, he's practically obsessed with it.

Bobby probably could've guessed that Luke and Reggie were going to do something so inexplicably stupid that it would've sent Alex's anxiety into overdrive, but he never anticipated that they were going to literally break a bone each, but it's probably not the first time he's overestimated their common sense and most likely won't be the last.

They had both gotten on the only skateboard the four of them owned, Reggie in the back with Luke sitting between his legs like they were on some kind of amusement park ride, and decided that riding down the biggest ramp the park had while Bobby had gone to the bathroom was a good idea.

He wasn't even able to hear their pained groans from the broken pile they had laid in after their crash and was only alerted to what had happened when he could hear Alex's quick breaths through the door before he even knocked and yelled for him to hurry and come out.

And now it was just Bobby and the two idiots with broken bones. He had sent Alex home after they all arrived in the studio since every time he caught a glance of Reggie's boot and Luke's cast he looked even more nervous than before, but now he's regretting it, because he's had to stop Reggie from getting up at least nine times now and every time he tells Luke he can't play his guitar right now he just gets a harsh glare and a pout in return. It's only been ten minutes since Alex left. God.

When he catches Luke trying to grab his guitar for the third time he just sighs and gently yanks it out of his hands, walking across the garage and setting it against the wall.

Luke pouts at him, but his eyes seem to be far too heavy with exhaustion to produce a death-worthy glare. "Why'd you do that?" he whines, kicking his feet at the couch from where he's sitting next to an equally pouty Reggie. "I'm not the one with the broken foot. I could always walk over there."

"Hey!" Reggie frowns, shoving Luke's shoulder lightly.

"What! It's true!"

"I cannot stand you idiots," Bobby cuts in, only to have two overdramatic frowns pointed his way.

"What? Why!" Reggie says, moving to stand up and groaning when Bobby pushes him back down.

"Why? Why would you go down that ramp?! You are the only people I know stupid enough to do that. Now I have to watch over your asses for at least a month."

"Wow," Luke deadpans, "Really feeling the love and comfort right now. Thanks Bobin."

Before he can respond to that, Reggie adds in, "And besides, you don't have to watch us. We'd be fine."

Even though he knows Reggie is just joking, his stomach twists with the idea that he might've made them think watching over them would be anything but something he actively wants to do always, not that he'd ever say any of that out loud for either of them to hear.

Instead of dramatically professing his undying love like the annoying part of his brain nags at him to do, he rolls his eyes at the two of them, crossing his arms over his chest and says with far too much conviction and seriousness, "You guys won't take care of yourselves, so I will."

For some reason, the words make his stomach twist in a weird way. Not necessarily unpleasant but not completely welcome, either. And weirdly, both Reggie and Luke's faces flush red after he finishes his sentence, though he's not sure why. Probably because it's suddenly gotten so hot in the studio. Yeah. That's why.

"Yeah, yeah," Luke grumbles, preparing to say something else, but before he can, the garage door opens up and they all turn to see Alex poking his head inside, a small and nervous smile on his face.

"I was- can I stay here tonight?"

Bobby rolls his eyes at him, stomach stopping in it's flipping, and gestures towards the couch. "Duh."

His smile turns into a genuine grin as he steps into the garage, closing the door behind him before flopping down onto the couch inbetween Luke and Reggie, wrapping careful arms around their shoulders. "Hopefully these two idiots didn't give you too much trouble while I was gone."

There's multiple squawks of protest and shoves in response to that, and the moment from before fades completely away when Bobby rolls his eyes and sits back to watch his three idiots.
