“No,” she mutters. “But I’ve got a heat coming up.”
Ah. Right. “You’ve been dealing with these for years. Shouldn’t they trust you to know what’s best?”
“You’d think so,” she says. “But no, apparently I’m entitled to some time off for species-specific health needs or whatever. Doesn’t kriffing matter that there’s people dying every day, oh no, I need a vacation.”
