Work Text:
Something greater
Something more
Bonds forged in the heat of war
Sweeter than the darkest sin
The Angel let a human in
Lost from just a single touch
Staring in his eyes too much
Angel, why can you not see?
Your twisted fate, reality
Your righteous man has fallen far
His soul irrevocably scarred
And you lay dying, stripped of grace
Yet unwilling to give up chase
Just as you raised him from perdition
And made him your entire mission
You still think you can have it all
And save him from his darkest fall
But Angel, move with caution here
For this time there is more to fear
The righteous man has given in
To a mark of most egregious sin
Swallowed by his own despair
Pretending he no longer cares
Still I know you will not heed
My warning, for a simple need
Saving him means more to you
Than death could ever hope to do
So Angel, go ahead and scream
Your pain is no mere childish dream
But I know what you fight it for
His hand, his soul, his face, and more
Go forth Angel, and show no sign
Of letting him cross every line
Death hovers near but worry not
Lest your flesh begin to rot
Bring your righteous man to grace
Let everything take rightful place
