Chapter 1: Stay the Night, Eraser.
Chapter Text
It was as cold, January winter in Japan, which meant that snow was bound to come. News broadcasting stations warned citizens to stay indoors for this snowstorm that made its way through Musutafu, however some heroes did not get that luxury and were stuck with trying to get home during a peak of the snowstorm.
“Shit,” Aizawa Shouta cursed under his breath as he stood outside his agency’s building and watched the snow fall heavily. He groaned then sighed, regretting that he did not stay longer to complete paperwork after a 24-hour shift as a pro hero. “I guess I will be staying in the office tonight.” As much as he did not want to, he knew it would be hell to get home. He did not live that far away from the agency, but with the lack of public transportation and a snowstorm coming down Musutafu, he knew it would be longer than usual to get home. He let out another sigh and turned on his heel, about to head back into the building when he heard his name called out.
“ERASER!” called out the feminine voice.
Aizawa winced at the sound of her voice and groaned into his scarf.
“ERASER! YOU SEE HOW MUCH SNOW THERE IS! IT’S AMAZING!” the voice of the woman began to sound closer now. “How about we make some snow angels! OOH! WAIT! There’s enough snow for a snow man!”
Aizawa turned his head to face the woman who he heard call him. “Joke, it’s a blizzard. You think a snowman is a good idea during a dangerous blizzard?” he said to her coldly.
The woman laughed loudly, “I was just joking of course! But about the timing! Once this snow stops, you and I should! Like a date! That would be fun, wouldn’t it!?”
“No. I rather be taken by this blizzard” he told her coldly.
“You’re no fun Eraser,” she pouted.
Emi Fukukado, also known as Ms. Joke, the smile hero. She was still a rookie hero, being only 21, but she was a well-respected one at that. She too, just got out of her own agency after her day of being a hero, being that it was right next to Aizawa’s agency, and seeing him made her eyes brighten at the sight of the long dark-haired hero with a scowl on his face.
“I don’t like fun,” he told her, “Shouldn’t you be inside?”
“I can ask you the same question, Eraser,” she replied back, “I’m going home. What does it look like?”
“It’s dangerous.”
“I’m a big girl,” she laughed as she put her hands on her hips, “besides, I only live like 5 blocks away! Shouldn’t be too terrible to get home.”
“What? Impossible,” he said raising an eyebrow, “the rent is extremely expensive in this area.”
“Well,” she smiled as she put her left hand on his shoulder now, “I happen to get a discount on rent. I have connections.”
He looked at her hand that was on his shoulder, then looked back at her, “must be nice. You should get going then. The snow is getting harsher by the minute and wind is starting to pick up.” He moved his shoulder, causing Emi’s hand to fall, and headed towards the double doors of his agency. “See ya.”
“Wait!” she called out. “Shouldn’t you be heading home, too? They only want the heroes with quirks that can withstand the snow be out here. Your eyes definitely do not stand a chance with this weather.”
Aizawa sighed and turned back to face her, “I live far from here. I won’t make it home in this weather. I’m staying here for the night.”
“What!” she shouted as she jogged slightly towards Aizawa, trying not to slip at the same time. “Where are you going to sleep?!”
“I don’t need a bed to sleep. I have sleeping bag in my locker.”
“That’s super uncomfortable though!” Joke told him. “And it’s not even warm in these agencies! You should at least stay in the closest hotel!”
“No. I don’t want to,” he said coldly again, “now if you excuse me, I need to get back inside. It’s too cold. You should head home as well.”
Emi looked up at him, for that he towered over her. Just as she looked up at him, an idea came to mind and her bright smile appeared on her face. “I know! You can stay at my place for the night!”
“I rather sleep outside then stay the night at your apartment,” he responded quickly, “go home, Joke, it’s late.”
“Oh, come on!” she whined, “I am not going to bite! Besides! You’ve been working a 24-hour shift! You need a bed to sleep in, not a sleeping bag!”
She was right about him working a 24-hour shift. It was common for her to see him before she clocked out her agency and saw him right before she clocked in the mornings some days. And from the looks of the bags under his eyes, you could tell the man was sleep deprived.
“It doesn’t matter. Mind your business and go home.”
“Shouta, come on,” she said, now in a more serious tone. “You need a good night’s rest. And I live close by.”
She was worried about him of course. She had a crush on him since the first day she arrived at her agency and worked her first patrol with him, since their agencies would work together a lot of the time. When they first met, she introduced herself, then asked him out on a date immediately, in which he rejected her like always. She saw that he never smiled around anyone really, so she made it her goal to make him smile, especially as the smile hero. It’s not that she wanted to change his what she called, his emo ways. She loved that about him, but she wanted to see him smile at least once because of her.
“I won’t try nothing! I promise! As a friend, I shouldn’t let you sleep in there,” she told him, pointing at his agencies building.
“Who said we are friends? And don’t call me by my first name,” he growled.
Emi’s nose scrunched and her brows furrowed “well that’s rude! After all we been through! Come on, Eraser! I’m not joking here! I know I usually joke around with you, but I’m serious. Stay the night.”
“No,” he said slightly louder than his last no now that he was irritated. “Go home, Joke.”
“Not until you agree!”
Aizawa groaned loudly, “I said no! Go home, Emi!” He now used her first name, slighting shocking her. “Don’t worry about me! Worry about yourself!”
“How are you supposed to be a hero if you can’t take care of yourself!” She shouted back. “Hero’s need proper sleep and not survive on black coffee to keep them awake!”
“Again, Joke! What I do does not concern you!”
“I have to because what if a villain shows up and you can’t fight to your fullest strength because of how poorly you take care of yourself!?”
“I can handle a villain regardless,” he said sternly, stepping closer to her. “Go home, Joke.”
Emi’s face turned slightly red from anger because she cared about his health, but it was hard to tell because her face was already turning red from the cold winter air. “Not until you stay with me! I don’t live in a small studio! I have one bedroom and I have a pullout couch! Way better than your sleeping bag!”
“What part don’t you understand!?” He shouted at her.
“What part don’t you understand!? I’m worried about you, Shouta!” She shouted back. Once she said that, her cheeks turned pink now, realizing that she just told him that. But she knew she had to keep going. “Stop being such a grumpy old man and take up my offer!”
Aizawa was taken back by what she said as well, in which his voice went back to its normal tone. “I am not grumpy, and I said don’t worry about me,” he told her, “Look, we been out here long enough. Just go home. Good night, Joke.” As he was about to turn back to walk toward the agency, he felt two hands grab his arm. He turned to face the owner of them, who looked up at him with glossy forest green eyes.
“Please, Shouta. I promise not to bother you. I just want you to sleep properly for once damn it,” she said softly as she stared into his dark eyes that she adored.
The quirk erasing hero looked away from her and sighed loudly, feeling like her would regret his response. He closed his eyes, took a deep breathe in, then turned back to face her as he opened them back up. “If you make one joke about dating you or marrying you, I’m leaving. Scratch that. Any joking and I’m gone.”
Emi’s eyes grew big and bright at the response from her hero crush. She grinned widely and began to jump up and down. “I promise I won’t! No jok-” she said happily before she slipped on the icy snow. However, Aizawa was quick to grab her before she fell. He caught her by the waist, which made Emi blush profusely and heat up.
“Damn it, Joke,” he groaned, “you should know not to jump around in this weather. What are you, five?”
Emi, now embarrassed and still blushing profusely, pushed Aizawa away once he helped her back up. She cleared her throat and scratched the back of her head with one hand, laughing from embarrassment. “Ha! Sorry about that! I just didn’t think you would finally say yes!” she told him then put her hand back down to her side. “Like I said! I promise! No jokes! I won’t even bother!”
Eraser didn’t believe her, but the faster he got to a bed, the better. “Whatever,” he said with his usual monotoned voice. “Now let’s get going. We are freezing out here.”
“Right! Follow me!” she told him back. She turned and began to lead the way through the snow that was building up quickly on the sidewalk.
The snow on the ground already was almost five inches as they walked and was only going to grow more, so it was not that easy to walk through, but it was nothing that a hero couldn’t handle. The wind blew even harsher as they made their way through intersections that was on the path to Emi’s apartment, but they were able to manage and make their way to it.
Shouta looked up at the building and realized it was a pretty decent looking building compared to his own. He wondered how much of a discount she got on this place, since he knew rookies did not make enough for a nice place like this one. ‘Must have known the landlord,’ he thought to himself as he followed her into her building, ‘probably saved their life or something.’
“This way, Eraser! I live on the 6th floor!” she happily said as she waved at him to follow her toward the elevator. She pressed the button and began to whistle while they waited for the elevator to come down to get them, however, tired Shouta was annoyed by it.
“Can you please not?” he groaned.
Emi immediately stopped and apologized, “my bad, Eraser. Just thought it was too quiet.” She then laughed.
“Quiet is better.”
Emi nodded and saluted towards him, “Roger that, captain.” Her big smile shined at him and Aizawa just looked unamused by it, making her laugh nervously. She quickly turned back to face the elevator, in which the bell finally dinged, and the doors opened. She quickly made her way into the elevator and waited till Aizawa was in before she pressed the button that had a six on it, then pressed the close button after. Emi watched the elevator doors close and stood next to her crush in silence as the elevator began to move.
‘This went much farther than I thought it would!’ she screamed at herself internally. ‘Holy shit Eraser is going to be sleeping at MY place!’ She glanced up at him as the elevator went up and admire his beauty. His long black hair that passed his shoulders slightly and his scruffy beard made her weak at the knees. ‘God damn it, he’s so hot’
The elevator bell went off, signaling that they made it to her floor, which also happened to cause Aizawa to look at her.
“After you,” he told her as he faced her.
She jumped at the sound of the voice, turned away quickly, and began to jet out the elevator. “Follow me!” She called out as she zoomed passed him, trying to hide her blush. He raised a brow, but didn’t think anything of it, so he just followed her out the elevator.
Her apartment was just two doors down from the elevator, so the walk wasn’t long. They made their way there and she stopped in front of her apartment door that had a 6C sign on it. She had a punch-in electronic door handle, so she just put her code in, causing the apartment door to open. She then looked back at Eraser and smiled as she opened the door completely. “Welcome to my palace,” she told him.
“Uh, thanks?” he said, unsure.
They both walked into Emi’s apartment and took their shoes off by the door. The apartment was dark, so she felt the side of her wall to find the light switch for the hallway. Once the hallway was lit up, she put on her bight orange slippers that were right by the door and turned to Aizawa. “You can use those slippers,” she told him, pointing at the bright green slippers that were next to hers while simultaneously taking her jacket off and hanging it on one of the hooks near her front door. “They should fit,” she told him then let one of her hands out at him, “here, give me your coat.”
Shouta nodded as he took his coat off; handing it to her after and slipped his feet into them as she quickly placed his coat on the other empty hanger. They did fit perfectly, making him become curious to who’s slippers were they. ‘Are these her boyfriends’ or something?’ he thought to himself. ‘It can’t be. She wouldn’t tell me to stay if she had one.’ He shook his head, trying to get the thought of Emi having a boyfriend out of his head because he thought that it was none of his business. He followed behind her once she was done putting the coats up and began to click on the light switches to her apartment as she passed through the hallway and the rest of the apartment. Once he walked into the main area of the apartment. It was different from what he was expecting. He thought she would have pictures of clowns all over the walls with a bunch of prank toys on the ground with the walls painted in bright colors, along with bright furniture, but it was actually normal. The walls were white, and the furniture wasn’t too bright at all. It was semi minimalistic.
“Make yourself at home!” She told him, smiling with pride.
“Uh, thanks,” he told her while he looked around the room. “Nice place.”
Emi blushed but kept her the huge smile on her face. “Thanks! I tried to make it look as decent as possible with my budget!” she laughed. “Sit, Eraser!” she said as she grabbed his arm and led him towards her couch, “Are you hungry? I have a whole cabinet full of different flavored Ramen!”
Aizawa shook his head. “I’m fine, thank you.”
“Don’t lie to me, Eraser! I know you must be hungry! You literally survive only on those squeeze things that’s for babies! You need an actual meal!”
“They’re not for babies,” he groaned as he removed his weaponed scarf and placing it besides him on the couch, “and as if Ramen is any better.”
“It tastes better, that’s for sure!” she said. “I’m going to go ahead and make some ramen for us! I am starving! Do you like spicy ramen or regular ramen?”
Aizawa groaned again, knowing that she would not give up and make him some ramen even if he denied it. “Either is fine,” he signed.
“Great! Spicy it is!” she said, turning away from him and headed to her kitchen. She had an open concept, so he was able to see her from the couch. She opened her cabinet with the ramen inside, which Aizawa saw she had stacks of ramen cups and packets inside it from the couch.
“That is an unhealthy amount of ramen,” he said as he watched her search for the spicy ramen packets.
She grabbed two packets of spicy ramen, then turned back to Aizawa, smiling as she closed the cabinet door behind her. “It’s easy to make when I had a long day,” she told. “I still eat regular, healthier meals here and there but sometimes I’m too exhausted to make anything that takes longer than like ten minutes.”
Aizawa looked away and nodded as she finished speaking, since he understood what the job is like, especially if there had to be multiple bad guys stopped within their shift. It takes a toll on their bodies and mind, so he could relate. “I see.”
She laughed lightly and turned away from him again, now finding a pot big enough for two packets of ramen to fit in it. Once she did, she began to hum softly as she added water to the pot and placed it on the stove so that she can boil it. “I have instant rice as well! Just need to microwave it!” she called out to him while she then went on another search for the instant rice packets.
“That’s not necessary,” he called back out, now facing towards her direction again. “That’s a little too much food.”
She laughed and turned to face him again with her usual glycinin grin on her face. They didn’t call her the smile hero for nothing. “Ramen isn’t even enough! I could eat two packs of it and still be hungry,” she laughed. “it’s also not as bad as the ramen so see it as a balanced meal.”
“But it’s microwavable,” he deadpanned, “nothing healthy about that.”
“Stop questioning my eating habits, Eraser,” she now deadpanned back at him.
“Just saying,” he told her and turned away from her again.
“Once your belly is full, I don’t think you going to care at the end,” she laughed, smiling again at him again. The pot full of water started to make noise, signaling to her that the water was now boiling. She turned to face her stove now and began to open the two packs of ramen and emptied it into the pot along with the seasoning. She then found the instant rice she took out again, and walked over to her microwave so that she can put it in. “Do you mind turning on the TV! I want to see what the news is saying about this storm! The remote should be on top of the coffee table!” she called out to him was still facing away from him.
“Uh, sure.” Aizawa preferred if there was no noise from the TV, but he agreed that they should be informed about what will likely happen with this blizzard. He looked down at the dark wooden coffee table to see the remote on the edge of it. He reached for it, pressed down on the power button, and changed the channel to the new station.
“Musutafu should be expecting eight inches more of snow by the morning. Schools will be closed until further notice and citizens should remain indoors for the time being. If you have an emergency, please call emergency services,” both pro heroes heard coming from the news reporter from the TV.
Eraser groaned, wondering how things will be by the morning when he goes into work, since he honestly hated the snow. It was a nightmare to him. “Damn it,” he whispered to himself.
“Ha! The kids are going to have so much fun sledding and making snowmen!” Emi said in jealously. “Must be nice to be a little kid.”
“No, it isn’t,” he responded to her comment.
Emi laughed as his comment while she turned off the flame from the stove and removed the boiling hot pot of ramen off it so that she can pour the ramen into two separate bowls. “Oh, come on, Eraser. You’re telling me you never got excited over a snow day?”
“No.”
She laughed again as she put the pot into her sink and walked over to the microwave to get the streamed rice out. “Oh please! What kid didn’t like a snow day! I wish I had one back then! Rarely had any living in the south, so I was pretty jealous of everyone up north who got a day off school. It was only when I went to Ketsubutsu Academy that I really got to experience a snow day!” she told him, reminiscing about the past. She took the rice out of its packaging and emptied it into two smaller bowls, “I remember we had that small blizzard once when it was my first year. I got so excited to see so much slow snow that my class thought I was crazy! They didn’t know we rarely got snow in Kumamoto. If we did, it melted right away. Never stuck to the ground really.”
Aizawa saw that as she prepared the food into bowls and it would be a lot to carry, so he got up and walked over towards the kitchen. He did not want to seem rude, even though it was just Ms. Joke. “There’s nothing fascinating about snow. It’s more irritating than anything,” he told her. He went to the sink to wash his hands quickly, then leaned over towards the two ramen bowls set on a serving tray. “Let me help you with that.”
Emi looked up at him and smiled at his gesture, of course. “Who knew you were such a gentleman, Eraser,” she laughed.
“Shut up,” he quickly told her as he grabbed the tray from her.
“I’m just teasing,” she laughed again. “Put them on the coffee table so we can watch the news. I have floor pillows underneath it.
“Whatever.” Aizawa turned away from her and headed towards the living area. He placed the tray down onto the coffee table and removed both bowls from it. He then looked underneath the coffee table to see four, green floor pillows that matched her sea-foam green hair color and pulled two out for them to sit on. Behind him, Emi came with two bowls of rice in her hand, with chopsticks on the side of each palm, barely hanging on, and placed both the bowls of rice and chopsticks right beside each ramen bowl.
“There,” she said with accomplishment. She put both hands on her hips and continued to grin. “Bon appetite, Eraser!” She laughed for a few seconds then immediately stopped, “Oh crap! I forgot drinks!” She ran back to the kitchen, causing Aizawa to sigh as he watched her. “I got iced tea, water and soda! What would you like, Eraser?” she shouted.
“Doesn’t matter,” he told her.
“Iced tea it is!” she shouted back. She quickly took the bottle of iced tea out of her fridge and took two glasses out so that she can pour them a refreshing drink. Once she finished pouring. She put the bottle of iced tea back into her fridge, grabbed the two glasses, and walked back over to Aizawa, who was sitting in front of his bowls of food already. Emi placed one glass in front of him first, then the other next to her own bowl. “There you go, future hus-”
Aizawa turned to glare at her, which caused Emi to jump. “You want to finish that?”
Emi blushed in embarrassment and laughed it off. “Ha! Sorry! It’s a habit! I forgot you said none of that!” She quickly said before taking a seat next to Aizawa.
“It’s a bad habit,” he groaned as he reached for the chopsticks beside his bowl. “Thank you, Emi.”
She blushed again harder this time, because he rarely said her actual first name but when he did, it was like music to her ears. “You’re welcome, Shouta,” she said, wanting to squeal like a schoolgirl instead. She reached to grab her own chopsticks and clapped her hands together, “Itadakimasu!”
“Itadakimasu,” Aizawa followed, then began to dig in.
Emi did as well and praised the food as she stuffed her face. “MMH! I love ramen so much!” she tried saying with her mouth stuffed already.
Aizawa wanted to let out a slight laugh because of how her cheeks puffed up as she ate, but knew it would fuel her, so he didn’t. The TV was still playing while they ate their food, which Emi stared at it while she continued to stuff her face. She didn’t talk much, which Aizawa believed she would still talk over the TV with a full mouth, but she didn’t. As much as he would become annoyed when she rambled on, it was weird when she wasn’t talking much, so he decided to start a conversation; hopefully not regretting it.
“How did you manage to get a place close by the agency?” he asked after swallowing down rice. “It’s extremely expensive in this area for a rookie.”
Emi, surprised from the question, quickly gulped down her food and wiped her mouth with her hand. “Oh! Funny story actually!” she laughed.
“Is it really?” he asked again, this time with a brow raised.
“Yes, actually!” she told him. “The landlord grew up in my in my hometown! He knew my aunt and dad, since they went to school together in the old days, and he was basically in love with my aunt!” she laughed. “I saved him my first year into being an actual pro hero and when I asked him if he was okay, my accent came out a bit, and he recognized it. He asked me if I was from Kumamoto and it got me so excited to know someone else might be from there, which of course I told him hell yeah, I am! He asked me my family name and he recognized it as well and put two and two together because of my quirk. My dad and I have the same quirk. He said he knew my aunt and my dad, and I couldn’t believe it. Small world, eh?”
“Uh, I guess so,” he responded.
She laughed softly, “anyways, he asked me how my aunt was doing, since he said that she was his first love, and at the time, my aunt just went through her second divorce, so I told her she was newly single.” She took a sip of her iced tea then continued, “he was so happy to hear that, so he asked me if I just put in a good word about him to my aunt, he would offer me a nice apartment as gratitude, and I would only have to pay half the rent price!”
“So, you used the poor man,” Aizawa deadpanned.
“Um! No!” she shouted slightly, causing Aizawa to groan, “I didn’t want to at first, but he was persistent AND I lived in a really crappy apartment that was like almost an hour away from the agency by train! What poor 19-year-old girl should travel home so late at night after a shift!? It’s dangerous!”
Aizawa raised an eyebrow again, “But you’re a pro hero…”
“So!” she told him then sucked her teeth. “As I was saying before you rudely interrupted my story, he was persistent, so I just made a little call that’s all. My aunt was actually happy to hear from him, since it had been like 30 years since she last seen him. She decided to come visit as soon as she could, since she found out he was also divorced and thought they could rekindle something,” she said to him as she watched him slurped up some ramen noodles. “Long story short, I basically accidently played cupid and now my aunt and my landlord are engaged! In exchanged for playing cupid, I got this nice apartment for half the rent!”
“Hm,” he hummed, “so you just got lucky. Must be nice.”
“Super lucky!” she said excitedly. “Perks of being a pro hero and being from Kumamoto! I can probably get you a deal on an apartment around the area! This dude owns a bunch of buildings and is basically filthy rich! I’m sure he can give you some sort of discount so you can be close by!”
“I would rather stay in my place. It’s far away from this place,” he retorted.
Internally, she groaned but externally, she laughed, “oh come on! We can be neighbors! That would be fun.”
“No, it wouldn’t,” he quickly responded.
She grumbled and reached her chopsticks towards the bowl of rice, grabbed some rice with it, and stuffed her face. “You’re so mean, Shouta,” she told him with her mouth stuffed again.
“Whatever,” responded, and finished up his last bite. After, he put his hands together and slightly bowed, “Gochisousama.”
Emi looked over at both his bowls to see that they were both empty, “and you said that was too much food,” she said under her breath, but Aizawa still heard her. He paid no mind to her and got up from the floor, grabbing his bowls and heading towards the kitchen. Emi saw his movements, and quickly took her own last bites of food before rushing behind him. Aizawa raised his sleeves and turned the faucet on, causing Emi to slightly panic, since she didn’t want to seem like a bad host and make her guest wash the dishes. She rushed to his side and grabbed one of his wrists to stop him. “You don’t have to wash dishes, Shouta! I got it! How about you shower first! I got the dishes!”
“It’s fine,” his monotoned voice told her.
“No, no, no. You’re the guest, I got it!”
Aizawa ignored her and grabbed both her bowls stacked on top of each other and her glass. “Take it as a thank you,’ he told her.
Emi knew what he was doing was the bare minimum, but she couldn’t help but squeal internally and blush. ‘He’s like the perfect husband! So domestic!’ she thought to herself.
“You’re making me seem like a bad host,” she pouted, still blushing.
“You’re not,” he told her as he rinsed the first bowl he cleaned. “Besides, I don’t have spare clothes to shower. You should just go. I’ll be fine.” He didn’t look at her while he spoke and focused on the dishes, trying to get them as clean as possible.
“I have spare clothes!” she told him, practically screaming in his ear, causing him to groan.
“I obviously won’t fit in your clothes.”
Emi laughed louder than she had been and hit his arm, “was that a joke, Eraser! I knew you were also funny!”
Aizawa sucked his teeth, “it wasn’t a joke.”
“Sure, Eraser. Whatever you say,” she told him as her laugh died down. “I have clothes you can borrow for the clothes for men. Don’t worry, I’ll go grab them.”
Emi turned and headed towards her room, which caused Aizawa to become confused. ‘Why does she have men’s clothes? Maybe she actually has a boyfriend… or had…’ he thought to himself. He shook his head to get the thought out of his head and continued to wash the dishes. He washed the last dish and placed it on the drying rack, shaking the remaining water from his hands off. He reached over to the paper towel rack, ripping one tissue out to dry his hand completely, then heard footsteps coming from his left. He turned to face the pro hero, who held a pair of dark gray sweats and a black shirt folded on top of it.
“Just change into these when you’re done showering! And you can run a bath if you want!” she smiled up at him.
Aizawa hesitated to take the clothes, since he did not know who the owner was of the clothes and thought it wouldn’t be best to take them if they’re from the boyfriend he thinks she has.
“What’s wrong?” she asked him, tilting her head to the side in confusion.
“Do….do you just have men clothes lying around?” he questioned her.
Emi’s face turned serious, causing Aizawa to wonder if he said something wrong or not. But then again, was he wrong? They both looked at each other, with a serious face but Emi could not hold it back anymore. Her cheeks puffed up and a bit of air came out her mouth before she started to laugh, cause Aizawa to stare at her, still in confusion but added with annoyance.
“Shouta! Whose clothes do you think these are!?” she laughed loudly.
Aizawa’s eye twitched, since he thought he was being reasonable, but not reasonable to her. “I don’t know. You’re boyfriend or something.”
“BOYFRIEND! HA!” she shouted and continued to laugh, “NO SILLY! THESE ARE MY BROTHER’S CLOTHES!”
“Br-brother,” Aizawa stuttered his words. “You have a brother?”
Emi’s laugh died down and she took out one hand from underneath the folded clothes to wipe her laughing tears away. “Yes, Shouta. I have a brother! I mentioned him to you before Christmas since he came to visit me from Tokyo!”
Aizawa looked away from her, slightly embarrassed that he did not remember that. There were times he would tune her out while they were on patrol, but he usually still paid attention to the conversation. “I guess I forgot…”
Emi softly laughed this time. She reached out for his hand with the hand she used to wipe her tears and handed him the clothes, “my brother leaves clothes here for when he visits. Being in med school makes him forget stuff, so I just let him leave spare clothes here. Makes it easier for him.” She looked up at Aizawa, who now looked down at the spare clothes and smirked. “Don’t tell me you were jealous! It seems like you were jealous to see another mans clothes in my home.”
Aizawa sucked him teeth and looked slightly up from his previous position, now staring at her forest green eyes with furrowed brows. “Shut up,” he said, slightly under his breath but loud enough for her to hear. “Where is your bathroom?”
“That way!” she grinned and pointed behind from where she was standing.
He rolled his eyes, walked past her, and quickly made his way into her bathroom. Once he made his way in, he slammed the door, embarrassed of what just happened. “Damn it. Get it together, Shouta,” he told himself. He shook his head and tried to forget it. He needed a bath ASAP.
As he was about to strip down, he realized he needed a hair tie and cursed under his breath. He groaned in annoyance and turned back to open the door. “Emi,” he called out.
“Coming!” she shouted out from her room. She quickly made her way to Aizawa who had just had his head peeking out the door. “What’s up?”
When Aizawa saw her, she did not have her usual orange bandana on, which he never saw her without it. ‘She had bangs underneath it the whole time,’ Aizawa thought. ‘She looks….’
“Do you happen to have a hair tie?” he asked quickly, realizing he was thinking to himself too long.
“Of course, I do! Give me a sec!” she excitedly said. She jogged to her room and came back out in less than a minute with a black hair tie, “there you go!”
Aizawa reached out to grab the hair tie, “thanks,” he said as he quickly retracted his hand back and closed the door. He sighed in relief and went back to what he was doing before the inconvenience. He stripped down, folded his hero costume, and put it to the side. He tied his hair up and made his way to the tub, turning the water to the hottest setting, since he needed some relief. He stepped in and did not flinch when the hot water hit is skin, because he really needed a hot shower.
Emi, on the other hand, was back in her room, sitting on the beanbag chair she had in the corner of her room in silence. However, her face was red. “Aizawa is really in my shower right now. Naked at that!” she told herself. “Holy shit, I didn’t have this in my bingo card.” She figured nothing would happen between her and Eraserhead tonight, but she still really enjoyed his company. This was the best night of her life so far. Her crush in her home? Who would have thought! It’s a dream come true regardless of what happened. Emi’s face fell into her hands, and she shook her head after. “Damn it, Emi. Get a grip!” she then said, lifting her head up and exhaling. She got up from her beanbag and began to pick out her pajamas and underwear; preparing to be the next to shower when it hit her.
She forgot to give him a clean towel.
“Shit!” she said slightly loud. She ran out her room and went into a small closet outside her bedroom. She pulled out the nearest towel and quickly closed the closet door. She then jogged over to the bathroom door, lifting her hand up to knock, but then froze. “He’s going to think I’m a pervert! But if I have him use the one I have there, it’s still going to look bad!” she whined. But she could not leave him like that. It would make things worse. So, she built up the courage and knocked on the door. “Eraser! I forgot to give you a towel! I left it on the doorknob! I will be in my room if you need me! Just call out if you need anything else!” she told him.
There was a slight pause, but she ended up getting a response from Aizawa, “okay, thanks.”
Emi’s face was flustered. She quickly ran back to her room, closing her door most of the way and jumped back onto the beanbag chair. “He definitely thinks I’m a pervert!” she whined into the chair, “I’m ruined! I might as well just stand outside and let the storm take me!” She kicked her legs in distress and continued to whine into her beanbag chair. She whined for a few minutes before lifted her head up due to the sound of the bathroom door opening and closing quickly after. “Crap, he’s done! He’s going to crucify me!” she whined some more. She said her prayers and hoped he wouldn’t be mad. She knew she had to face him anyways, so she had to grow a pair.
The bathroom door made a sound again, this time with the sound of footsteps following. Emi shot up from the beanbag chair as she heard the footsteps, which seemed to sound closer and closer to her bedroom door. She heard a knock on the door and jumped at the sound ‘Oh no!’
“Emi, the shower is yours,” she heard his husky yet monotoned voice say. Emi ran to the door and flung it open to see Aizawa in the black shirt and grey sweats she lent him. His hair was also up, so she was able to see even more of his face, since usually, he would have his hair down, which covered a lot of his face.
‘Damn he looks good in those gray sweats,’ she screamed internally before she spoke. ‘And his hair in that ponytail! Gosh! He’s so hot!’
“Oh! Uh thanks for letting me know! Sorry about the towel thing,” she laughed, trying to hide her blush at the same time.
“It’s fine,” he said, looking down at her. However, behind her caught his attention. He looked behind her, in which caused Emi to slightly panic. “That’s a lot of manga you have,” he told her.
“Wha- um,” she stuttered as her head swung to face her room then face back at Aizawa. “Oh! That! Yeah, I happened to be a big fan of horror and romance manga,” she laughed, pointing back at the bookshelf of manga in her room. “You can check them out if you want while I shower! Feel free to borrow any!”
“Uh… okay,” he said with his brow raised.
Emi smiled at him, then turned away from him; jetting towards where she put her pajamas and underwear. She stumbled as she grabbed her clothes, causing her underwear to fall on the floor. She yelped and bent down to grab them immediately then looked up at Aizawa, who was still in the doorway, watching her panic. She felt her face heat up, turning red from embarrassment.
Aizawa, on the other hand, realized what had fallen and when Emi looked up at him, he quickly turned his head away from her glance and cleared his throat without a word. He also stepped aside, leaving Emi space to leave her room.
Emi, even more embarrassed, hurriedly grabbed her underwear that fell and shot back up. She laughed lightly, trying to hide her pain, and ran past Aizawa. “Take a manga! I’m gonna shower!” she called out once she reached the bathroom. She immediately opened her bathroom door, closed it behind her once she was in and leaned against the door, dropping to the floor. “Damn it, Emi! You fucked up!”
Her heart was beating fast, and she couldn’t help it. She promised Aizawa no jokes or anything, and here she was, acting like a fool. Though it was mostly an accident, she couldn’t help but think Aizawa was never going to speak to her again after what he saw. She shook her head and got up from the floor and sighed. “Welcome to your funeral, Emi,” she told herself. She stripped out of her own Hero costume, folded it up, and got into the shower. She turned the shower on and let the warm water hit her body. As she sighed again and allowed the water to hit her, she realized something again, causing her to blush.
“Shouta and I shared the shower,” she told herself, causing her face to turn red again. She put both hands on her face and shook her head like before. “Damn it, Emi! Stop thinking like a pervert!”
As Emi was in the shower, Aizawa took up her offer and looked at the manga in her room. He scanned through the bookshelf and saw an array of different romance and horror manga, causing him to question her taste. “Who likes both horror and romance at once?” he said to himself before scanning through the titles. While he scanned, he saw a manga with a familiar title. He lifted his hand up and took the manga out, then opened it up. He flipped through the pages of the pages, making sure this was the manga the thought it was, which it ended up being exactly the manga he remembered.
“This is the manga Oboro use to read,” he whispered to himself. He remembered when Oboro Shirakumo, his high school friend who sadly passed during their second year in U.A., use to rave about the manga in his hand.
“SHOUTA! You gotta read it!” Aizawa remembers his friend say to him, “It’s scary as hell but it’s so good! You gotta read it.”
“I don’t want to.” he recalls his response.
“Your lost then! If you finally decided to read it, I’ll let you borrow it.”
Aizawa smiled at the memory of his friend, but then frowned because his friend was no longer with him. He shook his head, trying to get the memory out of his head for now, and opened the manga. He stood there for a few minutes, reading through the manga. He was too focused on the manga that he didn’t realize Emi was done with her shower.
“Oh, I see you found something you like,” he heard her say behind him.
Aizawa turned to face Emi, who was in pajamas with colorful smiley faces on the pants and one big yellow smiley face on the black shirt. Her hair was also slightly wet, but she was trying to dry it with the towel that was in her hand.
She walked over to him and looked at the manga in his hand, which caused her eyes to light up. “Ha! You picked the best horror manga ever made! It’s scary as shit but it’s literally the best horror manga out there!”
“I know,” he looked down at her, “a friend of mine from U.A. recommended it to me back then, but I refused.”
“Don’t tell me you were scared, Eraser,” she teased.
Aizawa scoffed, “yeah right. I was busy with training back then. I didn’t have time to read it.”
“Well, you should! It’s soooooo good!” she told him.
Aizawa closed the book, causing Emi to back up a bit, and placed it back on the bookshelf. “I don’t have time.”
“If you want, you can borrow it for some time. You know, for when you actually have time to read it. Borrow it as long as you want,” she offered. However, Aizawa shook his head.
“No, it’s okay. It was spoiled for me by my friend,” he told her.
“Aww man! But you should still read it one day! Just let me know and it’s yours!”
“Thanks, I guess,” he said, looking at her again.
“No problem, Shouta. That’s what friends are for,” she smiled up at him. “Ooh! You must want to go to bed! It’s super late already! Let me get you a blanket and pillow.” Emi walked over to her bed and took one of her pillows and handed it to Aizawa, then went into her closet and took out a blanket. She closed the closet door with her foot and walked back to Aizawa, who took the blanket from her. “I’ll open up the couch for you.”
Aizawa nodded, then followed behind her as they went into the living room. She pushed the coffee table away from the couch then lifted the seat to expose the pullout couch.
Once she was done, she clapped her hands together and looked back at Aizawa. “There you are! A nice bed for the night.”
“Thank you,” he told her, causing her to grin. He walked over to the pullout couch and placed the pillow and blanket on it.
“You’re welcome,” she told him. She felt as if she was going to blush again, so she quickly walked away from him, trying to save herself from further embarrassment. It was best if she went to bed already as well. Before she completely made it to her room, she turned back to Aizawa who reached for his phone that he placed on the coffee table before and sat down on the pullout couch. Emi smiled at the innocent view of the man she crushed hard on, but she knew he was too dense to realize how she felt. She could only just take in the moment. “Good night, Shouta,” she softly called out.
Aizawa turned to face where the voice came from and nodded with a slight smile though it was hard to tell from Emi’s view. “Good night, Emi.”
She smiled at him, the made her way back to her room, closing the door behind her. She felt her face fluster and ran into her bed, jumping into it. She grabbed the covers and put them over her, making it seem like she was in a cocoon. She squealed into the blanket, trying to pull herself together. It worked rather quickly though for that once she realized she was in bed, she became tired and began to drift off to sleep.
Emi’s alarm went off at 7 AM, which she groaned once she heard her phone vibrate and ring because of the alarm. She reached over to her nightstand, still with her face into the pillow, and grabbed her phone. Once she did, she finally lifted her head and shut the alarm off. She saw she got a text from her agency, telling her she did not need to come in that morning, since her quirk would not be really needed with the aftermath of the weather, but she should keep her phone close in case they needed her. She locked her phone after reading the text, threw it to the side of her bed, then wrapped herself around her blanket again. She sighed into pillow and felt herself drift off to sleep, then remembered Aizawa slept in her apartment last night.
She shot up from the bed and jumped out, running towards the mirror to fix her hair slightly, then zoomed towards her bedroom door. When she opened it, she sped walked out this time and saw that Aizawa was already in his hero costume and her furniture was back in place.
“Good morning,” she said to him, “you’re up early.”
Aizawa looked towards her direction, “yeah. Gotta get going to the agency. I’m the closest to it, so I can help out as soon as possible if needed.”
“Oh… right,” she looked down quickly, since she hoped she would be able to make him breakfast before he left, but she was too late she guessed. “Would you like coffee or something before you go? I can make it quick.”
He shook his head. “No thank you. I’ll have some at the office,” he told her.
“O-okay,” she said softly. “I’ll walk you out.”
Aizawa didn’t reject her offer to walk him out and instead, began to head towards her front door, with her behind him. Once they reached the door, he took off the slippers she lent him and bent down to put his combat boots on.
“Ha, it seems like we are husband and wife, and I am seeing you out on your way to work, Shouta! So domestic!” Emi joked.
Aizawa groaned as he tied his shoes and stood up. He reached over to grab his coat, then turned around to face her while she grinned up at him. “Shut up.”
Emi let out a laugh, “Oh, Shouta, don’t be shy! You can tell me I will make a good wife for you in the future!”
“What I said about the jokes?” he groaned again.
“That was for yesterday!” she poked him, “today is a new day mister! That means I’m back to my jokes!”
“You would make a terrible wife,” he said coldly.
Emi laughed off his retort, to hide her pain like always, and continued to grin, “you will see, Shouta.”
Aizawa rolled his eyes, “no I won’t.” He reached for her front doorknob to open the door but before he completely opened it, he turned around to face her once more. “Thank you, Emi, for letting me stay here.”
Emi’s heart fluttered and her cheeks turned pink. “You’re welcome, Shouta,” she told him, “Anytime.”
Aizawa nodded and then turned away to open up the rest of the door to walk out. Emi followed behind him watching him walk down the hallway to the elevator. Once he reached it, he heard her voice shout from the other end of the hallway.
“Itterasshai! Future husband!” She called out while waving her hand in the air. She then began to laugh at the way Aizawa’s head turned so fast as a reaction to her comment. She knew he was groaning at her comment but couldn’t help but snicker. She continued to wave at him until she heard the elevator bell ring all the way from her door.
Aizawa turned back once he heard the bell as well. When the elevator door opened, he quickly made his way in, now making Emi the only person in the hall.
She smiled lightly then made her way back into her apartment, closing the door behind her. She then leaned against the door, and sighed heavily, but then smiled again. She thought maybe, just maybe, she could be like that again with him.

Chapter Text
“Musutafu has not seen a blizzard like this for 14 years,” said news anchor on the TV. “We have seen snow, but not like this in a while! So, officials say to please stay at home during the storm until 8 AM tomorrow morning. Schools would be closed until further notice.”
Shouta Aizawa sat down on his couch, typing away on his laptop as the news anchor spoke on his TV. As much as he believed the snow would have been best to train his students in case they were needed in weather emergencies, Nezu decided to close the school and allow the students to be kids while they can. With what happened to U.A. a few years before with class 1-A, Nezu wanted to make sure students can train to their best ability to be heroes, but also stay a kid a little longer.
Aizawa heard a purr, in which he looked down to his side to see a black cat with white paws that looked like socks, laying besides him as it slept. He reached out his hand to pet the cat, causing the cat to take in the attention it was getting. As he was doing that, he heard footsteps coming from behind him, causing him to turn his head to face a woman with seafoam green hair and matching pajamas to his. She did not look so happy; she looked more tired.
“Everything alright, Emi?” he asked.
She walked over to the couch and sat next to Aizawa, sinking into it. She sighed heavily as she put her head on his shoulder, then groaned. “Sora did not want to go to bed. Since Eri told her how much they were going to play in the snow tomorrow, she was overly excited and did not want to go to fall asleep. I gotta tell Eri to not let a two-year-old know everything.”
“You should have called me,” he told her.
“Yeah, but I thought I could handle it. Didn’t wanna be a bother anyways,” she sighed again.
Aizawa closed his laptop and leaned forward, causing Emi’s head to fall from his shoulder. He placed the laptop on top of the coffee table, then leaned back but this time, he wrapped his arm around Emi, allowing her to move closer to him. She placed one hand on his chest as he pulled her in closer, kissing her head as he did.
“Call for me next time,” he told her softly.
She looked up at her husband, giving him a soft smile, “Yeah, yeah.” She leaned up slightly, planting a kiss on his lips, then pulled away to cuddle with him again. “At least we don’t have to work in the morning.”
“Yeah, we could use the day off, huh?”
“It’s very much needed.”
The couple watched the news broadcast together. Emi could not help but reminisce about the time her now husband, stood the night at her old apartment during the blizzard 14 years ago. She remembered acting like a schoolgirl while he was there and to think, now they were married with two daughters, one being Eri, whom they adopted, and a little baby girl that was brought to the world almost three years ago. Future husband now wasn’t a joke anymore.
“Honey?” Emi said, looking up at her husband. “I could go for something. I’m kind of hungry.”
His eyes turned from the tv now to her, looking down into her forest green eyes, “the curry didn’t fill you up?”
She shook her head, “I could use a little snack right now.” She pulled away from his grasp sat up now. “How about some ramen?”
“Ramen?” He looked at her in confusion. “At this hour? Ramen isn’t even a snack.”
Emi pouted at her husband, slightly angry now. “Please don’t tell me you don’t remember what we did the last super blizzard that happened in Musutafu, Shouta.”
It took Aizawa a few seconds before he realized why she brought up ramen. “You mean when I stood at your apartment back then?” he asked.
“Of course!” she told him, “I think we should have a little reminiscing while we have a little alone time.” She brought her hand to his chest and started to play with his shirt. “It would be nostalgic.”
Aizawa gave her a soft smile before putting one hand on the hand that played with his shirt, “fine, we can have some ramen.”
Emi’s eyes brightened up. She leaned towards Aizawa and gave him another peck on the lips. “I’ll go make some.”
Before she could get up from the couch completely, Aizawa grabbed her hand, pulling her back down into the couch. He saw that her face was confused as to why he pulled her back on the couch, but he gave her another soft smile. “I’ll make it this time. You got to make it last time.”
Emi began to blush, as if she was not married to her long-time crush. She felt 21 again. “Y-you sure?” she stuttered.
Aizawa nodded, “yeah, I’m sure.” This time, he leaned in to kiss her, then got up after. He walked over to the kitchen and went into the cabinet that had some packs of ramen in them. He pulled two out, closing the cabinet door after, and went on to prepare the ramen.
Emi could not help but watch her husband as he made the ramen. If 21-year-old Emi knew this was going to be her life, she probably wouldn’t believe it. She got up from the couch and walked over to the kitchen. She walked up behind her husband and wrapped her arms around his waist while she buried her face into his shirt as he stirred the ramen.
Aizawa wasn’t surprised by it, since she did it a lot, and continued to watch the ramen as it boiled in the pot. He put down the pair of chopsticks after a few stirs and patted her hands that were on his stomach. “Clingy much?” he laughed softly. He turned around, causing her grasp to break then looked down at her, noticing that she was pouting again, causing him to smile.
“Maybe,” she responded, cheeks puffed up from her pouting.
Both his hands reached towards her face, allowing him to grab her cheeks, which caused her to whine. “Maybe my ass.”
“You mean my ass,” she joked. “It says property of Emi Aizawa.”
Aizawa scoffed at her comment and let go of her cheeks, “yeah, right.”
He turned back to face the stove and shut off the flame once he heard that it was boiling, and Emi walked to where they stored their bowls. She took two out and set them on the countertop next to the stove so that her husband could pour the Ramen into the bowls. Once he did, Emi took the bowls and winked at him.
“Let me help you with that,” she told him, saying what he told her many years ago.
She walked away, snickering as she did, and Aizawa could not help rolling his eyes, but also smirk at the comment. “You never change, Emi.”
“I know!” she called out. She placed the two bowls on top of their coffee table and moved Aizawa’s laptop to the couch causing their cat, Tuna, named by Eri, to jump off the couch immediately and run away up their house stairs. “What a scaredy cat,” Emi laughed.
“Emi, what did you do to Tuna?” Aizawa said as he walked over to the coffee table with two glasses of water and chopsticks in his hand.
“Nothing! She got scared when I put the laptop right next to her,” Emi explained while she watched Aizawa put down the two glasses of water. “I swear the cat has it out for me! She makes me look bad around you because you spoil her!”
“I do not spoil her,” Aizawa said as he went down to sit next to his wife on the floor.
“Please, Shouta, the cat is spoiled by you. It’s like she wants you to marry her,” Emi half joked. She loved the cat of course, but that cat was more attached to Aizawa than anyone in the house.
Aizawa rolled his eyes and sighed loudly at his wife’s comment. “You’re jealous of a cat, Emi.”
Emi’s face flustered, “WHA-I am not jealous of a cat!” She crossed her arms across her chest and huffed, “If anything she’s jealous of me!”
“And why would that be?” He was egging her on. Sometimes he liked to rile her up.
“Because you’re married to me, not her! Like I would be ever jealous of a cat!” she huffed.
Aizawa slightly snorted at her response, causing her to fluster more. He leaned over to Emi and pinched her cheek like he did before, just this time it was one. “Then there should be no reason to be jealous of a cat.” He leaned back with a smirk on his face as hers was still flustered. He the grabbed his chopsticks and put his hands together, thankful for the meal. “Itadakimasu.”
Emi grumbled and followed, “Itadakimasu.” As much as she still was slightly mad about her husband and the cat, Emi could not help but continue to reminisce about the past. “You know, Shouta,” she started as she swallowed some noodles, “I was ecstatic when you stood the night back then.” She turned to look up at him in which he turned to face her as well. “I was glad you did.”
“Yeah well, I was glad, too,” he told her.
“You didn’t seem that glad,” she deadpanned.
“I wasn’t going to tell you that. It would have fueled you.”
“Just having you there fueled me,” she laughed. “Remember you were jealous that you thought I had a boyfriend that night! The look on your face when you saw my brother’s clothes!”
“I was not jealous,” he told her. Aizawa usually didn’t blush much, but his ears turned a little red.
“Yes, you were!” she teased. She poked at his cheeks, causing him to groan. “Just admit it, Shouta, you were jealous!”
“I’ve never been jealous in my life,” he told her, trying to keep it cool.
“Sure, honey,” she laughed. Aizawa’s brows furrowed, causing Emi to laugh softly. She leaned over to him and grabbed his face, kissing him for a little longer this time. “You look cute when you lie.”
“Shut up,” he responded, causing Emi to laugh.
The couple then heard footsteps coming from behind them. They turned at the same time to see a white-haired pre-teen, who was rubbing her eyes.
“You two are lovey dovey,” said the young girl as she snickered.
“Shouldn’t you be asleep, Eri?” asked Aizawa, “it’s passed your bedtime.”
The young girl walked over to where the couple sat and took a seat on the armchair of the couch. “I just came for some water. I’m a little thirsty,” she told them. “Is that ramen? No fair!”
Emi looked up at Eri and softly laugh, “we are just reminiscing over some ramen, that’s all. We wouldn’t do this daily.”
“Reminiscing about what?” Eri asked, tilting her head in curiosity.
Aizawa sighed, “your mom let me stay over her apartment the last big blizzard we had here 14 years ago when we were young pro heroes.”
Eri squealed, “and you guys are reenacting it! how cute!”
“Isn’t it!” Emi squealed along with Eri, causing Aizawa to groan.
“Wait, papa! And you didn’t date mama back then! How cruel!”
Aizawa sighed and scratched the back of his head, “We were young pro heroes and didn’t have time for it.”
“Sureeee, papa, you did not have time,” Eri teased and made air quotes.
“Sunshine, he was so cruel! Making me wait soooo long!” Emi said dramatically as she put one hand on her chest and her other hand on her forehead, “I thought I was going to be alone forever.”
“Emi, please,” Aizawa groan. “You too, Eri.”
“Oh, come on, papa! Mama was right there, and you waited like ten years later! Shame on you!” Eri told him.
“YEAH! You tell him, Eri!” Emi railed her up.
“Enough, you two,” Aizawa groaned louder this time, “Eri, you should be in bed.”
“But let’s talk about how you kept mama waiting! Imagine if someone else took her!” Eri threw her arms in the air, “Then there would be no Sora-chan! Or any the next baby I’ve been begging you guys to have!”
Emi began to laugh hard, almost activating her quirk, but Aizawa quickly activated his. “Eri, bed. And no more hanging out with the 1-A girls. I swear you are sounding like Ashido and Hagakure right now.”
Emi wiped her tears from laughing, then touched her husband’s shoulder, signaling him that he can blink and deactivate his quirk. “Eri, you’re gonna get your dad mad,” she said, still snickering a little, “get some water and head to bed, Sunshine. You are on big sister duty tomorrow because you wanted to tell Sora about how much fun your snow day is gonna be.”
Eri sighed dramatically and crossed her arms, “fine, fine.” She got up from the armrest and looked down to her father, “this isn’t over, papa. The only way I can forgive you is if you and mama give me another sibling.”
“Eri, bed,” Aizawa looked back at her with his usual grumpy face.
“After I get water,” she told him. Eri walked over to the kitchen and went into the fridge to grab a small water bottle, then closed it behind her. She could hear her father grumble under his breath and her mother still snickering at her father’s face. The young pre-teen made her way to the staircase of their home but before she went upstairs, she turned back to face her parents. “Good night mama and papa,” she called out, “remember, I can only forgive you if I get another sibling!”
“Good night, Eri,” Aizawa groaned once again.
“Good night, Sunshine!” Emi called out after, waving at her direction.
Eri turned back towards the staircase and headed upstairs. Aizawa sighed loudly and Emi patted rubbed his arm as he did. She snicked one last time before she leaned towards her husband and kissed him on the cheek.
“You’re so cute when you are frustrated,” Emi told him. She then lifted the same hand that rubbed his arm and brought it to his hair, brushing her hands through it. “Mister grumpy pants.”
“I am not grumpy,” he told his wife.
Emi leaned in again, this time giving him and kiss on the lips as she let her hand fall to his cheek this time. “Whatever you say, Shouta.”
Aizawa grabbed her hand with his and with his other hand, he brought it to the back of her head. He leaned forward, pushing her back until her back hit the floor. Not hard of course. Emi yelped and her face became flustered as he now was on top of her.
“S-Shouta!” Emi stuttered, face bright pink.
Aizawa smirked then leaned down a bit, leaving only an inch between their lips, “I am not grumpy,” he said, this time in a husky, deeper voice that made Emi feel chills down her spine every time he did. He smirked at her reaction, then laughed lightly before he closed the gap between them, allowing their lips to touch.
Once he pulled away, he continued to smirk at Emi’s flustered face. “You’re such a tease,” she told him.
He lightly laughed at her, then kissed her forehead. “I am not.” He brought himself up, then put his hand out for Emi, in which she grabbed so that she can get up from the floor as well. “You wish I did that back then, huh?” he smirked.
“Maybe…. Yes...” she told him, still with pink cheeks.
Aizawa smiled at her and brought his hand to her cheek, caressing it, “sorry that I didn’t. I was a fool.”
“No shit you were,” she smiled back at him. “But look at you now. You are stuck with me forever, Shouta Aizawa. I stole your heart.”
“Yes, you did,” he laughed softly as Emi poked his chest after her comment.
“AND! You said I would be a terrible wife! Oh, how the tables have turned!” she teased.
“Well, you’re not,” he told her. “You’re a wonderful wife and I apologized years ago.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t hear that!” she lied and put her hand around her ear, “what was that, Shouta?”
Aizawa groaned, “I said you’re the greatest wife ever!”
Emi laughed and brought her arms up to wrap around his neck. “And your only wife.”
“Of course, you’re my only wife,” he scoffed, “like you said, I’m stuck with you forever.”
“Yes, forever,” she laughed, then kissed him. “I love you.”
Aizawa gave her a light smirk before he gave her another kiss. “I love you, too.”
“If you love me, you will give me another little Aizawa,” she giggled, causing Aizawa to roll his eyes. “I think it will also get you on Eri’s good side to have one more.”
“Well then,” he said with his husky voice again, “I guess we should start trying then.”
Emi’s face flushed once more, thinking he wouldn’t agree to it, but she wasn’t going to let the chance go. “L-let’s wash these damn dishes and get to it mister,” she said quickly, causing her husband to smirk.
The couple then quickly gathered the bowls of half-eaten ramen and rushed to clean them. After they were cleaned, Aizawa picked his wife up bridal style. Emi giggled as he did, and he brought her up the stairs and to their room. He laid her down gently on their bed, then hovered over her, smiling down at her.
“No take backs, Emi.”
She wrapped her arms around his neck and giggled, “that’s my line.”
The couple kissed and spent the night together during the blizzard in Musutafu, this time as a happy family that Joke wished for and got.
14 years ago, a few days later after the blizzard
“Eraser!” Emi called out to the underground hero.
Aizawa would usually wince at her voice, but this time he didn’t. Her turned around to see the smile hero waving at him from a few feet away.
Emi jogged towards the pro hero and put her hands behind her back like a schoolgirl. “Eraser! Looks like you finally got a bit more sleep since the last time I saw you,” she laughed. “I could barely see your undereye bags!”
“Well, you know they couldn’t use me much these past few days as we recovered from the snow, so I happened to have the time to rest,” he told her with his usual monotoned voice.
“Well, I’m glad,” Emi smiled up at him.
Eraser looked down at the smile hero as she looked up at him. ‘I guess she actually is kinda…. cute,’ he told himself.
“Hey, Joke,” he said, “want to get ramen? My treat.”
Emi’s face turned bright pink. “Like a date!” she shouted, causing Aizawa to wince at the loudness of her voice. “Eraser, you finally are asking me out on a date!?”
“No, not a date,” he groaned, “as coworkers and as a thank you for letting me spend the night. I owe you. I should repay you.”
Emi waved her hands in front of her and shook her head at the Aizawa, “no need to repay me, Eraser! It was nothing, really!”
Aizawa nodded, “Alright then, I guess I will see you then. Bye, Joke.” Aizawa turned away from her and began walking, causing Emi to panic behind him.
“W-Wait! So, no ramen!?” Emi called out from behind him.
Aizawa smirked for a moment, then turned back to her without the smirk on his face, giving her his usual grim face, “you said I didn’t need to repay you, so I’m going home.”
Ms. Joke jogged over to Eraserhead, then grabbed ahold of one of his arms, “I-UH, you can repay me with ramen! Let’s get some ramen, Eraser!”
“Not as a date,” he told her.
“Not as a date,” she repeated and nodded.
“Good. Now let’s get some ramen. I’m starving,” he told her.
Emi smiled up at Shouta, looking into her crushes eyes in happiness, “Yes! Let’s get some ramen!”
Notes:
Glad you made it to the end!
I JUST HAD TO MAKE AIZAWA CALL EMI CUTE IN THE PAST! I know I skipped out on him calling her cute in the first part, but I made up for it!
Thank you all for reading! I really appreciate it!
Look out for more Eraserjoke one shots from me coming soon! Not quick though cause my vacation ends next week then it's back to work 😭 BUT! I will be putting some out here and there when I get the chance!
Thank you!
