Listen to what a flower says (Kiribaku)(on hold)

Summary:

Bakugou is working as a barista at a small, but popular coffee shop called "Buttercup". It was always rather monotonous, when a friend and coworker decides to order a bouquet of red roses for her aniversary with her girlfriend from a flowershop not to far from where they were working. What will happen if he meets a loud, happy and energetic redheaded florist, who decides to bring the blond a flower every day and becomes friends with him?

I will be including a lot of flowers that have meanings that are important for the story plot and might not be explained in the same chapter. They will come at some point in the story, so please don't spoil the experience of figuring it out with Bakugou in the coments. If you are curious though, feel free to reserch yourself. If the flowers aren't important for the plot, i might put them in the A/N at the end.

Chapter 1: 1. Aniversary roses

Chapter Text

Disclaimer: The meanings of different flowers that will be in this story are going to be important for later in the story, so they mostly won't be explained in the same chapter. They will be explained later on, so please don't spoil anything in the coments. If you want to know about them anyways, feel free to research about it yourselves. If I don't plan on explaining them in the story, then they will be put into the A/N at the end.

Also I am not a 100% sure about the title yet. If you have ideas let me know!

Sorry about spelling mistakes!

The fresh afternoon air was chilly and smelled like old leaves and earth. October was right around the corner and the orange and yellow trees were showing the change of season. The wind blew through the colord trees and the red, spiked up hair of a certain someone, who was carrying a big bouquet of beautiful red roses down the streets of the little city he was living in. He turned a corner and looked at his phone with a little confused and helpless frown before he scanned his surroundings and finally saw his dessired destination.

He quikly made his way to the little coffee shop, "Buttercup". A sweet name for a cute shop. The cafe was somewhat in the middle of a row of houses, which were a mix of normal residential houses, boutiques and shops. You could see it very clearly and in an instant as soon as you enter the little shopping street.

There were a few tables and chairs outside the shop, but non were occupide, since the wheater was somewhat cold today and a cool wind was constantly blowing. The house had two stories and a balcony with two tables on it. Autumn flowers were neetly planted in the flower boxes on the balcony and the one infront of the shops' window. The big sign with the cafes name on it was in a nice light brown color that reminded of chocolate and fancy golden lettering. All in all the shop looked very inviting and as the redhead came closer and the door opened, because of a leaving customer, he could feel the warm, sweet and slightly bitter scent of coffee and cream fill his lungs as he took in a deep breath. He took the last few steps towards the door pushing it open and causing the little bell over his head to jingle sweetly.

The readhead looked around the inside of the shop. There were tables and chairs neetly placed in the shop in a nice order, so that they wouldn't be to close to each other, leaving enough privacy for the customers to enjoy their coffee in peace. The little table in the corner next to the window cought his eye. It was one of the tables that was placed intfront of a sofa, that went along the walls and had a chair across from it. It looked very nice and cozy and he wished that he would have come earlier, so that he could enjoy a hot cup of coffee in that seat. It was almost 6pm on a saturday and the shop would close soon.

"HEY, SHITTY HAIR! How about you stop fucking ignoring me and tell me what the fuck you want to order. We are closing soon and i am not planning on working overtime because of some shitty extra who needs to be all annoying and come in five minutes before closing time." A somewhat pissed, deep raspy voice said and forced the surprised male out of his daze.

He turned to see an angry blonde behind the shops counter, pircing him with his sharp, ruby red eyes. His arms were crossed infront of his chest and he was tapping his index finger on his upperarm in annoyance. He wore a black apron with golden writting on it, that huged his small waist and brought out his broad shoulders. He wore a white button-up shirt underneath with the same golden lettering on the little chest pocket. His hair was spiky and messy and stuck out in all directions, but you could tell that it wasn't just his bedhead but neetly combed and groomed.

The blonde male did indead look very atractive to the gay mess that is the redhaird boy, standing in the little shop, cought off-guard.

The shorter male looked the other up and down and locked his eyes with the others again, starring straight into his soul. The Redhead shudderd at the pircing stare and finally remembered the reason he was here in the first place. He rubbed his neck with his free hand and smilled awkwardly at the other with his wide, sharptoothed smile. "Ah, eh... Yeah sorry 'bout that. I am actually not here for coffee. I have an order for someone called Uraraka and was supposed to drop the bouquet off here. "

The blond continued to stare at the Redhead, or more specifically at his teeth. His expression didn't change the slightest and the younger was starting to think, that the other male hadn't listened to him when he suddenly started shouting and startling him. "Oi, Roundface. There is someone here for you. Get your ass in here so i can go home already." 'roundface..?' the boy with red horns thought as he felt his heart slowing down again from the little shock he just had. The staffroom door swung open and a small brunette walked in with an excited bounce in her step. She was wearing the same outfit the other male was wearing, except, that she didn't wear an apron. Her big round eyes started sparkling when she saw the big red bouquet of roses in the males hands.

"Ahh, they are beautiful! They're exactly what i wanted." She practically jumped to the red male who was surprised to see such a frindly spirit after the incounter he just had. "Thanks for bringing it here, i would have picked it up myself, but i wouldn't have made it in time before you close. Thank you so much uhm..., Kirishima!"

She looked at the little nametag pinned on the darkgreen apron Kirishima was wearing that was no longer hidden from the bouquet that Uraraka was now holding. "No problem. It's part of our customer service after all, to deliver the flowers if requested." Kirishima said with a big smile that made his eyes crincle a bit and showed off his shark-like teeth. "So who is the lucky person to recive those roses. They must mean a lot to you." He asked with a light tone that didn't make the question seem too nosy, but rather frindly and casual.

The smaller gril started blushing and focused her eyes on the flowers with a soft smile "They're for my girlfrind. We have our two year anniversery tomorrow and i wanted to surprise her with them""That's so sweet of you. I am sure she's gonna love them. And congratulations on your relationship. " "Thank you so much I-" "Hey pink cheaks. Stop with the mushy talk and help me clean up. I am not getting paid for working over closing hours and i want to go home already."

The redheads attention went back to the ash-blond who he somehow forgot was still there. He seemed to have gone to the back to get a broom, since he was now sweeping the floor in fast, but smooth movements. "yeah, yeah, I'll be right there. Sorry bout Bakugou, he's a bit cranky and angry sometimes, but he's a good guy."

"ROUNDFACE"

"YEAH I'M COMMING, GEEZ! Well it was nice to meet you Kirishima. Come again sometimes, kay?" The brunette smiled as she turned around to have her body face Bakugou but her head still looking at Kirishima. "Sure I might do that actually. See ya. Bye Bakugou!" The Readhead threw the angry blond a toothy smile who didn't look up and just let out a loud 'tsk' and mumbled something under his breath that sounded like a 'whatever', but Kirishima couldn't really hear it clearly. He waved goodbye and went out the door, the little bell chimeing behind him as he left the shop and went out into the now freezing air.

A cold shudder went down his spine and he wrapped his arms around his body, trying to warm himself up as he made his way back to the little flower shop he was working at.

"I ordered some flowers for the tables and as decoration from a nearby flowershop yesterday. They should be delivered today. Thank you again for sugessting the shop young Uraraka. The flowers they have there really are beautiful." The tall and very muscular man said to the smaller female infront of him, laughing with his iconic smile. His blond hair was commed and gelled back slick with two hair strands sticking up into the air.

It's been a few days since the florist was at the coffee shop and Uraraka had sugested to get some flowers as decoration for the cafe, since it would make it more homey and ad some color.

The boss of the shop, Toshinori Yagi, left trough the front door, wishing a good workday and disapeared into the autumn air. Uraraka went to the back to make some calls and to sort the stocked coffeebeans. The shop wasn't very busy at the moment, since it was a tuesday morning and most people were at work and would only come in to quikly get a coffee to go. The grumpy ash-blond boy, Bakugou, was standing behind the counter cleaning some used cups and the coffeemashine when the doorbell jingled and a fresh, cool breeze entered the warm café along with a smiling, chearful, redheaded florist.

He was carrying a braided basket with many small bouquets of purple and yellow flowers. The small wind blew a pleasant smell into the empty cafè of lavender and yellow autumn daisies.

"Hey Bakugou, it's me again. Man it sure is cold today, you could think it's November already. I thought for sure my ears are going to fall of." "you know there are things called a hat. You should try it sometimes, Shitty hair." The blonde said facing the redhead with an unimpressed and a bit annoyed expression, rolling his eyes, but it could also just be his resting bitchface.

"Shitty hair? I have a name you know, it's Kirishima Ejiro. And my hair isn't that different from yours. Besides a hat would only ruin it when it's spiked up." Kirishima pouted with an extremly over the top, hurt face, to annoy the angry male infront of him. "Whatever you say."

Kirishima placed the basket down on the edge of the counter aranging it a bit so it doesn't threaten to fall off.

The quiet was about to get uncomfortable when the door of the staffroom suddenly flew open and the bouncy girl with pink cheecks enterd. "Whaa, Kirishima, you came again. It's so good to see you! I see you brought the flowers the boss orderd. Do you mind helping me set them up on the tables? I know it's not part of your job, but i could use the support, plus I'll pay you a coffee when were done. Of course only if you don't have to get back to work right away." Uraraka rambled with her enthusiastic voice, makeing it hard to follow due to the fast speed. " Ahh, ehm ... yeah... sure ok, I can help you. I don't actually have work today. I just came to bring the flowers, since the flowershop is quite busy in the mornings and no one else could come any time soon." Kirishima took the basket from the counter, which already filled the cafè with its sweet flowery scent.

"Really? That is really nice of you to go through the trouble to bring the flowers on your day off. You didn't have to do that you know." The brunette already started placeing the little bouquets in the vases on the tables, occasionally asking help from the florist with a pleading look. "Don't worry about it. I wanted to come back here anyway, so I thought I might as well help the shop a little."

"Are you working at the shop as a part time job to finance college?" she asked casually to ceep the conversation going and not letting an awkward silence fill the room "No I actually don't go to college. The shop is a family business and I always knew that I wanted to take over it someday. It's my calling. Though sadly I am not old enough quite yet to run it myself." "Don't you think it's stupid to not study anything that promises a brighter future? I mean you don't really earn that much as a florist now do you?"

Uraraka and Kirishima looked at the ash-blonde in surprise, not expecting him to actually take part in the little small talk they held. He looked at them with a face and tone in his voice that would tell you he doesn't actually care about an answer, but Kirishima could see something in them, like he was actually curious. The sharktoothed boy rubbed the back of his neck and laughed sheepishly.

"Yeah I guess, but... flowers were always something very important to me. I always liked how they could make people feel with their colors and fragrance. It's wonderful to see people smile at the flowerarangements you make, because they make them happy. Bouquets aren't just flowers tied together, they tell a story, an emotion you want to share with someone you care about. It's so much easier to talk through flowers than with words. There aren't any weird phrases or wrong statements you accidantally make that you didn't mean. Flowers speak clearly and sweetly. And being the one, that is able to make those feelings, you want to share, as clear as possible and helping others with it and makeing them happy, I just always wanted to be that person, you know. Cheesy isn't it, heh?"

"Not at all! I think thats really beautyful you know. The flowerbouquet you made me a few days ago, it made Tsu really happy. I was able to show her my emotions so much easier and clearer. I think a florist, who really understands, what flowers are capabale of and who is really passionat about his work is something really wonderful. I'm sure you already made alot of people very happy." "Thanks Uraraka, that means alot."

They finished setting up the flowers on the tables just when the little bell symbolized that the door to the shop was opend and two customers entered. "Mmmhhhmm. Something smeels really nice in here. Is it lavender?" "Ahh, welcome! And yes it is. We decided to freshen the cafe up with some nice flowers. Do you like it?" Uraraka smiled at the customers with a hopeful glims in her eyes. The woman from earlier answered with a warm expression "Yes I do. It's really relaxing." "I'm glad! Would you like to sit at a table or is it for to go?" "I think we might actually stay for a bit. What do you think dear? Let's stay a bit." "I don't see why not." The male smiled to his wife with loving eyes. "So a table for two it is. Please follow me. Do you already know what you want to drink, or would you like a menue?" "I'd like a pumpkin spice mocha and a glas of water, please." "I'll just have a black coffee. Thank you." "Coming right up! Hey Bakugou you got that?" "Yeah, yeah I heard. I am not deaf!" Uraraka playfully roled her eyes at the blond overly annoyed and turned back to the couple that was taking their seats. "Please make yourself comfortable while you wait." "We will, Thank you."

"See Kirishima, there is nothing cheesy about making others feel relaxed and happy." She winked at the redhead while getting back to the counter. "So what can I get you? I promised afterall that I'll pay you a coffee."

"Ah yes, I totally forgot about that, hehe" he rubbed his neck with a goofy grin "I don't really know what's good here, so ... I guess surprise me?" "Will do! Hey Bakuhoe, one surprise for the sweet florist. You can take any place you like while you wait." She mentioned to the redhead "WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME, ROUNDFACE?" "Oh relax, Bakugou. I'm just teesing you, besides your not really in the position to complain about a nickname, you know!" she snickered mischievous at the angry blond, whos face got red from anger and slight embarassment.

The florist laughed at the pair behind the counter, squabbling about the namecalling. He turned his attention to the little seat in the corner, which he had noticed the first time he was here.

The sun was shining through the big window, throwing a warm light into the shop. The redhaired male sat down on the couch, that went all the way along the wall. The soothing scent of the lavender filled his lungs and his shoulders relaxed even more into the soft furniture. The streets outside were very slowly filling with more people. Couples going for a walk together, elderly women walking their dogs or just groups of friends going out for brunch or late breakfast or just to go and look around the different shops.

"One cinnamon Maple Latte!" The cheerful voice of the little woman brought Kirishima out of his gaze and the sweet smell of the steaming coffee traveled into his nose. "That smells great Uraraka, thank you.""You don't have to thank me, Bakugou made it after all. Well enjoy your coffee."

Kirishima smiled after Uraraka, his eyes wandering to the handsome barista behind the counter, busy cleaning it with a wet towl. The morning light that came trough the window made his fair skin look so smooth and gave it a warm tone. His blond hair had a golden touch from the yellow sun that was slowly traveling up the blue, cloudless sky.

The redhead couldn't deny the beauty of the male and his grin turned into a dreamy smile. He leaned his cheek against his hand that he had proped up against the table and turned his eyes back to the window, his smile staying on his relaxed face. He took a sip from his Latte and narrowed his eyes a bit, his cheeks dusted with a light pink.

No one notice the little glances, thrown in the crymsoneyed males direction. At least he didn't. Uraraka smiled slightly towards the explosive blond, who had a somewhat calm expression on his face while looking at the sweet florist every now and then, whose slightly brown tane looked like light caramel in the golden light of the sun.

In this little moment the stupid redhead looked breathtaking. Though he didn't know about the tiny blush brushed on the blond's face. And neither did the other.
