Loki's nervous. Scratch that, Loki's fucking terrified and has no idea how this ethereal, goddess-like person nearby would react to the present's predicament. Would she hate Loki? Be disgusted? Be weirded out and break things off? There are so many possibilities than anyone would know what to do with, much less deal with in a few minutes. But here it is anyway, unmerciful with the allotted time and demanded it be resolved right now.
Loki's whole body freezes when the aforementioned goddess-like person nearby shifted and stretched before slowly opening her eyes. Breaths were held, anticipation and anxiety swirling in gut.
"What're you doing there?"
Loki was confused and this confusion was accompanied by a tilting of the head from the trickster.
"You're too far away."
At this, the girl moved almost as fast as lightning and soon, Loki was gasping, body colliding with the girl's with a small oof. A hand ran through raven hair while another was caressing a shirt-covered pale back comfortingly; albeit lazily.
"S'way too early to be up. And besides, y'can't blame me for wanting more cuddle time with my princess, can you?" the mortal girl asked, kissing the side of Loki's head right after and something warm and fuzzy overtook her form. Loki thinks she might have even shed a tear at what her girl said.
She sniffles quietly, burying her face in her lover's chest and she feels her hands resuming their ministrations on her hair and back. Loki's sure she couldn't have felt more loved and appreciated even when she's in a different form and she swears she just fell in love with this girl even more.
"You know I love you no matter which form you take, don't you? Your physical appearance will never change that."
Another sniffle left the goddess and she leaned up, capturing her love's lips in a grateful kiss, conveying words she didn't know how to say into it. There was no hesitation as all of Loki's kisses were reciprocated with the same intensity and enthusiasm; determined to melt and wash away all of her worries and insecurities with this certain subject.
Loki pulled away and reassumed her previous position on her beloved's chest, smiling now. A moment of silence washes over them both before one of them decides to speak again.
"You know, it's kinda not fair."
"What is?"
Loki feels her shift from underneath her, "You're still hot no matter which form and I look trash beside you in all of 'em." There was a teasing and whining tone behind her words which made Loki laugh out and hit her lightly on the forearm.
"You do not," she grumbled and leaned up, pecking her lips again. "You're the most beautiful woman in all of the nine realms, my heart." She tells her, swiping her hair out of her face and looking into her eyes so she knows she means it.
"You're just saying that so I'll make you more chocolate chip pancakes later, aren't you?"
"Definitely."
They both burst into giggles at the exchange and it left them both feeling giddy, happy and content. Well, in Loki's case, in love and happy.
"I love you, my precious." Loki tried again, a dopey grin forming on her face.
"Love you too, my princess."
