Chapter Text
People usually starts a story with it was a very perfectly normal day, so perhaps that is how we start this one.
It's a perfectly normal day, birds are singing, flowers of blooming, quoting Undertale genocide route boss fight initiating, surely, nothing would ever interrupt this very perfect-
Tit! Tit! Tit! Tit!
"LUQMAN, TURN OFF YOUR ALARM!"
-day. Oh, well.
A whine can be heard from the room. Harriz, the second oldest of the Howard sibling walks up the stairs to his younger brother room. The door slams open.
And there he was, under the blanket still sleeping. Well, struggling to sleep as the loud alarm clock is blaring in his eardrum. Harriz sighs and walks in towards the bed and turning off the alarm.
“Luqman, wake up. School’s gonna start.” Harriz opens the blinds of the windows, letting sunlight shine into the room, right where Luqman is sleeping. Another whiney noise from under the blanket.
“Wake up!” He pulled the blanket off the bed.
“Harriz! No!” No longer under the comfort of the blanket, Luqman gets up.
“You are going to be late if you don’t wake up and shower, right now.”
“But, it’s too early. And isn’t it Saturday?”
“Well, sorry, baby. But you’re already running late. And no, it is Monday.”
Luqman rubs his eyes and grumbles in annoyance.
“Can you just call in sick for me?”
“Go shower, then come down for breakfast. I already prepared them.” Harriz says, as he walks towards the door, and out of the room, mindful to keep the door close. Luqman takes his phone from the nightstand. Messages from a few people and some group chat someone put him in for something that he does not remember. Also, some unknown numbers. Luqman paid them no mind, scrolling through all the messages, only reading the important like the announcements and some homework reminders in the class group chat.
Ding! A new message. Luqman smiled and clicked the message.
Mom <3
Good morning, sweetie! It’s night here. Are you already up for school?
Luqman’s smile grew wider at the message. His mom still has the time to message even when she’s on a business trip. His fingers swiftly press on the keys, typing his response.
‘Just woke up, but I’m ready 😊’
‘ How is it over there?’
Ding! A response. That was fast.
Mom <3
That’s good, baby!
It’s very chilly here. Your father does not enjoy it, no worries tho, it’ll be better in the morning
I have to go now, your father’s calling for me
You have a nice day, sweetie! <3
‘Love you, mom’
Luqman took his towel and walks into the shower. Better get ready for school.
Walking down the stairs, Luqman brushes his blonde hair down, as his bed hair isn’t really the prettiest thing ever in the world.
“Hey, good morning.” Harraz, the oldest brother greets him.
“Pancakes with blueberry jam. Your favourite.” Harriz says as he puts down a plate in front of Luqman’s seat.
“Morning, Harraz. I thought you already flew back to Australia today.” Luqman sits down.
“Something came up, so I decided to extend my stay.” Harraz pours some syrup on the pancake before taking a big bite out of it.
“Alright, then.”
“Come on, eat up. You’re going to be late.” Harriz voice chimed in from the back.
“You say that as you put more pancake into my plate?” Luqman raised an eye. Harraz chuckled at the statement.
“Oh shut up, nothing’s wrong with having more pancakes.”
“Don’t worry, Harriz. We’ll always love your cooking. But it seems like you’ve burned some of this.” Harraz says, holding a slice of pancake, the whole back of it had been burned. Harriz’s face turns a shade of red. Luqman let out a big laugh while Harraz just smirks at his twin.
“Well, it wasn’t my fault. Luqman wasn’t waking up, so I had to go to his room. I forgot one of the slices is still on the pan!”
Harraz let out a laugh. Harriz is pretty pissed. Luqman just smiled.
What a way to start a day.

“Sai, hurry up! We’re going to miss the bus.”
“Ok, alright!” Saiful walks out of his room, putting on his socks, the pair is obviously mismatched, but he pays no mind as he slips them on and walks towards the door where his sister are waiting for him.
“Do you have to be late every day?” His sister asked, tying her hair up in a bun.
“Says you.” Saiful spat back.
“What is that supposed to mean?” Tiana narrowed her brown eyes at him, still struggling to tie up her hair.
“You’re struggling to tie your own hair up. You only put it up when you don’t wash it!” He sticks his tongue out at the last sentence. His hand waves vertically in front of his nose, while mimicking a disgusted expression.
“You idiot, I did wash my hair, yesterday!”
“Ew, Tiya did not wash her hair!” Saiful shouted, so all the neighbourhood can hear.
“Shut up!” Tiana quickly covers his mouth. Saiful’s shouting came out muffled.
“Saiful Maxwell, stop making fun of Tiya. I know you didn’t wash your hair either.” A voice called out from behind together with the sounds of keys locking a door. They both turned around. Their older brother, Zahin. His green eyes lazy at the both of them.
“Come on now, we’re going to miss the bus.” He says, putting the keys into his pockets.
“You always take her side.” Saiful pouted, dissatisfied.
“I didn’t take a side, was just stating the obvious.” Zahin says. Saiful eye rolls at the statement. Zahin let out a chuckled.
“Last one there is a rotten egg!” Saiful exclaimed, blowing raspberries, as he ran down the street, towards the bus stop
“He’s so unbearable and childish. I can’t believe I’m related to that!” Tiana says, facial expressions morphing into one of disgust.
“He’s just a kid. He’ll grow out of it. It’s not like he’s actually hurting anyone.” Zahin says, turning to Tiana. She’s grumbling in frustration as the damn hair tie wouldn’t keep it up.
“Here.” Zahin offers, taking out a comb. Tiana looks at him, puzzled.
“Let me help you.” Zahin says. Tiana turns around. Zahin brushes his sister’s hair, swiftly but carefully. Putting the clumps of hair up together, styling it into a messy bun. Tiana always hated messy buns, she says it makes her face look big, but Zahin never thought of it that way. He’s not the best at it, but he enjoys braiding and tying Tiana’s hair when they were children.
“There, done. You should really cut your hair, it’s too long now.” Tiana takes out her mirror, checking if there’s anything wrong. Everything's good, alright.
“I was going to but I just didn’t have time. I even thought of just doing it myself.” Tiana says, as they both started walking down the street. Zahin let out a small laugh.
“What, you think I can’t cut my own hair?” Tiana asks, raising one eyebrow. Zahin just smiles and keeps on walking.
“Zahin!”
“What? I didn’t say anything!” Zahin says as he laughs once more. Tiana pouts, slapping her brother’s wrist.
“Ow! You need to get your temper in check!”
“Servers you right!”
“Hey, are you guys coming or not?!”
The two quickly run towards their little brother who is already sitting at the bus stop.
A very perfectly normal day, indeed.
