"What did you do this time?" Gyro shouted from the other side of the lab. The room plunged into darkness as Fenton went towards the power conductor. He should have known that something like this would happen.
“I swear, it wasn’t me.” Fenton’s voice came out, the younger man closer than Gyro thought he was and nearly screamed when said man bumped into him. “At least, I don’t think it was.” The tiny space now lit from the flashlight of Fenton’s phone.
Gyro couldn’t help but groan, resisting the urge to run his hand over his face in frustration. Instead he glanced over to Fenton illuminated figure and couldn’t help the smile that graced his face. If he was trapped in the dark of the lab with anyone, he was glad it was with his boyfriend.
“Come on, Fen.” Gyro huffed, reaching out for Fenton’s hand. The younger bird was a little awestruck at the gesture. Usually when at word Gyro liked to keep things professional. No nicknames, not kisses, and definitely not holding his hand. But they were alone in the lab, and that must have been good enough for Gyro. “Let’s see if we can reset the breaker.”
