Someya Yuujirou can't cook, at all. That was a well-known fact to everyone.
But he resent the fact.
Yuujirou glared at the ingredients on the table in him and his roommate's shared dorm. “I can do this. I definitely can.”
He'll prove them wrong...because today, he can and will make a pie. He already had the complete ingredients, and he made extra sure to double check the recipe book Hiyori allowed him to borrow.
He can't go wrong in this one.
Except that was just him.
“What the hell does this even mean...?” Yuujirou grumbled, reading over the recipe book. He set it down. “...I guess it won't hurt to try.”
He rolled his sleeves up and started to ready his wand. An apple pie is fairly easy to make, screw instructions.
And so, the disaster began.
“Here goes,” he began to say the words that were on the books, and as if this was the smartest thing, he stepped back.
As he was in the middle of chanting, Yuujirou took another step back, not noticing a banana peel behind him. He tripped. “An apples, ah–?!” he blurted before falling onto the floor, hitting his back.
And that's when it happened.
The spell was out of his wand within seconds, and it all but hit the basket full apples.
Yuujirou sat up slowly, his expression terrified. Oh no...

“Suzumi, have you seen Yuujirou?” Aizou asked the girl while they were reading in the library.
She looked at him, confused. “You haven't seen him?”
Aizou shook his head. He hadn't seen Yuujirou the whole day.
Hiyori considered for a moment before finally answering. “Well, I don't know, this morning he asked me if he could borrow my cookbook.”
“Your what–?” now Aizou was the confused one. “And did you give it to him?”
“Yeah...he said he was going to do something.”
Something.
Aizou didn't know whether that was a bad thing or what. But he settled for the former. He had a bad feeling about this.
The blonde stared at her in disbelief. Hiyori panicked. “W-what is it?”
“Suzumi, do you know where he could be right now?” Aizou asked, standing up.
“Uh,” Hiyori hesitated; a sweat ran down her cheek. “I- I think he's in your shared dorm? That's the only place I could think of, since- maybe he's...you know, practicing cooking?”
Ah.
“Thanks, Suzumi, I'll buy you a new cookbook.” Aizou said before leaving in a hurry, not minding Hiyori's confused shouts.
“Wait! Don't forget the cans for our project...!” was the last thing he heard before her voice faded away.
“New cookbook...?!” Hiyori frowned. “That's the only cookbook I have...!”
Aizou ran down the hallways as fast he could.
If what he was thinking was right...
Damn it, Yuujirou, everyone knows you can't cook...!
Eventually, Aizou arrived at their shared dorm, panting. The blonde huffed and grabbed the handle, taking a deep breath. He wished at least their living room would be safe.
He opened the door to their room and entered, muttering an “I'm back” before taking his shoes off.
...at least there was no smoke? Aizou still had his doubts. The dorm was quiet, but he knows someone was likely here.
Then, an apple came rolling out the kitchen.
Without skipping a beat, Aizou headed there–and was surprised to find the kitchen clean, with Yuujirou standing there beside the table, yawning. On the table was an apple pie.
“Y-Yuujirou?” Aizou seemed baffled as he stepped inside.
“Oh. Welcome back.” Yuujirou greeted him. “I made pie.”
The blonde walked over, eyeing the pie.
“There's no poison in there, idiot.” his partner deadpanned.
“...you tried baking?”
“Yeah.”
Aizou observed the boy. He was acting strangely calm.
“Try it.”
Aizou gulped and picked up the fork. He took a bite. The blonde opened his eyes.
“This is...actually good.” he complimented.
“You think so?” Yuujirou asked quietly.
“Yeah.” Aizou chuckled. “You did great.”
“...I see. Enjoy, then.” the blue head said before leaving.
Aizou watched him as he went. “Just what on earth happened?” he muttered to himself.
Then, he remembered something.
“Right. The cans.” Aizou sighed and set his fork down, heading to the cabinets.
He opened it, and his eyes widened.
Before Aizou could close it immediately, a bunch of apples fell out, hitting his face.
...so that's why he left in a hurry.
Aizou sighed heavily.
“You really don't belong in the kitchen.”
