Work Text:
“ Are you a religious man Mr. Phillips?” Camila asked after the office door had shut.
“ The only man I fear is God, Ms. Noceda.” The director said as he leaned back in his chair, an evil smirk forming on his lips.
“ Ms.Noceda, I’m afraid I’m going to have to stop you right there.” Dan said, interrupting just as Camila had begun to speak. “ I’m not quite sure how much money you think you're going to get out of all this, but, I do know that if you even attempt to put whatever half baked plan you’ve come up with into motion.” He paused as he leaned over the desk. “ I’ll take you for everything you own, Including the clothes off your back.”. He leaned back into his chair once more, thoroughly enjoying the shocked look on the woman across from him.
“ Do you really think I care about your money, Mr. Phillips?” The smirk on his face turned into a look of confusion. “ Do you really think I care about your money? “ The question was repeated in the same tone as it had been before.
“ Ms. Noceda, whatever games you-” Dan nearly jumped out of his seat as a hand slammed onto the table in front of him.
“ Do you think I care about your money?” Camila repeated, this time with venom dripping from her words, barely controlled rage visible in the lines on her face.
“ No, Ms. Noceda!” worry seeping into his voice, as he reached up to wipe his forehead.
“ Do you think I'm scared of you?”
“ No, Ms. Noceda.”
“ I want to know why you decided not to call me when you learned my daughter hadn’t arrived.” Camila leaned over the counter as she spoke, stopping right in front of Dan's face.
“ I thought you had changed your min-”.
“Bullshit!” Camila snapped, grabbing Dan by the collar of his shirt as she did.
“ Do you think I’m stupid! Do you think I can’t tell when you're lying?” Camila snarled in his face.
“ No ma’am!”.
“Then tell me the truth!”. The words were spoken quietly, yet to Dan they were the loudest thing in the room.
" I didn’t want to give your money back, if I pretended that you had changed your mind but forgot about the money I could keep it so I told the staff that you had informed me ahead of time she wouldn’t be coming!” Dan yelled, sweat practically forming rivers on his face.
“ My daughter has been missing for three months, and it has only just come to my attention because you wanted to keep 500$?” Camila spoke in a calm tone, but her face reflected the opposite.
“ Now I wouldn’t go th-”.
“ If you're still in Connecticut when I find my daughter.” Camila said quietly as she pulled him closer to her face.
“ Not even god will be able to save you from me.” Camila let go of his shirt and walked out of the room.
