“Oh,” Zeke says, sharp smile widening. He takes his glasses off, places them on the low coffee table as he slides off his chair and onto his knees, tone low. “So this is what it's about. We did get interrupted, last time, after all. I’m so sorry. I hadn’t realised how inconsiderate I was being, to such an esteemed guest. Welcome home dear,” he says archly, looks at him with darkening eyes as he reaches forward, one hand already resting lightly on Levi's right knee. “What would you like first? Coffee, tea, or me?”
“That," Levi says curtly, "Is quite possibly the worst line I’ve ever heard you spout.”
All Levi Ackerman wants, in his life as a private eye, is to be able to afford more than one good suit, some peace and quiet, and something other than cheap black tea. All Zeke Yeager, professional idler and peripatetic irritant does, is throw this into disarray. Sometimes, they meet in the middle.
