After he put his letter into a mailbox - hoped to be send to his best friend quickly - The Owl Demon saw the letter that was given by unknown creature after the sender came and said with a deep voice.
"Would you see this finds it's way to King Clawthrone?"
Hooty remembered he was big, has a pair of wings, eyes like King and had two curly sharp horns on his skull-like head. He saw the letter and "to King" was written on the letter. The letter was black with golden font colour for its writing. Hooty was surprised.
"Oh my gosh!" Hooty gasped, then he saw a yellow bug walking on the letter. Naturally, followed by his belly instinct, he tried to ate the bug by swallowed the bug and the letter simultaneously, "Oopsie daisy, I think it was a junkmail."
"Hooty!" Eda screamed from afar, "Do you want to eat or what?! I made some good food for you. Bugs included!"
Hooty immediately came back into The Owl House, forgotten for what had he done and important thing that he should give to King instead of ate it.
"Uuuuuhhh, Edaaaaaa," Luz mumbled weakly, almost like a slur. She was laying on the sofa and her face was kinda pale with watery eyes. She took a tissue and snorts loudly until King can hear it from upstairs, "Where are youuuu?" asked the human, "I feel weird now."
"Eda!" yelled King. He walked down from the stairs and saw Luz on the sofa, "Look! There's something wrong from Luz."
"Huh? Wait," then Eda told Hooty if he wanted for other foods or more bugs, Hooty have to find those by himself, then The Owl Lady turns her head to look at her human kid. Luz was sitting on the sofa with half of her body loosely slump from Eda's sofa. Her face flushed red, sweat dropping from her face and her arms, weak half-lidded eyes, withered arms and sore voice. Her withered arm reached for a tissue and she covered her running nose with tissue so she can blew her snot away. Then her lips moved and murmured but it was small like a whisper, but maybe it just what the sick people does.
Eda sticked her hand palm on Luz sweaty forehead and she felt unusual warmth from Luz forehead. Then, Eda remembered something what humans do when they're unwell. She put her hand into her big fluffy hair and she moved her hand, searched and ruffled her hair only to find a normal human digital thermometer that she found (read: stole) when she used to have the portal door. She clicked a button and a beep sound appeared from the thermometer. Eda twitched her finger and moved the thermometer closer to Luz, "Open your mouth, Luz," she said.
"Aaaaa," the human opened her mouth and Eda put the thermometer in slowly. Next, Luz closed her mouth and she waited for a couple of minutes for the result. When the thermometer beeped, Luz surprised that 101.3 °F was written on the thermometer screen. Immediately, Eda took the thermometer to see the result and her eyes widened.
"Okay, Luz. Seems like you're really sick now and you're free from duties today. Use the sofa blanket for a while. I'll cook, you'll eat and you have to take a rest in your room after eating. No objections."
Heard that, King disappointed because he can't show off his new ability to Luz. Few hours ago, Luz agreed and enthusiastic when King said that he want to show off his new ability to Luz in the front yard. Luz tried to cheer King up by patted his head and said, "I'm so sorry, King. Maybe later when I'm well already." Eda volunteered to substituted Luz and decided to join with King, tested their new ability and tried to adapt with it.
Feeling bored in her light purple sleeping bag, Luz decided to kill the time by pick a yellow cat-like tamagochi from her jacket pocket and played with it. Luz knew she supposed to sleep at that time, but she can't sleep at all because: first, it was in the morning. Second, she can felt her body temperature increased which made her way too uncomfortable to sleep. Three, she can't still get over the fact that she and Amity officially became a girlfriends.
"I can't believe this is real. We're girlfriends right now," Luz cupped her face with her own palm after she finished with her tamagochi. The image of Amity can't escaped from her mind, even though she tried so hard but the images of "cotton candy haired goddess" seems like won't get out of her mind.
Because Luz still can't close her eyes, she remembered the day she met her girlfriend. Amity Blight, the green haired girl of Abomination track, known as the Little Miss Perfect of Hexside Academy for being the top in the school in every aspects with a golden star "top student" pinned on her chest and put down to the others who she assumed as weak. For example, she bullied Willow and she undermined Luz because Luz is a human that very impossible to master magic.
"Ah yes, your mother chocked me at the first time we met when I pretended to become Auntie Willow's abomination," Luz murmured and giggled, "I will tell my kids like that, ha."
When the day Luz borrowed her Azura book to Amity and planned to make a secret Azura Fan Club between them, Luz realized that Amity can be friendly too. Maybe she can be a good friend with her and that was true because since that their relationship improved with greeted her in the first day Luz accepted in Hexside.
The Grom Dance moment was one of the memorable moment between them. It was the day when she replaced Amity to become Grom Queen without hesitate and she wasn't aware about facing her biggest fear. Aside of that, Amity was very stunning and beautiful with her black-pink grom dress. Under the moonlight, she and Amity holding hands each other and dancing through the Grom with their magic combination to defeated it.
"My Luz." The words from Amity made Luz heart racing when she saved Luz bravely from the mega Abomination, one of Alador's creation, that Luz should have lost from it. That's so sweet of Amity and Luz can't hide her blush after Amity saved her.
Luz was very guilty when the day she went to the "forbidden section" of Bonesborough Library only to find more clue about Phillip Whittebane because Amity lost her job as library employee, but then Amity approached her with all her new performance, loosen down short lavender hair with some brown strokes as her real hair colour. The only thing that appeared in Luz mind for the first time is Cotton Candy-Haired Goddess. Few minutes later, after apologized to Amity, Luz ears caught the sentence, "Don't worry, you always have a way of sneaking into people's hearts."
That was Amity said before she put her lips on Luz' cheeks and ran away in embarrassment. The kiss made Luz' mind had stopped working for a while and her body slowly heated, like a broken computer. Later in the Owl House, Luz still startled with her palm sticked at her left cheek and mumbled "OMG, she kissed me. She kissed me. She kissed me," until King have to shout few times to get her conscious back, then Luz can't sleep for hours after that.
Yesterday was the biggest day in her life yet it was really heavy and overwhelming day.
Luz was confused between make a plan to go home or try to ask Amity out with her best attempt of lines, after she made several cheesy lines scribbles on her note papers. Saw Luz confusion, Hooty decided to help Luz by matchmaking her with Amity, set up a whole romantic mini trip by lured Luz to the basement, discovered that Amity was there - abducted by Hooty without her conscious - and fell from a basement trapdoor into a love tunnel underground (seriously why Luz just discovered that Eda have that big, wide underground?) with Hooty as their swan love tunnel boat.
With the romantic music, amimate figures and floating cardboard with Luz cheesy lines about Amity, Luz was really embarrased and afraid that Amity will assume that Luz is cheesy, like people did back then at home, and said that she was really sorry about Hooty meddling and it was Hooty's stupid idea. But Luz doesn't realized she hurt Amity's feelings with her words because Amity thought Luz rejected Amity's feelings and she said that they're dating is probably a silly thing.
But how the tables turned, they finally can confess. After harpy Eda took King and Hooty away, Luz finally can said what does she wanted to by ask Amity out but Amity asked her first which made Luz' heart flutter more, but her courage that she gathered before would be a nothing so she talked nervously and asked awkwardly to speak. She asked Amity to take her out and Amity nodded swiftly with her fingers twirled her clothes' hem.
"So, we're girlfriends now?" Amity awkwardly asked.
"Yes!" Luz shouted out of the blue due to her nervousness, but it's good to break the awkward tension between them. There was a short silence between them, then Amity covered her mouth with her palms, giggled and laughed for her cute and dork new girlfriend. Suddenly, Luz joined Amity and laughed together delightfully or a minute, then they're holding their hands together as a sign that Luz Noceda and Amity Blight are a thing now.
"I saw all of them," Amity said, "The sentences on the cardboards in the tunnel. You made them?"
Luz blushed. Oh no, Amity recognized it. Of course every people with healthy eyes can see all those words clearly. Please, if Amity dislike it or assumed it as cringe.....
Amity grasp her hem of her clothes again and squeezed it, then she wrapped her arms around Luz, "That's so sweet and cute of you, Luz. No one ever said all of those to me before. I love it."
Luz smiled and suddenly tears fell off from her eyes. As a good girlfriend Amity worried towards Luz and tried to calm her down after she put off her arms from Luz. Luz said that she was very happy because someone liked all of her cheesy pick lines and it's her awesome girlfriend to got the first honour.
Later, Eda was flying lower and came to the new couple. The two children in front of Eda indescribably happy, with those bright eyes and wide curve of smiles, yet they blushed like a freshly ripped tomato. Eda congrated Luz to gather her courage and finally confessed to Amity.
"By the way, Amity. How did Hooty bring you here?" Asked Luz to her girlfriend.
Amity's smile curve faded and sighed, "Well, i was in my room with Ed and Em with me, then suddenly a huge mouth appeared from my window and suddenly the world was dark."
Heard Amity's words, Luz suddenly grasped Amity's hand and put her hand top of Amity's. Of course it felt different than before, Luz thought, because she accomplished one of her goals and now Amity is her girlfriend now. Amity's hand is a soft light cream compared to the brown of Luz' and when Luz twirled her fingers around Amity's, the friction was really real until Luz' heart pounding quickly. Luz wanted this. Luz want to hold hands with Amity forever like this, as simple as that and nothing else.
"Hooty! Really? You abducted Amity like that?" Asked Luz to the Owl Tube. If Hooty have arms, he would shrugs but he only smirked and said that Luz wouldn't confess and ask Amity if he didn't.
When Amity decided to go back to her home aka Blight Manor and started to loosen her hand from Luz, Luz halted her by grasped Amity's hand a little bit harder and pulled Amity closer to her face. What did i just done? Luz screaming in her mind because her nose point and Amity's were centimeters close then both of them went tomato. To covered all them up, Luz kissed Amity's right cheek quickly and said, "Goodnight, Amity. Sleep well," then she ran swiftly to the inside of the house.
Then Luz barely sleep for the whole night, head full of Amity....
Meanwhile, after Eda and King were showing off their new powers, Eda told King to check up Luz' condition. When King was checking for Luz condition, King saw Luz talked to herself and as if Amity was there in front of her face, then playing with socks, pretended that her hands are mighty snakes that fight to each other. Looking at Luz being weird, King probably knew what happened to Luz so he decided to walk down the stairs and approached Eda.
"So, King. You said that Luz is having a Common Mold?" Eda drank her favourite Apple Blood juice in her sofa, like usual when she don't have nothing to do.
"I see with my tiny eyes. She's been hallucinating that she was talking with Amity and pretending that her hands are battle snakes." said the little demon.
"No wonder Hooty said Luz body become hotter. Fine call her other friends. Maybe they can help us."

"Hey, Luz," Hooty suddenly appeared in front of Luz' face, blocked Luz vision to her tamagochi that she was playing with. Luz jolted for seconds and rubbed her runny nose, then with her slight raspy voice she asked, "Hey, Hooty. What's up?"
"Your friends come to here after Eda told them about your fever," Hooty said, then he turned his head and said, "Hey, your girlfriend also here, Luz!"
Luz jerked her head in disbelief, "Wa..wait? Like for real. Amity's here?"
"The purple hair is absolutely her. Or should I call "Cotton-Candy Haired?"
Luz' stomach went full again, like there were a lot of butterflies, her body went hot and she blushed again. Immediately, Luz picked up her pillow down from her head and raised it to throw it at Hooty's face in embarrassment. The Owl Tube doesn't affected by it and he returned Luz' pillow. After Hooty got out from Luz room, Luz put her head on the pillow and tried to go to the dream world but she felt something wrong because seemed like her body heated more, especially after her last thought (of course, it's Amity after Hooty said she came to visit).
Then Luz suddenly realized she may have a fever because she was tired after yesterday, then had a lot of thoughts all about Amity for hours, and her clothes was wet after the tunnel (Luz remembered the water was really cold). After that, Luz closed her eyes, she opened her mouth and sang slowly a song that suddenly appeared in her mind.
"Never know how much I love you
Never know how much I care
When you put your arms around me
I get a fever that's so hard to bear"
