Wanted

Summary:

Hi, I said I would write this based on the oh so lovely @amavrah 's bakudeku pirate au Tiktok to the Tangled Kingdom dance song,,, so here we are. This was actually my second attempt after my cat horrifically deleted my last attempt... so I hope you enjoy <3

Bakugo Katsuki was a wanted pirate among several kingdoms. That didn't stop him from going to said kingdoms, it just meant he had to be more careful about how much time he spent places. Right now, his crew had pestered him into going to some festival at the kingdom their ship was docked at, however, when he catches sight of a head of curly green hair, his attention peaks.

Alternatively, Izuku Midoriya is a prince. Constantly followed around by his guard, Tenya Iida, and while he understands why he has such a close eye on him, he can't help but to be annoyed. However, tonight's festival will prove to be quite the experience for the young prince when a certain head of spiky blonde hair and wild red eyes catches his attention.

Notes:

Please note: There is no set POV for this, it'll go back and forth on both Izuku and Katsuki's thoughts. I don't use First Person POV often so yeah.
Also, all characters belong to Horikoshi and the general idea for this chapter and the inspiration for this was based off of @amavrah 's TikTok, so please show them and their amazing art justice, I hope I did that video justice <3

Chapter 1: The Festival

Chapter Text

Katsuki wasn't quite sure how his crew of morons convinced him to be there. Could it have been the constant asking for the past three weeks, it was probable, but that still didn't fully explain how they got him to be there. It could have perhaps been the head of green hair that he kept seeing popping up around the ports his ship was docked at. He'd always thought that the stranger just seemed so out of place amongst the merchants and sailors yelling and grunting. Maybe that was what intrigued the pirate so much.
Whatever the cause was, Katsuki was there, standing beside some merchant booth as he carefully watched to make sure that his crew was within sight. He trusted them, he always had, it was simply more of a comfort thing to keep an eye out for them. Needless to say, he wasn't expecting that same familiar head of green hair from before to pop up in front of him. He looked down at the figure, emerald green eyes staring up at him.
"Dance with me pirate stranger," he smiled at him, holding out the delicate hand. Katsuki stared at him for a moment. "What, you can't dance," Izuku asked, smirking at the taller man. Katsuki scoffed and grabbed his hand, pulling him along.
"You must be mistaken, who said I can't dance," he smirked back, pulling him along to the lively music playing from the band. He saw the grin grow on the other's face. "Whether you can keep up is the real mystery," he smirked. He danced along with the other, swaying and twisting to the beat. Katsuki almost felt carefree in that moment.
Here he was, dancing with a complete stranger, a clearly high-class stranger based on his attire and generally the feel of the other's soft hands in his own, but he felt like time had slowed for none other than the two of them.
Izuku was very much so in the same boat, figuratively at least. He had seen the other off to the side of the celebration. He was quite delighted when the other took his hand. He'd seen the taller man occasionally in his escapes to the docks, but he knew nothing about him other than the fact that he was a pirate. But the dancing was fun, Izuku couldn't really remember the last time he had that much fun at one of these events. He was glad that Ochako had pulled Tenya away at the earliest sight of him at the festival, because otherwise he wouldn't have been able to approach the other.
The music dallied on, Katsuki and Izuku dancing to their hearts content, Katsuki's hands rarely leaving the other's waist, and when they did they found their way back to Izuku's hands. Everything was perfect, a soft grin on the blonde's face as he listened to the other laugh.
The moment was sourly interrupted, the sharp call of "Guards" throwing both of the boys off their rhythm. Katsuki pursed his lips together and leaned in closer to Izuku's ear.
"That's my cue to leave, sorry love," he said softly, lifting his hand towards his face and pressing a kiss to the back of his hand. "I am a wanted criminal after all," he hummed lowly. He pulled away from the other and turned to look to an exit, already seeing the rest of his crew standing and waiting for him. He turned back to Izuku before shooting him a wink and running off towards the exit.
Izuku watched as the blonde and his four companions made a rather quick escape, being out of sight by the time the guards had actually stood at attention, looking for whoever it was they had been called to find.
He couldn't help the sigh that left him when he realized that, even if he had gotten the other's name, there'd be no point in trying to find him. If anything, Izuku could only end up getting the blonde and his companions in more trouble. Unless, he used his position as an advantage. Perhaps some discussion and research with the King could bring the blonde and his friend's back to land without them having to worry as much.
That was something only time could tell.
