Chapter 1: Routine and Visitors

Chapter Text

A few weeks have passed since the official pardon of the pirate crew, and in those few weeks the group of five had spent quite a bit of time within the castle, in meetings with Izuku and other officials of the kingdom to further discuss the process of beginning the support system for the more underprivileged citizens of the kingdom.
Katsuki was always slightly surprised to see Izuku in a more serious environment, it was clear the boy prince took his position and responsibilities very seriously. It made sense though, considering shortly after his 18th birthday comes around, he’s to be crowned as King.
Quite a bit has changed in these few weeks, the crew docked their ship and moved out of the living quarters, instead moving into a two story townhouse in the village. Each of them had their own room, along with a basement where they had made a makeshift meeting room for just the five of them.
Even with having their own home, they spent quite a lot of time in the castle as guests. The crew had grown closer to Izuku’s other friends as well, which is expected with spending so much time with them. Along with getting closer, well, Katsuki wouldn’t admit it, but he was doing a pretty good job at keeping his lips sealed about a certain someone’s crush on a red and white haired boy.
It was almost too obvious, which was fine by the rest of the crew, the payback for his endless teasing was long overdue. Even if the Ravenette claimed that it was uncalled for.
Actually meeting everyone was interesting. Being properly introduced to Shoto, Ochako, and Tenya, along with meeting the king and queen (or just catching up with the queen in katsuki’s case). Izuku had also taken the time to introduce the group to Hitoshi and Captain Aizawa down in the town square, and Katsuki definitely was not jealous when the Prince hugged the purple haired guard so casually. Not at all.
Kaminari on the other hand, talked about the guard for hours that day, not consecutively, he just kept bringing him up. By the time dinner was over, everyone was gladly retreating to their own rooms to escape the blondes ecstatic ramblings. (Mina definitely teased him about only liking people with purple hair, which he didn’t deny).
Despite everything, the beginning of the support systems foundations, talk of Izuku’s coronation and rise to being king, groups merging, bonds being created, Katsuki couldn’t help but feel most at home when he managed to be alone with the green haired boy, or when Inko would barge into meetings with a soft smile and a plate of homemade cookies, which Izuku claims she only recently started making again.
They all gladly accept the cookies of course, they’re delicious, how could they not? Homemade sugar and snickerdoodle cookies spread out over the plate, usually followed after by a maid bringing either tea or freshly squeezed lemonade to go with them.
They had decided on calling the support system the Merry Men, taking a piece from the story that linked Izuku into pardoning them. Everything seemed to be going well with the planning and supplying, the royal family of course contributing quite a lot to the cause, both with the Merry Men cause and just in general.
Today, Katsuki wasn’t expecting was to walk into the castle with the rest for a meeting and see Izuku being swept away by Inko and a familiar head of blonde hair before they could even say anything. Judging by the guard and attendee's faces who he had been standing by, they were just as shocked. Then the accompanying brunette walked by the group, holding a bag of supplies before pausing and turning back to face Katsuki.
“Ah hello Son, it’s been a while,” Masaru greeted, setting the bag down and opening his arms for a hug. “Yeah, it had been, what are you guys doing here,” Katsuki asked, accepting it as the brunette wrapped his arms around his son in a hug.
“Inko asked if your Mother would be up to some outfit making, I’m sure for the coronation and Izuku’s birthday coming up,” the brunette hummed, picking up the bag once more and gesturing for Katsuki to follow. Katsuki noticed Ochako and Shoto walking over to the others and nodded to them before following his dad down the hallway of the castle.
Masaru knocked on the door twice before turning the door knob. “I brought company,” the man hummed, walking in with Katsuki following behind him quietly. “Oh! Hi Kacchan! Sorry, I have to postpone our meeting for today,” the greenette laughed awkwardly from where he stood, arms out as Mitsuki circled him with a tape measure.
“Katsuki, my boy,” Mitsuki grinned, stepping away from the prince to walk over to her son, cupping his face in her hands roughly as she pressed a quick kiss to his forehead. “You’ve grown, you look different. A good different, but still, would it kill ya to pay your folks a visit every now and then,” the blonde woman said sarcastically, her hands on her hips dramatically.
“Sorry Hag, I’ve been busy,” he grumbled, rubbing his cheeks from where she had grabbed him. She waved him off with her hand before turning back to Izuku. “Excuses excuses,” she teased, gesturing for Izuku to hold his arms up once more as she started her measurements once more.
“It really has been a long time, hasn’t it Auntie Mitsuki,” the prince laughed. “Oh it’s been even longer since I’ve seen either of you, it’s only been about 2 years since I’ve seen Katsuki, it’s been much longer since I’ve seen you,” she said, pinching his cheek with a smile. The prince laughed and rubbed his cheek when she finished.
Inko and Mitsuki filled the silence with their conversation while she finished up the measurements. She stood back from Izuku when she finished and looked at the notepad Masaru was holding with the measurements written. “You’re all finished Zuku, unless you want to pick the fabric,” the blonde said, wrapping up her tape measure and looking at him. “Ah,no thank you, I trust my mom and you more for that decision,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck.
Mitsuki sent him a thumbs up and turned back to Inko. “We’re gonna go now, should probably get our meeting started,” Izuku said, gaining nods from both of the women. Masaru walked over and ruffled both of their hair. “See you both around,” he smiled softly, Izuku nodding happily.
And with that, the two made their way out of the room and down the hallway to the meeting room, where Izuku hoped nobody was upset about the delay (He has no reason to worry, he just overthinks). “I didn’t know that Auntie and Uncle were coming to visit,” he hummed, a little bit of a hop in his step.
“Neither did I, kinda glad we got my name cleared before they showed up,” Katsuki sighed, walking alongside the Prince. “Mhm, that and after you guys got settled into a routine, well, for the most part I hope,” the Prince laughed.
“It's been more of a routine than I’ve had in a long time.” the blonde hummed, looking at the other as they walked. The next chapter of their lives has begun now, and only time would tell where this chapter would take the two of them.
