When Loki woke up, he was basked in a feeling of contentment that became more and more familiar as the days went by.
After all that had happened, all the upheaval in his life, it had taken him a long time to find a sense of peace. There was always something that needed to be done. Until the TVA was restructured and functional again, he and Mobius had been more than busy.
But today, they were enjoying one of their rare days off, and it just made Loki want to snuggle up tighter under the warm, comfortable comforter.
But there was one warmth he liked even more than the comforter.
Loki slid to the other side of the bed but found only a cold, empty space. He opened his eyes to confirm that Mobius was not there. Only the crumpled sheet testified that he had been there.
Loki lay there a little longer, letting sleep gently slip away from him, his head buried in Mobius' pillow.
A little later, he left their room and smiled as he approached the kitchen, all his senses honed in the sweetest of ways.
The smell of toasting bread and coffee, the sound of Mobius' voice humming, and finally the sight of his lover moving around the kitchen in a domestic choreography to prepare breakfast.
Loki slowly approached him. Mobius had his back to him and had not heard him.
With a fluid gesture, Loki embraced him from behind, pressing himself against him so that he could rest his chin on Mobius' shoulder.
Mobius laughed softly, his lack of surprise showing how familiar this kind of gesture was. He leaned against Loki's chest.
The natural and spontaneous affectionate gestures between them were things that still amazed Loki, surprised that someone might not fear and even more, might enjoy Loki touching him.
"Morning my sweet sleepy boy!" Mobius turned his head to Loki's on his shoulder, reaching his lips to his, begging for a morning kiss which Loki eagerly gave him. Then he asked against Loki's lips, " Did you sleep well?"
Loki gave him another soft kiss before answering with a fake pout, "Yeah, but my wake up call was a little sad. You got up too early, love..."
He kissed Mobius on the neck in punishment, making his lover laugh, before leaning against the kitchen counter and watching him finish preparing breakfast. At one point Mobius grabbed one of the steaming cups of coffee, which said, "Mobius' grumpy cat" and placed it in Loki's hands saying, "Finish waking you up with this." he winked and added, "I have something planned today."
Loki, a little surprised, took a sip of coffee and realized that Mobius was no longer preparing breakfast but small sandwiches that he packed as he went along and placed in a sort of basket next to him.
Loki asked Mobius, not resisting curiosity, "Are you finally going to tell me what we are going to do today?"
Mobius leaned closer, took a sip from Loki's cup and replied mischievously, "If you're going to get ready, you'll know sooner."
Loki put down his cup and gave Mobius a long kiss then said as he left for the bedroom, "coffee is much better this way anyway."
He slipped away with a wink under Mobius' amused gaze.

"Where are you taking me?" Loki asked, as Mobius pulled him toward the time door he had just made appear.
"You'll know when we get there."
Loki walked through the door and was delighted to find himself in the familiar surroundings of the planet Frigga-77.
The small paradise planet had become the place of their impromptu dates, a bit of their own place. It was uninhabited so there was no risk for them to disturb a timeline.
"You brought me here for a picnic?" exclaimed Loki, happy.
Mobius guided Loki to their usual spot, where he spread a blanket and set a picnic basket down, then sat down, motioning for Loki to sit as well.
Loki complied, and Mobius opened the picnic basket and took out what he had prepared.
"What did you do that for?"
"Just like that, to spend some time elsewhere. And seeing your reaction, I guess you're pleased?" asked Mobius, raising an eyebrow.
Loki showed him how pleased he was with a kiss that was worth all the talk.
Mobius arranged the small sandwiches on two plates and handed one to Loki.
They ate their meal shoulder to shoulder, talking about everything and anything, stopping occasionally when a brightly colored bird caught their eye and then resuming their discussion.
Once their meal was over, as Loki moved the blanket and settled against a tree, Mobius put everything away in the basket, then sat between Loki's legs, his back against Loki's, who wrapped his arms around him and kissed him gently on the neck before leaning against the tree he was sitting against.
Loki had long thought and believed that he would never know peace or even happiness, not like this. And yet, here he was, living moments as simple as precious as a picnic with the man who had made it all possible at his side.
