“How many times exactly is he going to say it’s the last?!”
Yoongi’s laugh always started from the shake of his shoulder. This time too. He sat leaning on the headboard of his bed in their old bedroom—currently only his bedroom. He had his pillow propping his back and his blanket wrapped his waist down in comfort.
There were some reasons why Seokjin was in Yoongi’s room instead of his own.
First of all, Seokjin didn’t have a huge TV screen in front of his bed, like Yoongi did. It wasn't a necessity for him. He usually watched dramas or movies on his tablet. Sure, he had a computer that he usually used to play games, and he could watch the vlive from there, but that meant he had to sit on a chair, which was something he profusely refused to do in a state where he’s so tired and sleepy like tonight. Watching the vlive alone on his own bed using tablet or phone would just end up with him falling asleep under ten minutes.
Second, they were the only two who were in the dorm, and both of them knew that each other were going to wait for Jungkook’s birthday. Why spend it awkwardly in their own bedroom?
Third reason which Yoongi definitely brushed off as a nonsense, was Seokjin coming into his bedroom, saying ‘Yoongichi, i miss spending the night with you in our old bedroom~’ and already making himself comfortable on the bed. Without the need to be welcomed.
“That kid is always like that. That’s why I told you to just post it, he'll see later when he's done.” True to his words between his laughs, Yoongi already sent a tweet to congratulate the birthday of their golden youngest. Damn, it's been ten years already? It felt just like yesterday when Jungkook was still shorter than him and fell asleep on his shoulder a lot.
“It’s not that! I can just smack him if he doesn't notice my post, I just don't want to distract armys who’re still enjoying his concert.” For the hundredth time of the night, Seokjin unlocked his phone, saw how his message was ready to send, complete with a picture of him and Jungkook attached. “Jungkook-ah, hyung is sleepy!!”
The older’s outburst of annoyance only made Yoongi laugh even harder, shoulders shaking. Yoongi also had his phone on hand. A note app was open and he wrote down every of their songs that Jungkook sang, or basically requested. It's just interesting to listen later to find out those were some of the songs that their fans wanted to hear. Heartbeat? If it wasn't for Seokjin’s beautiful adlib around the end of the song, Yoongi probably wouldn’t even remember that song at all. The song was very short-lived because it was a game soundtrack. They literally only listened the guide - practiced their parts - recorded - that’s all, and then they went about their other schedules. Also, the schedule for shooting and recording that game was scattered every here and then. It was easy for the game to slip from their mind.
“Just send it and go to sleep, Hyung, our fans are really amazing at multitasking, your post won’t distract them. You’ve been saying you’re sleepy since... what? An hour ago?”
“That’s because Jungkookie has been saying that it’s going to be the last song since an hour ago!” He whined and kicked his feet around their blanket—it’s actually Yoongi’s, but since they’re using it together right now, then it’s theirs. Seokjin took a glance at Yoongi’s phone, he knew the younger was taking note of the list, they’ve talked about that earlier. His thin finger pointed at the phone screen. “Look at that! The song list is exceeding our concert’s setlist!”
Yoongi knew it was invalid, since Jungkook mostly only sang the beginning and the chorus of some of them, then proceeded to stop and continue to the next song. Seokjin also knew. But it’s still a relieving argument for Seokjin, and a funny one for Yoongi that his shoulder was shaking again and his gummy smile was on full display.
“Jungkook-ah, hyung’s hair is all dry now, it was drenching wet earlier!” Seokjin complained to the big screen in front of them showing their youngest continuing to sing another song. Yoongi only snickered as he jotted down the song Jungkook was singing.
Again, the song stopped mid-way and Jungkook on the screen was staring around the camera area, reading the comment.
“YAAAH!!” Yoongi would’ve jumped from his place if that shriek of Seokjin was unforeseen. He knew that would happen the moment Jungkook said ‘okay, this is really, really the last song, the really last, what should i sing next?’ to the viewers—his two oldest hyungs included. “Hyung is very sleepy, Jungkook-ah!!”
Yoongi held his stomach. It hurt from laughing too much at Seokjin’s antics the whole night. “Your behavior said the opposite though? You look very enthusiastic, Hyung.”
“Yah! This is also an effort to prevent myself from falling asleep, you rascal!” Seokjin looked funny throwing tantrums and snapping his head right and left while the man was actually laying down. Speaking of low effort anger.
The answer and the view only made Yoongi laugh even harder. If he wasn’t too busy laughing with his eyes almost always closed, he could probably catch Seokjin smiling for a moment. Mirth dancing on his face. It’s always satisfying to be able to make other people laugh. Especially when it’s Min Yoongi, the man who didn’t like to let out his feelings a lot in the open.
When Yoongi’s laugh died down, Seokjin already had his blank slash annoyed face on, and his attention was already back to Jungkook on the screen. The golden youngest was again asking what song to sing, promising it’d be the last song.
“That’s it.” His tone this time was more like a surrender instead of annoyance like before. Seokjin opened his phone. “I’m just gonna post it now and go to sleep. I’m damn sleepy.” His annoyance might be exaggerated, but he never lied about the thing with him being sleepy.
He’s just not used to staying up late anymore, especially when there’s no schedule. If there’s a late schedule then he would usually prepare himself by taking a long nap in the noon before, and or stocking up on caffeine, also last but not least keep doing light workout throughout the day. He didn’t do any of that today. His whole body has been screaming for sleep, he was sure he could immediately sleep the moment he closed his eyes.
“Done.”
Yoongi snickered again at how in a haste Seokjin was. The way he sent the post, switched to another app to reply to some messages, locked his phone, and even the tone of his voice. “Alright, go back to your room and sleep, Hyung.”
It was weird.
Jungkook was definitely still singing on the screen, but it felt like there was a silence when both of the oldest members didn’t say anything. They were staring at each other with obvious ‘what?’ glances.
When nobody said anything after a while, Seokjin decided to break it. “I’m going to sleep here,” he said with the tone of saying that water is wet and fire is hot.
There was another silence as Yoongi waited for the older to cancel his joke, or at least correct his wording to mean something else.
There was none.
“Don’t be ridiculous, Hyung. Just quickly go back to your own room.”
“It’s not like we had not shared a room for years before?”
“Yeah, but we always had our own beds.”
“But I don’t move around in my sleep, and you also don't. There will not be much difference.”
Yoongi rubbed his face with his free hand. “Just go back to your room and sleep, hyung. Stop joking around.”
Even without his red ears, Seokjin has the most obvious lying face. Right now, his face was the complete opposite. Big bright eyes staring right at him, slightly dimmed due to fatigue. Bread cheeks slightly puffed since his plump lips were a little bit pulled to the side as he was assessing the circumstance.
“I’m serious though? I'm too tired to go back to my room, I can immediately sleep if I close my eyes now. What are you going to do? Drag me to my room?”
The younger almost snapped back pointing out about how Seokjin said too tired to go back to his room like their rooms were a district apart, but he noticed Seokjin wasn’t joking. Now that he already sent the post to Jungkook, his body seemed to know there was no reason to stay awake anymore. His words were getting slurred and he blinked slowly. Cute.
Did Yoongi just think to himself that Seokjin was cute? Nope.
Yoongi sighed and he slowly took in his surroundings. He was going to switch off the TV screen since he believed he already missed some songs Jungkook sang just now anyway, but apparently the live was also ending. “Look at that, he’s ending the live right after hyung sent the post.” Yoongi breathed a short snort at the funny coincidence.
Seokjin was almost asleep. He blinked tiredly and glanced at the screen where their youngest was waving at the camera. “Brat,” he slurred sleepily right before the TV was turned off, and then he closed his eyes.
The dip on the bed could be felt and Seokjin noticed the younger raised from his place. Heavily, he opened his eyes again. “Where're you go? You arn't sleep in livingrum, rite?”
If Yoongi didn’t know Seokjin better, and if he didn’t spend the last few hours constantly listening to the older complained about how sleepy he was, Yoongi would think Seokjin was drunk. “I’m turning off the light. Do you want to sleep with the light on, hyung?”
The way Seokjin snorted sleepily and closed his eyes again was so lovely. Noticing Yoongi’s acceptance, he settled himself more comfortably on the younger’s bed. He slid his phone farther to the edge of the bed, pulled the blanket up to his chest, and folded his arms in front of his chest. All with his eyes already closed.
As he noticed Seokjin already comfortable, Yoongi turned off the light and went back to his side of the bed. It’s funny how Seokjin almost always slept on his back like a prince, while Yoongi slept on his side with his whole body curled like a shrimp. Contrast opposite.
Yoongi pulled his blanket up until his shoulders. He laid down facing the older because he usually slept on his right side anyway. It also seemed more appropriate than turning his back on Seokjin. If they woke up with Yoongi linking his arms around Seokjin’s, well he believed that’d be the older’s fault for invading his bed.
“Good night, Hyung,” he whispered ever so slowly.
He wasn’t sure if Seokjin was still awake or not. Yoongi definitely didn’t want to wake him up if Seokjin was already asleep.
There was a soft hum. “Mmhm, nite, Yoongi-yah.”
