The Tree is the upholder of Capitalism

Chapter 1: The First

Chapter Text

Karl Marx's POV:

I dreaded going into work everyday. Not because I hated my job, I just hated my colleagues. Actually, just one specific colleague, because I was great friends with Wilbur, Dami, Matthew Grey, even that little ladybug that sometimes flies in and I catch in a little matchbox. It was just one person that I couldn't stand.

That person was Will Wood.

I think the main problem about being the person who wrote the communist manifesto is that many people disagree with you, and instead of tolerating other peoples' opinions, they decide to be a dick about it. Which is exactly what Will does.

Ever since I started my job at Mitski Inc., Will would constantly argue with me about politics, as he was a very radical Anarcho-Capitalist. I personally don't completely dislike capitalism, as it does have a couple logical points (but obviously I would very much prefer a Communist world), but it seemed like Will just hated Communists in general. Every single time I walked into my office, Will Wood was waiting outside the door and said some stupid comment like "The Reds killed billions, tankie." before walking off to play the piano or some shit like that.

If I'm gonna be honest, I had never actually listened to any of Will's music. I hadn't even ever heard of him before coming to work for Mitski Inc., but this wasn't where I had first met him.

I had first met him while posing as blind so I could pickpocket strangers in the deep city streets, I think back in the Summer of 2012. But I don't think he even saw me as my face was quite obscured.

Anyways, I did actually want to try and listen to his music for once, so I could ridicule him on how bad it was. I mean, It's 𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘞𝘰𝘰𝘥 for Lenin's sake. He couldn't be capable of anything even remotely good in his life, even if he lived to 420 years old.

But I couldn't just tell him to play a song for me, that would be really weird, considering the fact that he is my mortal enemy, so I could only listen to his music in secret. And that's when the idea popped into my head.

I would sneak into one of his concerts.

Sure, I could have just stayed at home and searched him up on spotify, but there was no fun in that. And, I hated to admit it, I sort of wanted to see him in person outside of work. I wanted to hang out with him properly and spend time together. I wanted to talk to him without getting into an argument about politics.

But that was a small, tiny, stupid part of me. So the most logical thing to do was to push it to the back of my brain and hope it wouldn't ever reappear.

I absolutely hate Will Wood.
