Work Text:
It was raining on a Saturday in Paris. The weather was warm with a slight breeze as light drops of rain sounded against the ground. Taehyung shook the droplets out of his fluffy hair as he walked down the sidewalk with a small smile on his face. Days like this were his favorite type of days. Walking around the beautiful city as light rain hit against the top of his umbrella and each step he took was met with a small splash.
Today, he woke up early and was out the door the second he threw on some slacks and a long brown coat that would keep him plenty warm for the day. He had plans of making his way to the little art gallery that just opened up across the city, and Taehyung was already on his way before the place even opened.
He all but skipped down the sidewalk, holding his umbrella that was peppered with pink hearts. The city was full of people walking with their own umbrellas, holding hands and smiles on their faces as well. Paris was always like this. Was always so full of love, and Taehyung was drunk on it. Was in love with the city of love itself.
It took a little while to find the little art gallery, but once he finally did, he quickly bounced around in happiness. He hadn’t been to an art gallery in a few months, and he missed it so unbelievably much. Taehyung’s passion was art, burned deep inside of him with passion bubbling all the way up. When he wasn’t touring the city with one of his many cameras hanging around his neck, he was in his little studio in his apartment with a paintbrush in hand and a few colors smeared across his cheek.
Taehyung was an artist in himself.
Maybe that was why he felt a strange connection to the little gallery almost the same moment he walked in. Taehyung’s eyes widened, as he looked at all the pretty paintings that hung on the walls with awe. It was almost as if every painting told their own story, completely captivating Taehyung and stealing his heart one by one. The floor was a shiny quartz, and the walls a beige color that left Taehyung’s stomach feeling warm. A beautiful chandelier hanging down from the high ceiling that left him dizzy as his eyes gaped upwards. Yeah, this gallery was Taehyung’s new favorite, and he had only been here a few minutes.
His feet took him to the next room, but his heart was still at the entrance. Pretty monochromatic paintings that were framed in gold scattered across the walls with quiet music playing in the background. He had never felt so soothed. It was at that very moment that Taehyung had decided that he made a good choice in coming here today.
It was only when he had turned around and spotted an even prettier masterpiece, that he had decided it was even better than good... Taehyung had made the best decision.
The man was tall, similar to his height, with a beige sweater that matched the gallery’s walls. Brown, wide legged pants hung off of the man’s wide hips paired with thick glasses that rimmed around the man’s pretty dragon-shaped eyes that were settled onto a painting that hung on the wall.
Taehyung’s breath was caught in his throat, but his feet were already ahead of him.
“That’s a pretty painting, huh?”
The man turned at the new voice, and Taehyung got an eye full of dimples. But what really had him reeling were the eyes that were piercing straight into his. Eyes locking for what seemed like years... Yeah, he was sure he found the prettiest painting in the entire gallery, and the painting was a tall man who God definitely took his time with. “Yeah, it really is.”
Taehyung smiled and turned back toward the painting. The colors splashing against the frame and― Yeah. Taehyung was too distracted now. “Do you mind if I walk with you?”
The man’s eyes widened, but a moment later he was smiling again. “Of course not, I could use a little company. I’m Namjoon by the way.” He was a lost cause.
“I’m Taehyung.”
