Work Text:

Part 1: Welp you got me
Nico had it easy he could always visit his boyfriend with a quick shadow travel then he had an excuse on why he couldn’t leave until he was ‘rested’, not that his boyfriend really minded his random visits. In fact, seeing Stiles bright smile every time Nico was waiting for him in his room was one of the reasons the boy kept just showing up whenever he had time to spare. Or was avoiding the other heroes and groupies.

Stiles was one of those people who were overly affectionate and loved physical connect. Most of the time when Stiles first saw Nico, he pulled him into a hug, a kiss, or even flopped down on his lap. When things got more heated Stiles, who perhaps had been around werewolves too long, would leave lingering hickeys on his boyfriend’s neck.

This might have what led to Nico being caught and called out by his friends. Stiles had left a particularly lingering hickey right under his jaw. One that stung ever so slightly when he pressed his fingers into it, but even with the slight pain Nico didn’t regret it after all his boyfriends bright and proud smile vanished any thoughts of annoyance.

Leo was the first one who notice and with a wolf whistle, “Our little Nico has grown up,” the younger hero threw his arms around Jason and Percy who were seated beside him pulling them close. Jason gave Nico a soft almost smile while Percy was grinning almost wildly.

Hoping to put of their questions Nico rolled his eyes but rubbed the mark subconsciously. The strung causing him to envision Stile’s grin and still Nico couldn’t conjure up any regret.

Hazel grinned pulling him into a hug, “Are you dating again?”

Nico couldn’t roll his eyes at his sister, so he did his best to give her a small smile even if he was inwardly screaming. He wanted to keep Stiles to himself the gods didn’t need to interfere with his already stresses boyfriends’ life. Nor did he need the seven showing up in Beacon Hills and threating Stiles. While he knew his boyfriend could pretty much defend himself at this point it was always 50/50 on how Stiles would act. He would either think it is funny or go all void on their asses. Nico didn’t know which he would prefer honestly.

Afterall, he liked that his boyfriend had a touch of darkness because he was in a particular position to understand Nico, but at the same time Stiles was mostly human compared to the more powerful and war hardened demigods.

Surprisingly it was Piper that squealed, “You are, aren’t you?”

Nico rolled his eye again hoping to deter them once more, but instead it seemed to encourage Percy to grin even wider. “What is he like?”

Nico felt a little bit of blush creep its way up his throat and Percy practically cooed. Embarrassment grew in Nico’s stomach at the sound, and he moved to stand. Hazel sensing his moment gently grabbed his wrist, “Please? We just want to make sure this isn’t another Will situation.”

Nico got it he did. The thing with Will sucked and it might have left Nico reeling for a while and sadly a little too publicly for his taste. Will had been great until he got more irritated at Nico more than he did fond. Nico got banged up, he got cranky, and he got quiet when things got to be too much, but Will just didn’t seem to be able to handle that after a while. He had publicly screamed at Nico when Nico shutdown after a random automaton attack.

Nico still had Bianca smile flashing across his eyes when Will started his rant. Nico thankfully didn’t honestly hear much, but everyone else did and honestly that hurt. Nico loved camp he did, it was his home, but he didn’t need that kind of embarrassment.
Nico had to break from his thoughts to answer his friends, “He is different from anyone I have ever meet.” His voice was quiet, and his eyes were on the ground. Hazel gently squeezed his hand.

Annabeth gave him a smile that spoke of the love she had for him, “Different how?”

Nico felt a small smile pull onto his lips as a hundred skeletal butterflies were resurrecting in his stomach., “Stiles is a contradiction; he is clever, but reckless. He is kind to others, but untrusting to those who he doesn’t know.”

Percy gave him a ruthful smile, “Stiles hu?”

Annabeth shot him a teasing look, “I don’t think there is a Stiles at camp?’

Frank nodded, “No Stiles at Jupiter either.”

Nico felt his throat tighten as they all looked at him with teasing expecting eyes. He cleared his throat giving them each a hard look, which they all ignored, “I never said he was a demigod.”

Leo grinned, a wild and uncontrollable thing, “Dating apps?”

Nico almost snorted, but only smiled a bare thread smile, “We ran into each other when I accidently shadow traveled into some woods in California.”

Percy had a lovestruck looked on his face, “How romantic…”

Nico didn’t have the heart to tell him that Stiles was out their shooting some nasty creature with a shotgun and had almost shot Nico while he was at it. Instead, he kind of just lightly rolled his eyes and drily said, “Sure.”

Annabeth had questions in her eyes and Nico knew he wasn’t getting out this now. He should have just ignored them and escaped while he still could. Now he would have to spill the beans. “So, what does he do?” she asks softly.

It was almost worse that way because now he felt like he had to tell her. It was a good think he was in a good mood. He also like to maybe gloat about his boyfriend a little bit. He gritted his teeth slightly nonetheless to keep them from knowing that maybe he enjoyed this a little bit, “He owns a bookstore.”

Percy elbowed him slightly, “So he’s smart like my wise girl hu?”

“Sure,” Nico replied as dryly as he could. A faint smile did arch on his features as he thought about the kind of books Stiles sold. Stiles owned a supernatural shop where he was considered the go to person whenever you had a supernatural problem as well as to buy random text. Hades he even did spells and tattoos for the right type people.

Hazel was glad her brother was happy, and she could see that within his body langue that as much as he was acting like he hates this he was glad they cared and maybe just maybe he had wanted to tell them. His eyes were lighter than they normally were, and he had less tension in his shoulders. She let go of his wrist after giving it one more squeeze and asked with a soft smile, “When can we meet him?”

Nico faltered slightly and rubbed the back of his neck, something he had picked up from said boyfriend, “He lives in California.”

Percy snorted, “And so do half of us.”

Leo had a small that spelled out trouble, “Well I just about got the Argo 3 done. It would only take me a couple of weeks then we can go see Nico’s boy.”

Nico actually snorted his time, “Whatever.”

Percy winked at his friends as Nico walked away and stage whispered, “I think he is secretly pleased.”

Nico gave him double middle fingers over his shoulders as he walked way although he was secretly pleased. He would have to go visit Stiles and gave him a little warning and maybe a little hickey to match. With a grin fully etched onto his face he let himself fade into the shadows and reemerge in his boyfriend’s bedroom a smile still firmly on his lips.

**

Just as Leo predicted a few weeks later the ship was ready to go, and the gang was pushed on as the young man ran around fire sizzling the ends of his hair.

Nico had been spending more time at camp now that everyone’s eye had been on him making sure he didn’t teleport to Stiles and ruin his “innocence” before they met the young man. Although Nico wished he could have faded into the shadows because new had gotten out that he was dating again, and Will just kept looking at Nico with these soft hurt eyes. Percy had been playing interference, but it was Percy. Nico just wanted to groan by the end of the weeks and rise an army of the dead to hide in at least they knew how to keep a secret.

It took a few more hours than Nico thought it would honestly to get to California, but when they landed at Camp Jupiter, he felt a tiny bit of excitement go through him. He had already Iris messaged Stiles that they were coming so his boyfriend had warned all the werewolves away for the time being. The gang jumped into a few vans that the camp had accrued through methods that Nico wasn’t sure he wanted to know.

It was all worth it when he saw Stiles startling smile. Nico in an uncharacteristic action rushed out of the van and pulled Stiles into a hug. Stiles whispered a quiet little hello and pressed a kiss to his forehead.

Nico had to roll his eyes at his friend’s behavior everyone, but Hazel was trying to look threatening. Said sister came over a grin on her face, “Stiles, right?”

Stiles nodded a warm smile on his face, “And you must be the lovely Hazel.”

She grinned even brighter, and Percy’s eyes narrowed. Stiles rocked back on his heels awkwardly eyeing the others. “Sooo are we just having a staring contest or what?”

Nico snorted and elbowed. Stiles jumped a step away from him dramatically, “Hey fragile human here.”

The demigods all flinched slightly and shot a look over at Nico who was rolling his eyes fondly, “Really,” Nico asked with an eyebrow raised.

Stiles had a grin that showed just a little bit of fang, “What did you expect from me you know I can’t deal with prolonged silence its why Derek avoids me.”

Annabeth took a deep breath and stepped forward a slight smile on her lips, “So Nico told you about us?”

Stiles waved a hand through the air, “The supernatural, the gods, and all that jazz is old news. Really just huge pains in the ass that make life more complicated.”

Leo while playing with something in his pocket, “So I got to know is Stiles your real name?”

Stiles gave them a fox like grin, “No one in their right mind would name their child Stiles, but names have power and mine is also very Polish, so Stiles is the best name you’re going to get.”

Percy gave him a little side smile, “I think I might just like you.”

Nico rolled his eyes and dryly said, “Oh joy.”, but secretly he was pleased.

Part 2: He’s not a vampire, right?
The pack liked to think they knew Stiles well; he was clever, funny, and loyal, but kind of obvious. So, when he started shyly smiling at his phone and being busier than usual, they kind figured something was up. Maybe he had finally got his shit together and asked Derek out or maybe he was on a research binge or who knows maybe he had another plan on how to woe Lydia.

Stiles knew how to keep a secret through and when he started telling them he was busy and driving out of town the pack got worried. Could he be not himself again?

So, Scott called a pack meeting and made it sound like it was an emergency. Stiles fearing the worse rushed to join just as Lydia predicted.

She gave me a harsh look and stated, “You’re hiding something.”

Stiles pulled back, “Is this what this pack meeting is about?”

“You can’t keep hiding stuff from us buddy?” Scott said softly with wide puppy eyes.

Stiles looked over the pack and felt a bit of heat fill his stomach, “You see how this is inappropriate right? I am an adult with a life outside of the pack and can have a private life.”

“We were just worried about you,” Lydia countered.

Stiles shook his head, “No if you were worried about me, you could have texted me and asked to grab a coffee and talk to me as a friend,” he gestured to the pack meeting, “This is because you don’t trust me and clearly don’t resect me.”

“Stiles,” Scott said softly.

“No, I’m tired of this Scott. This has to stop.” Stiles said a hard look in his eyes. “When you want to talk to me like an adult text me, but until then you can handle whatever pack problems come up.” Stiles shook his head one last time before spinning on his heel and leaving.

Liam look at the older members with a judgment look in his eyes, “He’s right you know? If it was me or Malia, you wouldn’t have batted an eye.”

“But Stiles could be being controlled!” Scott exclaimed.

Malia shook her head, “That was a long time ago you need to get over it.” She then stood with a huff and flashed her eyes.

Even Theo nodded, “Yeah you guys are just being dicks.” Before grabbing his coat and leaving.

Lydia and Scott shared a look shocked at the words of their pack.

Stiles spend most of his time either with Nico or in the shop. His relationship with Nico continued to grow stronger and he was truly happy. One day while Nico was hanging around the shop Stiles turned to him with a slight smile, “Would you like to meet one of my friends?”

Nico shrugged, “Sure.”

Stiles nodded a smile growing stronger across his features. He sent out a text to one of his best friends and grinned when she replied. He and Nico headed to the diner a couple of miles away.

Malia was sitting in their normal booth with a sharp tooth grin when the couple came in. Stiles took the inside of the booth knowing his boyfriend would feel better with an easy escape. Stiles waved over to the wild girl, “This is Malia. Malia this is Nico.”

Malia gave Nico a wild smile. Nico gave her one back and Malia shoot Stiles an approving look.

Food was ordered and Malia nodded, “I like you.”

Nico shot Stiles a look, “Why?”

“Stiles has been calmer since you have come into his life.” She said after a moment of silence.

Stiles smiled brightly at his onetime girlfriend, “Thank you.”

The rest of the lunch went quietly with light conversation. Nico liked that Malia accepted that she was wild while also human. Stiles had bright eyes and that always made Nico happy.

A few weeks later while Nico was hanging out in the shop again when Scott slipped through the door with a dog hung look on his face, “Hey is Stiles here.”

Nico not even looking up from his book pointed a thumb towards the back. Scott gave him a faint smile, “Thanks,” Before heading back.

Stiles looked up slightly surprised to see the wolf in front of him, “Oh hey Scott. What are you doing here?”

Scott with the softest saddest eyes, “I’m sorry man. You were right and I own that. I felt like you were moving on from us and I should have trust you. I just came here to tell you I’m sorry I don’t expect you to forgive me, but I want to start to repair our relationship.”

Stiles nodded, “Thank you I accept your apology.”

Scott nodded head still slightly hung, “Well I guess I’ll get out of your hair if you want to get together sometimes you can text me,” Scott paused and hurried to add, but only when you ready.”

Stiles sighed watching his best friend turn to walk out of the store a faint smile on his face, “Wait a minute man.”

Scott stopped a hopeful expression on his face and Stiles internally rolled his eyes. Scott was too much like a puppy sometimes. “If you want you can meet my boyfriend.”

“Really?” Scott asked softly, but with excitement in his voice.

Stiles did roll his eyes this time, “That’s what I said didn’t I?” He then stood with a stretch.

Nico had been listening to the conversation the whole time and had a slight smile on his lips. Stiles came up to him and wrap an arm around his shoulder before pressing a kiss to his temple. “This is Nico.”

Nico lightly snuggled into his boyfriends hold before giving a nod to Scott.

Scott had a bright smile on his lips and teasingly asked Stiles with only a bit of concern in his eyes, “He’s not a vampire, right?”

Plus 1

While the demigods were visiting Stiles and the gang went for a walk in the woods. The trail was right by the road when a police siren as put on pulling up beside them.

Percy put his hands up, “We didn’t do it.”

Stiles just sighed watching as his dad got out of the car, “Hi dad.”

The sheriff smiled eyeing the young adults, “Keep out of trouble son.” Before getting back in his car with a troublemaker grin remnant of Stiles own.

Leo asked with a wild caution in his eyes, “That was your dad?”

Stiles rolled his eyes, “Yeah he just wanted to say hi.”
