Summary
What Kakashi wants and what he’ll allow himself are two separate things entirely. He wants to fill the spaces between his fingers, the sun awakening him as the smile of his lover greets him. He wants someone to come home to after a mission, someone to take care of him. He’s perfectly capable of doing these things himself, but he thinks it’d be… nice. To have someone care if he made it back in one piece, who doesn’t give a damn about the mission, just him.
He’s not fool enough to think that Minato will give him this. He’s his sensei, and in love with another at that. He knows where his place will be in all this. And perhaps he should feel more ashamed of that. But. Just for this once. Or until Minato tires of him. He’ll allow himself this one thing, however Minato chooses to give it to him.
