You sit, content, on your windowsill as it continues to rain continuously outside. You sigh to yourself and stare at the droplets of water as they hit the moss-covered branches on the evergreen trees surrounding the small neighbourhood. It was a soothing action and you couldn't help but get lost in the rains beauty, you really wished it poured like this more often.
You hear a sudden guitar strum from the neighbours house which leads to a pretty catchy rhythm. It was muffled due to the thick wall between your houses but the guitar was clear enough for you to hear its tune. After what seemed to be the introductory melody, the neighbour started to sing along to the rhythm with his own lyrics. He had an incredibly soothing voice, you couldn't help yourself and you put your head against the wall to hear the song more clearly. It was a nice addition to the calming rain outside, you felt like going to sleep. You wasn't bored or anything, the music and rain just paired so nicely together that you couldn't help but drift off.
You continued to sit there for a while, just listening quietly to the sound of rain and your neighbours singing. Every once in a while he would mess up and either flip out or laugh at himself, it was a surprise each time but it always put a smile on your face and even earned a chuckle sometimes. After a while, your eyes began to feel heavy and you couldn't fight against the urge to close them, so you did. You began to fall asleep as the rain began to clear and the neighbours song start to reach its end.
And you fell asleep with a warm smile and a peaceful mind, for once.
