Rafael Barba,had a hard time breathing correctly. How he arrived at the hospital, he would never know. It was a sentence Carisi had told him Barba, come quickly. Liv was caught in a car accident
His mind wandered over to Noah. Little Noah. What would happen to him,if Olivia... He couldn't even finish the thought. Would someone from the job adopt him? Amanda perhaps? His mind went back to Olivia.He couldn't bare to lose Olivia. His best friend, the woman that showed him how beautiful life actually is. They had kept in touch. But he regretted the fact, that he had not visited her. Now he could lose her and there was nothing he could do about it.
Rafael wanted to kill the person,who had hurt Olivia. He had promised his self, that he would hunt down anyone who hurt her. After William Lewis.
Barba hadn't realised,he had almost passed out. He felt someone, almost slapping his face. He looked up and saw Tutuola. The Sargent's mouth was moving,but Rafael couldn't listen any of the words that came off his lips.
A doctor approached them. The doctor that was in charge for Olivia Benson's life. "Doctor how is she?" Sonny asked,his blue eyes widening in fear. He couldn't bare if anything had happened to his former Captain,his friend. He hoped he wouldn't have to tell Amanda the bad news, while she was taking care of Noah
"Captain Benson, should be fine. She has some broken ribs,a slight head concussion and an awful case of bruising,but nothing serious was endured. She is mostly pretty shaken and panicked. It's normal, considering the terrifying experience." The doctor explained.
The three men,sighed in relief. "Can we see her doctor?" Fin asked. He wanted to make sure Olivia was okay. But he also understood,how Rafael was feeling. "One at the time and not too long. She needs a lot of rest." The doctor informed them. "I'll go first!" Rafael, practically demanded.
As Rafael entered the room, his eyes were filled with tears. Tears mixed with happiness, sadness and anger. Happiness, because she was alive and fine, with him,for Noah. Sadness, because she was the last person in the world that deserved something like that. Anger. Anger at the person that had caused the accident.
His eyes,looked at the shaken woman, lying on the hospital bed. She was trembling and crying.
Olivia felt the weight at the end of the bed change and she backed away. Her eyes wide with fear. She started breathing hard, trying to calm her panicked heart. She felt someone grab her hand. Surprisingly, that didn't panic her. She would recognise the strength,warm and softness anywhere. Rafael Barba. But...he wasn't there. She turned her head. He was indeed there. "Rafa?" Her voice was hoarse,as she said his name. Rafael kisses her hand, trying to calm both her and himself down. "Yes,I'm here Liv. Estás bien,cariño (you're okay sweetheart).
Olivia buried her head in his chest. Tears were running down her cheeks. "I-i thought,I would die Rafa! I don't want to die! I want to see my son getting married, giving me grandkids." Each one of her words were followed by heart-shuttering sobs. "All I could think about was Noah,you,Fin, Amanda, Sonny..."
Rafael kept stroking her hair. He was mostly trying to convince both of them, that she was practically alright.
Some yelling could be heard out of the room. Olivia knew those yells too well. Elliot and Fin...
The door burst open and Elliot forced himself in, despite the doctor, Sonny and Fin, telling him to wait until it was his turn. But he wasn't listening.
"Liv?! Are you okay?!" Stabler asked, almost pushing Barba away. Olivia ignored him, focusing on Rafael. "Listen,I'll take care of this!" Nothing comforting came out of his mouth.
"Everything has been taken care of,mr Stabler." Rafael told him. Oh,he had heard the typical -my former parther stories-.
"Did I ever ask you?" Elliot snarked at the man. Olivia couldn't stand anyone talking like that to Rafael. With all the strength she had, she raised her hand and her palm came in contact with his cheek. " I believe this is your cue to leave." Rafael told Stabler,who left the room, slamming the door close behind him. Olivia looked up at her friend. Her brown orbs, locking with his green ones. " I couldn't bare him, talking to you like that."
It was as if there was an invisible magnetic force. The chemistry they had. The love that was never told. Their lips touched in a sweet,small kiss. None of them panicked. It definitely wasn't the kiss they had imagined,but it was better.
"Oh God, finally!" Fin's voice,made them break the kiss and look at him in panic. " I was afraid,I would have hit ya with something."
"Anyways,I'll let you two have more time. As long as you need. I'll convince the doctor."
Rafael thanked the man. Be couldn't bare being away from her.
Rafael kissed her forehead. " I love you..." He whispered to her. "I love you,too." Olivia, whispered back. They shared one more kiss.
Rafael knew how strong his feelings were for Olivia. He loves her, with every piece of his heart
He would never let her go. He would do his best,to keep her happy. Because,there was no doubt in Barba's brain. He knew he wanted to marry her and adopt her boy. So,he would do it.
No one would ever hurt Olivia and Noah again.
He would never break this promise.
