Railbirds fill every inch and corner of the house as they watch the current whale take on the newbie who's running hot with all the chips he'd gotten with every act he makes
"Got any face cards on you?" The overly confident brit asks, seemingly happy with his deck of cards this time. Karl stops, he blinks a few times I should stop he tells himself. He places them face down gaining a smirk from the other
"You shouldn't celebrate so early, I'm not even finished yet" he says smiling. This confused the brit but he just scoffs "You shouldn't be so confident yourself!" He gestures to all of Karl "Look at you! You barely even know what you're doing! You just lost, you placed your cards down! It's over! You've just showed that you-"
"You're right, I put my cards down" Karl cuts off "And like I said, I'm not finished yet" He turns them facing up, showing everyone especially his opponent, his full set of kings, jacks, and queens "Double or nothing!" The fuming brit shouts
I should really stop Karl thinks, gathering his bankroll and heading toward the cage "Hey!" he could hear the brit continue to shout and call him back for another bet. Could he blame him? Said brit was a known high roller and to top it off, he was a card sharp. "Maybe some other time, I gotta go! I'm sorry!" he shouts back and receives a displeased expression from the other but it all fades away as he waves Karl goodbye
He gave his winnings to a charity nearby that was helping to fund an orphanage before being on his way to finally finish this adventure and head back home, but before doing so he was faced with the croupier of their table from earlier
"You're the newbie from earlier right?" Karl nods "Is there something you need?" the man looks at him "Say, where're you from?" he asks. Karl is unsure how or what answer to give the man so he simply states "I'm not from around here" to which the man just hums to "Well...when will you play agian?"
"Some other time" Karl answers and waves goodbye, dispersing into the crowd
"Karl!" Sap shouts "How're you winning every single time?!" he exclaims tossing his cards across the table. Karl giggles "Practice and some experience" he answers
"Well if you're gonna be this great you better play in my casino Karl! I need to get people coming there as soon as possible!" Alex says, fixing his suit for the grand opening later
"Of course, just like last time?"
He plays again
