Chapter Text

A glow is cast over the dark wood of the desk George is sitting at, the computer on and running. The fan is working overtime, as George is running many windows at once: Minecraft, Discord, Streamlabs, and other irrelevant websites. "George?" He looks up again at his computer at the sound of his friend's voice. "Yeah, I'm here." Putting his phone away to the side, George turns his attention back to the game he's playing with his two friends, Sapnap and Dream. "You got kinda quiet there for a minute, everything alright?" Sapnap's voice sounds through his headphones. "Oh yeah, just got distracted for a moment." He laughs lightly, glancing at the chat before looking back to Minecraft. They had been playing for about an hour now, Dream a little quiet this stream. "But what's up with you Dream, you're the one who's really been quiet."

Dream looks at the green icon lighting up around George's avatar on Discord as he speaks, answering after a moment. "I'm alright, just thinking." The grin in George's voice is obvious as he speaks again. "Thinking about me?" Dream's eyes widen, and he immediately speaks up. "Wha- what's wrong with you!" In truth he was thinking about George, but he would never admit it.
He had been thinking about George more often lately, more than he would like to admit. He knows somewhere that he's developing a crush on his friend, but he squashes down his feelings as much as possible so as not to make things awkward between the group. Each day grows harder for him to do this though, as his feelings grow stronger.
When George laughs in response, his heart beats a tad faster. "Mhmmm, whatever you say." Sapnap chimes in, joining in on the teasing. Dream groans and answers, "You guys are the worst."

George can't help but look at chat as this is happening. He had been doing this more often during streams as of late, checking chat to see how they would react to the friendly banter between the three. He would check most often when it revolved around him and Dream though, thriving off the validation he gets from seeing positive reactions. He isn't sure quite why he gets these feelings, but he isn't going to figure it out today, so he doesn't bother lingering on the thought for long.
The stream continues for another thirty minutes before they all end it, closing down Streamlabs. George clicks on the Discord tab, watching Dream's icon light up as they continue talking post-stream. "So, what were you thinking about earlier Dream?" George asks when conversation dies down a little. Dream laughs nervously. "Nothing important." George rolls his eyes playfully. "Sureeeeeee," he answers sarcastically. "Damn, looks like I gotta go guys." Sapnap's icon lights up as he announces his departure. The sound of him leaving seems to echo in the silence that follows. This happens every time he and Dream are left alone lately. Eventually conversation sparks up again, and George and Dream are laughing until they have to leave call.

Once they say their goodbyes, Dream takes a deep breath and leans back in his chair, taking off his headphones. His mind immediately wanders to thoughts of George, the jokes made between them and the way his lips moved as he made them. Running a hand through his hair, Dream stands and turns off the PC, grabbing his phone and flopping onto his bed.
