“It’ll be okay,” Poe stated.
She’d known him long enough to know when he was lying. “Of course,” she answered, even if the idea broke her heart. “Set up by our best friend, what could go wrong?”
He simply glared. Finn had promised they would both like the people he had set them up with but she knew it was a lost cause. The only person she wanted to date was right in front of her but Poe would never consider her.
“What’s the worst that can happen?” she continued. “If it’s awful, it’s only a few hours, right?”
“I don’t know why I even agreed to this,” he huffed.
“Because Finn can talk us into anything?”
He didn’t disagree. “I guess, well we should get ready for those dates.”
She nodded, even if it was the last thing she wanted. This guy didn’t stand a chance; she was in love with someone else.
“Trooper table, please.”
It only took a second for her to see him. Poe was there, looking completely nervous. She could feel the grin blossom on her face once she realized the trick Finn had played. He was right, she owed him big time for this.
