Chapter Text
Suzy sat in her office all alone. All that stopped her from the deafening silence was the ticking of the clock above her as she waited for Pedro Pony to deliver her paperwork. You'd be surprised how many clients requested for Suzy Sheep's assistance. World-wide, she was known for her excellent detective work. Everyone revered her as the greatest detective in the world. No matter how clean the crime scene was, or how long it took for other detectives to even find a lead, she could finish them in record time. She took pride in that. Her family took pride in that. She planned on visiting her family after filing her paperwork, actually. She hasn't been home for a very long time, and her aging mother was starting to miss her. Her siblings, Sally and Sammy have jobs and families of their own, so Suzy was the only one that could visit her.
Pedro Pony burst through the door and tripped on air. The important papers he was clutching fell from his grasp, and it was unorganized again. Suzy looked down at Pedro on the floor and sighed. He was one of her childhood friends. She had known Pedro ever since she was young, yet she was still surprised on how he got the job as her assistant. If she were being honest, he was more sloth than pony. She didn't see him as either reliable or diligent. Least of all, hardworking. Yet here he is, as her assistant, on the floor, important files sprawled across the floor.
" Seriously, Pedro? Again?" Suzy said, head in her hands. What more could she expect from this unbelievably lazy pony?
Despite Suzy's disappointment, Pedro smiled innocently. "Sorry~" he said, as he started picking up the files and (in his best efforts) placed them neatly on top of Suzy's desk. "You're going back home soon, aren't you Su- I mean Boss?"
Suzy grabbed the files placed on her desk and began organizing them. "Yes, I am. My mum's getting older, and she can't take care of herself alone." She answered.
"How long will you be on break, then?" Pedro asked almost immediately. "A little around 2 weeks. I'll have to keep in check on even after today's visit."
Pedro nodded quietly and sat on one of the chairs in front of her. "Does that mean I'll get a break too?" He asked hopefully.
"Dunno, will you?" she said, not looking up from the papers. She checked the doings of her last case, making sure that the information is factual and didn't contain any falsehoods. At the corner of her eye, she saw Pedro pout. Then he yawned, and with the silence slowly drifted off to sleep. She should have had him fired months ago if he wasn't already that down on his luck.
When she was done, she put the files into a folder, and tapped Pedro's head with it. "Here, get them to file this." Before he could fully take it, she reminded him with a glare that was to say 'don't drop it again'. He gulped and made his way out the door.

The cab pulled over beside the hill where Peppa's family used to live. Tragically, they had died when some burglar broke into their house and killed the three of them. George was nowhere to be found in the crime scene, and after a thorough investigation, was assumed dead. Suzy tried to convince herself that what they said was true. But before she could think of it any further, she pushed it to the back of her mind as she approached her childhood home.
Across the street she saw Madame Gazelle waving at her. She looked youthful as always. Her smile looked the same as all those years ago.
"Oh , my dear Suzy is that you?" she exclaimed, wiping her glasses."
"Madam Gazelle! How have you been? It's been so long!"
"I'm doing well dear, how about you? I hear the detective thing is working out for you very well."
"It has been doing splendidly. I've just come to visit my mother for a few weeks. Take care of her because of her age. Not all could be as youthful as you, after all."
"Oh, you flatter me, dear. I've just visited your mother. You can go on ahead."
"I'll get going then, have a good day, Madam Gazelle." Suzy said as she waved goodbye.
She straightened her clothing and knocked at the door. No response.
She rang the doorbell instead. Nothing.
Did something happen? No, it can't be... Mum's fine. Madam Gazelle checked on her earlier.
Then she noticed the doorknob was unlocked. Surely, she couldn't forget to lock the door right? She was the one who told Suzy to lock her doors. She wouldn't be so careless to leave it open, even at her age.
She gulped and turned the knob into her front door. And the blood on the walls of the living room would haunt her for the rest of her days.
