~Jolyne hopped from one square of the sidewalk to the next as Josuke followed behind her, holding her backpack full of food and toys around his shoulders.
Jotaro San had to write his thesis for school so he told Josuke to take care of Jolyne. Right now, he was bringing her back to the Hotel where the two were living in at the moment.
Jolyne wasn't that bad of a kid. Just don't say that butterflies are ugly. Otherwise, only Josuke's beat downs when someone makes fun of his (precious) hair could rival her tantrum.
(Hey, maybe it passed in the family. Josuke was her great uncle after all.)
Jolyne could see Stands but she didn't have one. Jotaro San said that it was a possibility that she would get one when she was older or she might not get one at all but due to having the Joestar blood in her she would be able to see Stands.
It would be cool if Jolyne got a Stand though, Josuke knew that she would use it well. Hell, this girl used the tip of a pencil to open up a lock! Imagine what she could do if she had a Stand!
"Hey big bro Josuke?" She asked, while holding her balance. She hopped onto the next square with ease.
"Yeah?" Josuke said while watching the girl jump. Okuyasu really liked Jolyne because he could be himself around her and she wouldn't laugh.
(Josuke felt the same way... why did Okuyasu have to admit it about a kid?)
"Do you think that Rohan Sensei would put a princess that looks like me in his manga?" She continued on with her skipping like there was no care in the world. Josuke scoffed.
"Why do you think that ass- he would want to put someone like you in his manga? You're too good for him!" He almost swore in front of her. Jotaro San would kill him if he found out!
Jolyne shrugged.
"I don't know. I just want to be a bit famous you know? Great Grandpa showed me his Spiderman comics the other day. Do you know, he could use his webs to go from building to building? It just sounds so cool to do that! Peter was just a regular kid and then he got superpowers!" Josuke chuckled as he summoned Crazy Diamond.
"Aw c'mon. A kid with superpowers is right next to you! Basically everyone you know here has superpowers? Isn't that cool enough?" Damn Rohan for making Jolyne upset about something so simple! He'll get him for that next time he sees him! Jolyne looked at Crazy Diamond and then to the ground. She kicked a rock near her right foot.
"Yeah... but I'm just a regular girl." Alright. It's settled. Josuke is going to kill Rohan for making Jolyne this upset!
(Even though it was inadvertently Josuke's Father's fault. He just liked to blame Rohan)
The said teen knelt in front of Jolyne and held her shoulder.
"Hey. Even if you don't have a Stand, you're resourceful on your own. It's all you right here!" He smiled as he playfully poked the child's chest. She giggled.
"Daddy could teach me to stop time! Great Grandpa said that he would be able to do that when I get older!" She completely ignored what Josuke just said.
Also, why did Mr. Joestar say that when it wasn't true? That's going to come and bite him later if he's alive for it. Josuke thought.
Suddenly, he saw a blur of gold come towards them.
Most specifically, Jolyne.
"JOLYNE! WATCH OUT!" Josuke watched as the gold pierced her stomach without Jolyne saying a word. Upon further observation, Josuke recognized what it was.
A Stand Arrow?!
Quickly, he removed it from Jolyne, throwing it to the side of him and healed her wounds. Once every outside wound was healed, he checked her pulse.
She's warm! Really really warm! Josuke checked her forehead to see if it was the same temperature. Shit. She has a fever!
From the background Josuke heard a 'tch.'
"I didn't know the Arrow was going to choose a little girl what use is she going to be to Yoshikage? But I wonder why is that Higashikata kid with her though? Is she his sister?" Yoshihiro Kira thought out loud. Josuke turned around with anger painted on his face.
"YOU!" He stood up, carefully placing Jolyne on the grass next to him. Yoshihiro had a nervous look as Josuke summoned Crazy Diamond. The both of them turned to look at the Stand Arrow that fell peacefully in between them.
I won't be fast enough. Kira's Dad is closer but maybe Crazy Diamond could-
Josuke's thoughts were slower than Yoshihiro. He grabbed the Arrow and flew away.
"I hope that the Arrow doesn't lead to someone else that you know, Higashikata!" He cackled.
"DAMN YOU!" Josuke was about to chase after the polaroid picture but he head a whimper from the grass.
"D-Daddy... big bro Josuke..." I have to make sure Jolyne is alright before I can do anything else! I can't believe I almosr forgot about her! Cursing to himself, he picked up Jolyne bridal style and ran towards the Morioh Grand Hotel in vast speed.

"Jotaro San!" Josuke carried Jolyne into Jotaro San's hotel room. Her fever was reduced but she was still burning. When the marine biologist in training took a look at his daughter, he stood up so fast, Josuke thought that Jotaro San stopped time just to do the small deed.
"What happened to Jolyne? Why are you carrying her like that?" Quickly, Jotaro San put a hand on Jolyne's forehead.
"She has a fever..." He trailed off.
"Jolyne got shot with the Arrow that Kira's Dad had! I wasn't able to get it in time but-" Josuke was cut off by Jotaro San taking his daughter from him.
"Forget about that for now. Tell me exactly what happened when she got shot." So Josuke did while he and Jotaro San sat on opposite sides of the bed. The older man was pressing wet towels on Jolyne who's fever was gradually reducing.
"I'm glad that you healed her in time otherwise this sickness could have gone much worse." Jotaro San sighed in relief.
Does he know from prior experience?
"How do you know?" Josuke asked. He felt like he was stepping on eggshells as he were saying this. Jotaro San's life was a private matter but Josuke knew something happened to him while he was young. Why else would he be so stoic and emotionless?
The only time he shows emotion was when he was interacting with Jolyne!
"I shouldn't have brought Jolyne here. She should have stayed with her mother." Jotaro San said, pressing the towel harder on Jolyne's forehead. Josuke leaned forward.
"Yeah. But then what kind of Dad would you be then? You have the most powerful Stand in the world and you can't even use it to protect your daughter?" Josuke answered. Jotaro's blue eyes fumed with anger (and sadness?)
"I couldn't protect her now!" He nearly yelled.
Josuke raised his hand as if he were in school.
"But I did. She's alive and best of all, she'll have a Stand and become a part of the party! Look at the town of Morioh, there are so many Stand users here to protect her even if you're absent!" He said optimistically. Jotaro San looked to the side as if he was foreign to the word 'help' or 'absent.'
"Yeah... I guess." The two then sat in silence after that both engrossed in their own thoughts.

The next morning, Josuke came back to the hotel to see how Jolyne was doing. The moment he opened the door, he saw Jolyne hanging on the lampost with something that looked like... string?
"Look big bro Josuke! I can be Spiderman now!" A small blue Stand with sunglasses appeared next to her. Josuke beamed.
"Whoa! Congrats! You got your own Stand! Are you feeling better from yesterday?" Before Jolyne could even reply, Jotaro San walked inside the room with larger bags in his eyes than usual.
"Jolyne woke up at four in the morning to find her body all in string. She's been up ever since." Josuke laughed. It reminded him of himself when Crazy Diamond first appeared. He would purposefully break things and fix it again using it's ability.
"What do you call it?" Josuke asked Jolyne, who fell to the ground on both feet, holding her arms out like she was a acrobat.
"Well, Daddy's is called Star Platinum so I wanted to use another rock, so I called mine Stone Free!" Josuke was happy to see his great grand niece like this. Yesterday really made her and him upset.
"Jotaro San, can I bring Jolyne out to show Okuyasu and the others?" Josuke asked. Jotaro San nodded.
"Just make sure to protect her this time." He warned.
"Hey! Daddy! I can protect myself!" Jolyne yelled angrily. Josuke saluted a two finger salute.
"I got it! " He said as he grabbed Jolyne's hand and went outside.
Another Joestar got a Stand. I wonder what's going to happen after this?
