Elias sat calmly in the lawyer’s office waiting, his neatly manicured hands folded in his lap, a light smile on his lips, staring at the door. Peter would be here soon. The lawyer was a bit unnerved at his sanguine attitude considering the previous week he’d been spitting venom at Peter like an angry cobra. The clock ticked, someone coughed as the minutes passed, Elias sat just as calm, just as patient. He could see Peter coming through the fog and his smile didn’t leave his lips. Peter finally came through the office door.
“You’re still here, I was hoping you’d have other concerns,” Peter sighed when he saw Elias.
“Yes of course I am darling.” Elias smirked. “I wanted to See you one last time.”
“Well, now you have,” Peter said as he removed a pen from his jacket pocket and signed the divorce papers. “Good bye Elias.”
“Good Bye Peter, see you soon,” Elias said, watching Peter leave.
Peter would spend the next six months pining and aching for his horrible ex aboard the Tundra, an experience so exquisitely lonely, that he’d almost be smiling when Elias would greet him at the docks.
